I think Bill Lazor is doing some good things, but the play design on some of these passes is not one of them.

Ya that seems like a fair, unbiased analysis. Which means only a few people on this board will agree with it.

Can pretty much guarantee that is on the receivers due to route deoth and not Lazor. No way he wants 3 receivers within 5 yards.

    Better bench the QB, then.

The routes are pretty bad, but the design is pretty good. It looks like a pick play. Sims (I think, it's blurry) should be a little shallower or Hartline (again, I think) should be a little deeper so that Sims can impede Hartline's guy on the play. Wallace should be deeper, obviously.

Can't blame this one on Tannehill or the design.

I can see how to two underneath guys could be setting up a pick play but what is Wallace doing there? Even if the pick works the CB covering Wallace is going to stop any potential YAC.

Theres nothing really wrong with that play. In fact, if you watch the play, there were multiple receivers that ended up very open. Need to let the play develop.

It wasn't a pick play. It was designed to clear out space. FFWD a couple of steps and you see the receivers open with space.

It looks like it might be the SS on Wallace on that play. I think Wallace might not be concentrating as hard because he knows he's not getting the ball or he might be running a shallower route than normal because the protection hadn't been great?

As for the design, I'd rather run a pick play for Wallace, because Hartline will run a better route to move that safety, and Wallace is less likely to trip over his own feet as he moves into open space with the ball.

    I'm no expert, though.

    What CB is covering Wallace?

When was this play in particular? Sorry if it's in the article, but it's out of context for me right now.

    Sean Smith is on Hartline.

The play basically is getting the space defenders to flow to one side, while getting a receiver to the vacated space.

I don't recall to be honest. I just remember watching it last night. It stood out to me because Wallace seemed to have space if he got the ball at the right time.

Is that the strong safety running with Wallace on the play?

I'd like to check the whole play out. If the receivers ended up with good spacing on the play, as you say, then it looks like the problems with this play come down to the pass protection.

James had his first rough day out there, and Dallas Thomas is Dallas Thomas.

Was not talking about Keller. Was talking about how he sucks and will get a player killed. Jesus, its been so freakin long since we have had a QB that you guys are accepting this horse manure. Name 5 starting QBs worse than ours.
