This team isn't good enough yet to qualify for 'trap' games. If they collectively do, the coaching staff is worse than we think they may be now....

The Bears aren't a major victory or even a rival. For me this doesn't feel like a trap game. It was a nice win.

Now if they had just beat San Diego who is a top contender and then has the Jags, then this game would have some of that feel of a trap game to it.

i swear if I was a coach, and i saw a smidgen of that type of attitude in the locker room, i would go freakin loco on their asses, especially this particular team..they should be so freakin hungry its not even funny, there shouldn't be one once of satisfaction.

thats part of a coaches responsibility when you are chasing something bigger than regular season games.to get them to buy into something bigger..

The Oranges let Denard Robinson tear them up. In what universe is Denard Robinson going to be able to run on this Front 7?

Grimes and Finnegan had to go up against Nelson and Cobb and Jefferies and B-Marsh in consecutive weeks. The Jags WRs might feel like D3 College players after that.

You guys will win this game. I do think it will be closer then expected though due to maybe Miami looking forward to playing San Diego at home. I hope Miami comes out with the W which I think they will.

The last time we went to Jax - with Henne and Sparano - we were up 14-0 early in the second quarter. Running up and down the field on them, and then....classic Sparano. We do nothing on offense the rest of the game and barely hang on to win 14-10. Here's to not letting that happen again. This year's team needs to learn how to put a lesser team away, and it needs to start this week.

There's an article on one of the beat papers' site about being wary of this game and stating they've had a recent history of winning a big game and losing to a bad team the next week, and he wasn't talking about NE then Buffalo this year. He was talking about the Bucs, Bills, Jets last year.

Is it just me or does this year feel totally different than last year? Last year we were 3-0 with some well-timed great play, then proceeded to go 3-4 for a variety of reasons. Even at 3-4, we ended up 8-7 in a win-and-in situation for the playoffs. In that 3-0 last year, we beat two bad teams (Cleveland and Atlanta) and one good team (Indy). This year's 3-3 we beat 1 good team, 1 middle of the road team, and 1 bad team.

All that doesn't really mean a whole lot, and my point is it's a new year...new system...new OL...players reaching new levels in development we weren't seeing last year. I say let the past stay there. The team can prove they believe with a complete ***-whoopin' on the Jags this Sunday...BRING IT!

The Jags are the type of team that could beat the Dolphins.

    Last year.

Its 2014 now, we can run the ball and protect the passer. We can stop the run and pressure the QB without having to blitz. Any given Sunday applies to all games but realistically the Jags can either play conservative, keep it close and lose by a TD or go for the win and get plastered.

I remember the last game the Dolphins played against the Jags where Henne was the opposing QB. I would have wanted to die if Henne beat the Phins. Luckily the Phins handled them without much trouble. That was at home though.

Anyone still haunted by Marino's last game when discussing the Jags?

I actually think this is a big game for us.

The way the Dolphins have played in the past 3 games, the team is trending toward a playoff level of performance on both sides of the ball -- even including that lousy first half against a good Green Bay pass defense. If we go out and beat up the Jaguars, I'm going to drink the Kool Aid.

I'm trying to figure out how the dolphins have a top 5 defense but giving up the 15 most points

'Cuz there's no one single stat that tells the story. Yards-per-play doesn't account for losing the punting game, turnovers, etc.

Not sure if 12 men on the field, or delay of game.

Either way, both these franchises should be relegated.

So are the dolphins really a top 5 defense or are the numbers lying because they are giving up 23 points per game

“They don’t care that we won last week and vice versa. I think they’re going to come out, they’re playing at home, they’re energetic, they’re young, they’re coached well. I think they are looking for the next opportunity to get a win and we can’t let our guard down.” — Cornerback Cortland Finnegan on the Jacksonville Jaguars

I'm glad Bortles is starting, I don't think I could stomach seeing what Chad Henne considers play action.

I'm a Bortles fan. I think he's going to be a good one. Jags have some nice up and coming talent and they've played better than their record indicates, especially the last few weeks. We gotta be ready.

Bortles struggled last week against Cleveland pretty badly. Cleveland's offense just stunk even worse. Now, the Browns have a good corner duo, but we have some playmakers too, so hopefully we can continue the run of getting some turnovers and make them pay for it.

