How about maybe, just maybe we were simply beat by a better team, which pretty much everyone can agree on that... The D simply didn't do their job...bottom line...
Players played good enough to win. Coaching let them down in the 4th quarter. That game could have been won with better coaching decisions.
That fake spike really eats me up...no way he should've EVER been able to make it OOB to stop the clock...absolutely horrible when part of your team's history is the CREATION of the fake spike, to fall on your face. NFL Football 101...and they weren't even thinking about it until it happened.
I wanted this after they blew it against the Jets in week 17 last year. Those performances in week 16 and 17 were some of the worst in team history, worse than some of those 2007 games, with the playoffs on the line.
I'd rather fire Coyle honestly. His defense relies entirely on the premise of the offense not being able to sustain drives without shooting themselves. He makes no attempt to dictate the game. The defense is always reacting instead of acting.
This was a nail biter against a pretty damn good team...we aren't the lost cause we like to think we are but some of the coaching decisions out there are costing us time, yards, and initiative.
If you're gonna space out, space out while guarding the sideline. That was pathetic. It would be nice if these guys knew the history, but I don't think expecting them to know Dolphin history is a realistic expectation.
For once I agree with you. That said, Bill Lazor's play-calling has been pretty $***** for the most part this year, and Joe Philbin just is NOT cut out to be a coach. I hope for once that Ross just cleans house. Swiftly and entirely. It needs to be done; it HAS to be done.
especially when its not going to happen right now. Its like fire the owner...dumbest ****in thing I ever heard..
I have doing other things this season but since I am here I will say this our defense cant carry this team . our offense has to be more productive if we are to progress to the next level. linebackers seem like a big weakness on defense. I don't know about our oline we may be ok there. Clay needs the ball more and Tannehill needs a mentor if he doesn't have one. we are poorly coached so I would fire Coyle and Philbin and elevate the o.c.
I think Philbin doesn't get along with his coaches. He completely brushed Coyle off when he was trying to talk to him before the half.
Why does everyone think Green Bay is a good team? The two teams that have a winning record, they lost to, convincingly. They're not good. They just have one of the best QBs of all time. This is a game Miami should have won, because they have the better overall team. Not to mention, as the game played on, they lost half their defense. Games like this, playoff teams win, especially at home. I watch GB every week in Chicago, because Bears fans are obsessed with them, and it's the same thing every week. Aaron Rodgers either going crazy or bailing them out. He's literally the only mismatch the Packers have. Clay Matthews is overrated. Eddie Lacy is overrated. And you can defend their WRs enough to hang around the game, as we saw. They don't have any ridiculous freak, a la Dez Bryant out there making insane catches. We should have won. No excuses. It was a blown game from top to bottom.
There must be something in the water in Chicago, my friend, because "not good" isn't a word I'd use for a team that is going to win a tougher division than Miami's division. "Not perfect" works pretty well to describe the Packers, because they have some flaws, but "not good" is just reactionary.
Philbin probably should be fired but no coach is going to be successful until we find a franchise QB. RTH sure turned things around in the 2nd half but he turns the ball over way too much and is way too inconsistent to ever be successful at a high level.
I was about to give you a fist bump until I read the 2nd half of your statement. The defense played well overall, and Rodgers was ridiculous under pressure. We just got beat in the final stretch.
You're winning with 6 seconds left in the game and you say "I think Green Bay deserved to win" after the game? Give them credit but don't say they deserved to win. The reason they "deserved" to win is because of poor coaching calls in the first place.
"Until the final touchdown, Miami held the Packers to just 20 points, and the defense just needed to execute on a single play to walk away with a win. Instead, Philbin allowed the Packers to gain the advantage by regrouping twice, and with an all-world quarterback and deep receiving core, executing on a few plays isn’t as hard. Philbin’s excuses and lack of accountability are astounding. The Dolphins have a talented roster, and their second-half performance should give the team confidence they can compete with almost any team in the NFL. But overcoming their head coach in the final 11 games will be a major challenge, if not impossible." Ian Wharton - BR
I was opposed to Philbin as soon as he was mentioned as a potential candidate for the job. I've been calling for his head since the first season. Can't come soon enough. Hire someone who's been an NFL coach before!
ummm because they are?.... because they haven't missed the playoffs since 2008 and still have all their main pieces in place? .... and a loaded offense..... and 2 great pass rushers.... and an outstanding secondary..... and great coaching..... but besides that, they suck. Whut?!! Jordy Nelson? HELLOOO. All the guy does is MAKE PLAYS. Randall Cobb? He makes plays too.
We are just going to agree to disagree. I'm not sure if you watch much of their division, but it isn't pretty. Again, who in that division has been impressive? Chicago is 3-3 with wins over SF (solid), Atlanta (2-4) & NY Jets (1-5). Minnesota is terrible...like NY Jets terrible. Detroit is 4-2, probably the most talented team in that division before they choke it away, with wins over NYG (solid), Packers (solid), NYJ (1-5) & Minnesota (2-4). That division is far from good. I've watched it for 2 years now. They beat up on each other, win some games they should win, but are otherwise unimpressive with 9-7/10-6 division winners and bow out in the first round of the playoffs (whomever that division winner is). Again, I'm just trying to see where they are above average or good other than their QB and WRs, which is a little product of the QB.
I'd have to agree. I've watched several of their division's games and they're nowhere near the West or East.
It will depend on who is fired this season. My #1 choice is Bill Cowher, but everyone says that he'll never come to Miami. I absolutely want someone who's done it before and proven that he knows how to be a NFL head coach before he's given the keys to the Miami Dolphins. Rookie head coaches one after another, and its a blind gamble. I'm sick of it. The last three all proved that they have no business being in control of a team.
