I don"t hate Brady he is a nice dude but man looks like he isn't himself..he has only a few weapons but he can't make everybody around him better Geno Smith:People want Vick i was laughing when they drafted him, wasn't near as talented as Teddy Bridgewater when they compared them ..Is actually worse then Sanchez. E.J Manuel:Played bad vs Houston has ok Stats 5-3 Td but is a Checkdown Qb not suprised that he is not ballin would never thought they draft him...Has some Talent but can't excel seing ghosts on the field.. Tannehill:Some hate him,the best Qb since Pennington great Athlete Potential to be special, without my Dolphins glasses has all the tools and lacking deep ball accuracy im sure Lazor can fix it..New Offense for him so its normal that he struggled some, but looks like he is gettin better each game..Humble dude and i think he gonna explode vs Green Bay... Btw i would bet money that Brady may Retire after this season
No, sorry. If Brady was on our team we would be 4-0 right now. Patriots receiving core sucks *** so it makes Brady look bad.
Yeah, Tannehill has one good game....out of 36 total games....and people want to crown him the best QB in the AFC East. Just plain ridiculous. I hope Tannehill continues to grow and turns into a 10+ year perennial pro-bowler, but he is clearly not there yet. He played great against the worst defense in football and he has the highest paid receiving corp in the league. So let's not get too ahead of ourselves here- he's had one great Sunday. Now we hope for 2 great Sundays, and then about a dozen more before we start handing out crowns.
Bit off there...going into our game, Raiders D was top half of the league in yards allowed and points allowed. And just because the previous FO overpaid receivers doesn't mean they're the top unit in the league. I agree though, it's early to anoint RT...let the season play out.
Are people over reacting about Brady? Maybe. Are people over reacting about Tannehill? Maybe. Has Tannehill only had one good game in his career? Hell no, that's ridiculous.
If he is, it says more about the AFC (l)east than anything else. I hope he grows into a role and leads receivers like he did last Sunday, but time will tell.
No. Brady is still one of the best QBs in the league. He's just had his offensive line and WRs stripped away by a butthole coach who's deluded himself into believing he's a genius.
Brady is starting to show his age but he is still the best QB in the AFCE. Brady is not a nice guy though by all accounts he is pretty much a #$%^. Geno is young and struggling and Manuel was just benched so by default Tannehill is #2 in the division.
That is not "by default". He is legitimately better than Geno and Manuel. (Also, through 4 games, he's better than Brady. Will it end that way? Who knows, but right now he's actually the best QB in the division.)
Yep. He's tops in the div by far at present. I don't expect his Raiders play every week...but I expect somewhere between that and his Pats game. If he can do that while improving his consistency and mastery of the offense, he will legitimately be the best. I've been seeing Brady's decrease since late 2013...I just hope it's real and lasting!
I didn't mean that as a slight on Ryan but more a commentary on the state of the QBs in the AFCE. Let's face it Matt Moore is probably the third best QB in the division.
Brady is not the QB he used to be and not just because he played poorly last night. The Patriots were the best team in a mediocre division for years and now time and the other teams in the AFCE have caught up with them.
I do hate Brady because he's a smug jackass. He could still turn it around but right now he looks terrible on his own not even counting the issues around him. Until 5-6 more weeks pass he is still the best by dedault but his era could be ebding.
I would honestly say yes AT THIS MOMENT, but with the caveat that the quarterback play in the AFC East is terrible right now. Tom Brady, I don't know if he will recover and look like the same old Brady by the end of the season, but through four weeks he has been downright bad. Not worse than usual, not mediocre, but actually bad. As the saying goes, we have the tallest midget at the moment.
Totally agree. But a few weeks of Brady playing like he has and a few of Tannehill playing lights out would make me re-evaluate.
In a division with a group of average to below average starting QB's at this time, Tannehill is probably the top QB right now. That being stated, in three years, I would take Jimmy Garoppolo over any of the other young QB's in the division and that includes Tannehill. Garoppolo reminds me of a young Aaron Rogers. He is a very accurate passer and he has an extremely quick release. Belichick hasn't done very well with his draft selections in recent years, but I think he found himself a quality replacement for Brady when he decided to draft Garoppolo in the second round.
Where do people come up with this stuff? 1 good game out of 36? Worst defense in football? Sorry, I'm gonna have to call bull**** on this one. Oh, by the way, highest paid receiving corp in the league doesn't mean the best.
WADR, this post is full of sh**. He's had several good games...this is just the first really good one this year. Worst defense in football? Check the facts...the Raiders D was top half of the league in points and yards allowed going into our game...please explain how that = worst? Ireland gives a couple overpriced contracts and that's a negative on RT? Save it...
I think he finally overcame the hits he took last year. no more cobwebs, no more hesitancy... he's back!
Man do I hope so...so much. If he can string together 3 or 4 more solid performances...it will certainly seem like he's past that hump.
Jaguars are the worst defense in football. It is not even close. Giving up over 34 offensive points per game. Oakland is giving up about 24.
Yeah, but if you hadn't bolded it, then it wouldn't have made you look so dumb. It was smart when I said it. For the sake of letting the flamers flame though, please name one other COMPLETE game that Tannehill has had in his career. Not just catches, but accurate passes. Not a half dozen sacks, but feeling the pressure and reacting. Name just one....you cant. Because it's never happened before. He's had a few decent games, sure, but never a start to finish showing like he did last Sunday.
Well, in the bolded, you said "good" game. Negative-bias maybe? Most would say it was a great game. BTW his game with NE in town last year was stellar.
That was an outstanding game, IMO. Probably his best so far. I've been hard on Tannehill, but it's not like he doesn't have good games. He just hasn't strung those games together consistently.
What about the second game against New England last year. Att-com-yards-tds-ints 25-37-312-3-0 He was sacked 4 times, however he had a game winning drive including two great passes to Mathews and Thigpen.
It was a good team game, yes, and Tannehill's stat line was impressive. Don't think for a second though that the throws in that game were anywhere near as accurate as what we saw last Sunday though, which is why I said it was his first complete good game.
