Was Philbin inserting Moreno who has been out a month basically in thrown into the lead back role in the first half. Not only did it hurt our football team, but it was a slap in the face to a RB who has been playing at a very high level when given the opportunity. Just another reason this staff is failing. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Still cant get over the chicken **** play calling on our last possession... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
He ran okay, probably not 100%, didn't expect that though. Miller ran hard again though, and should've had more chances in the first half, and should've been in on the drive they decided not to take the 3 points. Moreno got the ball on all 3 runs right? Coming off an injury that was probably not the best decision to go with.
More than chickens***. Just plain stupid. The other team knows you're going to try to run out the clock. They stack the box with nine people to stop you. They expect you to try to run between the tackles and have lined up specifically to stop that. Their two starting corners are out. What do our idiotic coaches call? Runs up the gut, twice. We get two yards and give the ball back, gift-wrapped, to the best QB in the business. Great thinking, coaching staff.
I can only assume that Philbin saw that we were running the ball effectively on the previous couple of drives and assumed we could do it again. The difference is that the opposing defense knows damn well you're going to try to run the ball, so instead of taking what the defense gives you, he makes that stupid 3rd and 9 call. If you pass and miss on 3rd and 9, they get the ball back with ~ 3 minutes, not that different than the extra run play. You make that first down by passing, we have a much better chance to win that game yesterday.
FWIW He got twisted up and I'm not sure he even knew which direction he was going for a moment. I hated it too though.
Lamar should've gotten more than 3 1st half carries, and he showed he can find the end zone in GL situations....just ridiculous the way they handled him yesterday in the 1st half
That nine yard loss is inexcusable. No decent RB does that. I felt he played fairly well other than that, including holding onto the ball, but he had a couple of decent runs up the middle and it sure would be nice if he could make somebody miss. Even miss a little.
Playing Moreno was likely a bad call. That said, Lamar Miller has a lot of opportunity over the years, and hasn't really done much with it until recently. He still has mental lapses in the passing game as well. At the very least, they should have split carries early.
I'd hoped to see Lamar get about 2/3s of the carries, and the rest split between Moreno (or none, since the brace was so concerning) and Williams. Poor Damien only got 4 snaps and only blocked.
That is because the "IDIOT" Philbin decided that he and not Lazor needed to call our offensive plays on our last series..I am still really passed off about this..why do we fans deserve this? Fire Philbin and promote Lazor to interim HC. for the rest of the year.
It didn't make sense to me. Miami's runningbacks were doing an adequate job. There was no reason to not wait until Moreno was 100%
Lamar tweaked knee in first half, missed a series and got it checked out. Not many chances, if you remember correctly.
