Wow. I don't recall seeing wheeler once, which is a huge step in the the right direction. I have to give credit to coyle and philbin for keeping wheeler on the bench where he belongs. I also think that resonates well with the players.
i saw his dreads out there flailing around...that #58 is gonna hunt his *** like arnold on the predator.. put wheeler on special teams..improve that depth.
Wheeler hasn't been awful this year, but his role is diminished and in further jeopardy. When McCain was out there this week he was largely a Nickel LB.
He gets out there. We rotate better at LB from what i've noticed. Mccain, Wheeler, Trusnik, Misi, Jenkins, they all play. He's not a complete and utter liability this season due to rotation. It only improves with DJ coming back too.
He did play some snaps on defense, but it sure looked like to me that McCain was out there a lot more, and had his most snaps in a single game so far. We opened in the nickel so Michael Thomas officially started, and only 2 LBs did, Misi and Jenkins.
Was that McCain that came to Finnegan's defense in the end zone with Marshall? He was ready to rumble.
I was driving and missed the game today, does anybody one have a replay of the shenanigans at the end?

He's listed at 6-5, 250 lbs... and he is only 22. He turns 23 right before Thanksgiving. He and Jenkins both are pretty young and have the makings to be good for a long time.
He has gained a lot of weight in the past 6 months, and it's good weight I'd say. At his pro day he only weighed 224, and did like only 9 reps on the bench.
Agreed, he is filling out nicely. Speaking of which, looking forward to seeing Dion Jordan back and what he looks like now. Hopefully, he is ready and unleashes Hell the rest of the season.
Jenkins was ranked with the ILBs by NFLDS coming out of college, which means that he could play either inside or outside I guess. Thinking long term, a LB trio of McCain-Jenkins-Jordan would sure be athletic and have me salivating.
they way his contract is structured we can't really cut him until 2016. his cap number next year is 4.4 mil, nearly all of it dead money if we cut him.
I don't....but it was really cool..MCCain just looked like some alien man getting in the face of brandon Marshall, made him look small and weak.
and our number 3 overall pick from last year is ready to come back, i think they told Reshad Jones to come back on tuesday after his suspension, curious to see what they do with jordan, Barry Jackson in one of this blogs from a couple of weeks ago, wrote that Jordan was already in Miami and was in great shape.
Both he and Jenkins seem to be great guys in that they are always leading a congratulatory celebration after a big play. I saw McCain on the sideline sitting next to Wake towards the end of the game. Pretty good guy to buddy up to.
my favorite McCain moment was when he stepped up in defense of Finnegan, when marshall tried to stir something up in frustration after that incomplete 4th down pass, marshall got pushed once by him and then he was gone...lol
And that, boys and girls is how your eventually earn a 'C' patch on your jersey. Really like what Mcclain brings to this team. And he's literally just getting started.