Rookie QB. Very weak running game. Pedestrian OL. Inexperienced WR.

Just take it easy on D and don't do anything stupid, and we should be fine.

I am not too worried about us facing their offense. I am worried about our offense facing their defense. They have moved up to 2nd best sacking defense with 22 sacks so far. They are averaging 3.333 sacks per game. Number one? Buffalo and we all know how that turned out

    Exactly.

You have to go into these games expecting, believing, you're going to face their 'A' game. Especially since the Jags managed to win een with Bortles playing poorly.

Look for Bortles to make accurate passes, even drop bombs.
Look for Denard to threaten with aggressive runs and expect him to run hard.
"I put on 15 pounds just to be able to take the pounding and just take the hits. ... be able to make guys miss and be able to deliver a blow sometimes,” Robinson explained on a conference call with the Miami media Wednesday. “That’s the reason why I put on the weight. They asked me to do that, and I was down for it.” "

Look for Joeckel to come hungry and be more of a wall than expected.

Look for RB Tony Gerhart to come backfrom a minor ankle injury hungry and determined to show up, especially when the Jags have a competition on for the starting RB spot.
“The way I was finishing runs, I didn’t have that same leg drive and push,” Gerhart said. “I was just kind of going down, covering it up and protecting it. I’m excited for it to be behind me and to get back to the way I used to run.”

Look for the re-shuffled defensive line to provide some surprises since their arrangement won't be something seen before, especially with Davis, a good, fast, inside pass rusher, moving to the outside.
“I pride myself on being well-rounded. I’m a football player first. I think I can play the run well. This will be a great opportunity for that.”

Their defense is something to watch.

And Tannehill has never posted back-to-back games with a passer rating above 100, or back to back games throwing multiple TD's and 0 INT's. So...big game for him regardless of the opponent. Important stretch here...Jags, Chargers, Bills. Lions isn't quite as important, get those AFC Wins and it won't be a must-win in DET.

Its fun to read the fantasy sites all rating RT, Miller and our D as some of the best options this week. I know games aren't played on paper, but we get talked up so infrequently, that its refreshing.

Arguably their best CB Allen Ball looks to be out for this game. Their rookie Center has also been dealing with an ankle issue but they will get Toby Gerhardt back.

An already suspect secondary should be ripe for the picking. If thill can't put together back to back great starts in this circumstance, I'm not sure he ever will. The last game and a half gives me hope that he has turned the corner. I don't know much about Ball or any of the Jaguars secondary but their stats are pretty bad. I did watch the jags - browns game on nfl rewind and the jags front 7 looked pretty good rushing the passer and stopping the run. Granted, the Browns have a very vanilla offense that featured lots of runs (poorly done runs) and a lot of playaction roll out, dump off passes. Jags running game looked good but their passing game was pitiful. Bortles threw 3 pretty bad interceptions. 2 were really bad. I'd be surprised if the Jags score more than 13 points without the help of big turnovers or special teams. Anybody know what their biggest weaknesses are in the secondary? Wr1, wr2, slot or te?

With their Injuries, best player/middle linebacker being out, we should play with these dudes.

When we beat the jags on Sunday it's gonna be really important to support this team against the Chargers, we will have to forget all the past and give the team new energy to draw From, we can't go into that stadium against the Chargers coming off a mini- bye on a two game losing streak any help, and by sitting on our asses holding some sort of grudge at that point does just that.

If the players hear the words "sell out" I guarantee victory.

We need to shake them..let them know they have lost 6 games already and put them back on track.

Alan branch, Paul P and their starting corners are out..Cyprien is a good player..Clemons good.

Yeah no, like I said if we struggle were behind in this 3 year process.

Been reading some stuff, dolphin fans expecting a huge turnout, they have two sections just from one fan club..jag fans say they expect 20 percent at least to be dolphin fans.

Their trying to rally their fans to shut us up..

Make the trip if your thinking about it, this might be a special season.

Apparently, they could be down to a couple of 7th rounders for last year starting at CB. If those are the starters, how bad are the nickle and dime backs? I say we spread the field and see how badly we can destroy their sub packages.
