Please don't take my post as being not sensitive to the issue. I'm a wait for the facts kind of guy. I thought the Vikings had a good chance. Not so sure now.
No worries Huck..this one isnt a black and white issue. I spank my kids..but looking at the photos..Id say that was extreme. AP had to know it was going overboard..but then again..some people are very forcefull with their corporal punishment. I dont think he did it out of anything but giving his kid a whoopin as he said.
just not sure how I feel about this one. Clearly from the photos it was excessive, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable getting into how a person disciplines their children. I guess it's old school. When I was a kid I used to get it with a belt, fly swatter or whatever. In school they still had paddles in the principles office. I would never say or think or feel I was abused as a child but I dont choose to discipline my children in that fashion. However I don't have the right to impose what I think on anyone else. Nor do I feel I should.
Yeh..thats where Im at. I def believe kids should get whooped on the butt when they need it..and I got spanked with a wood cutting board..looking at those photos..it looks bad..but I cam guarantee you there are alot of adults who can recount getting a switch from their parents and looking like that
He didn't spank his child. He whipped his child to the point that the child had to be taken to a doctor, and then the kid told police he was afraid his dad was going to punch him in the mouth again. Child abuse.
Oh jeez. Look at the can I opened. I started the post because it affects our team in the AFC East. At least that is where I hoped the discussion will go. The talking heads on TV will talk the rest of it to death for us.
No problem huck. I agree that it's very fortunate for the Patriots and even though it seems callous, there are definitely football ramifications of this that affect the Dolphins. Sorry, 'punched in the mouth' is my paraphrasing of this: "According to the report, the child told authorities, “Daddy Peterson hit me on my face” and said he feared Peterson would punch him in the face if he found out police knew about the incident." http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...erson-admitted-to-whooping-son-with-a-switch/ So a possible exaggeration on my part, I apologize.
Whooping your kid with a switch is child abuse now. My mom should get life in prison then...smh. Pathetic.
He literally punched his kid in the face, stuffed leaves in his mouth, pulled his pants down, and whipped him, also getting his son's genitals in the process. Your mom ever do that to you? Did your mom also have a 'whooping room' for that?
I'm not sure if said incident happened before or after his other child was killed, but if it was after, you would think it would change his perspective on harming a child, even if it was for discipline purposes.
Not to make light of it...but I had to laugh: Dirty Sports @TheDirtySports · 2m "I need to see video footage to confirm Adrian Peterson is at fault." - Roger Goodell
Nevermind the link. I just read it. I still think the whole story is a bunch of BS. So what, he whooped his child. As a teacher/coach in inner city Houston, I wish more parents were like AP.
Not Bill Walton @NotBillWalton · 6m What's next for the NFL? Tom Brady is the leader of ISIS? Russell Wilson cooks meth? Andrew Luck is the hacker behind The Fappening?
Kid had to be taken to the doctor due to the severity of the whipping. That's slightly more than a "good, old fashioned whooping" and it was the doctor who contacted the authorities. That's an indicator that this wasn't a run of the mill whipping.
I don't think any jury would convict her for whooping your ***, even todya. That's a probably some kind service to the Houston community. In fact, she should get some sort of recognition.
BS, he took it way too far. His child has a better chance of being a criminal than disciplined with abuse that extreme. FK AP.
Why should the penalty be less severe than it is for hitting a woman? I mean if all of you want think you have the moral authority to hurt people when they do things you dont like you could at least br consistent about it.
Too bad for his kids. also too bad, because I thought Minny actually had a decent shot to pull off the upset this week and send New England to 2-0
I'm trying to post the photo of the abuse, once I do many of you will want him to get the Rice Treatment
If more parents had whacked their boys when they were young, they probably wouldn't have grown up to become entitled, self-important little ****s that think the world owes them something and that it's ok for them to hit women, murder people, and continue to be a degenerate and useless part of society. Though there is a line, but did AP cross that line or did the punishment fit the child's wrong doing? None of us can judge that with the information that's available.
