So much sadness on the main page. You would think the Dolphins lost the game.

In the past previous 3 years, Miami finally has enough talent and playmakers to make up for coming out flat against a poor team.

Speaking of talent, how about Terrence Fede picking up the sack after Wake and Vernon cause Bortles to move up.

Way to go Fede! A player who was just excited to get drafted, now how his first NFL sack. I hope it is many more to come!

Funny thing is..if we rolled them 40-0 people would say..means nothing..it was Jacksonville.

Exactly. Things like this happen in the NFL. People forget that New England beat the Raiders by 7 points.

Also the Steelers who put up 51 points against the Colts, put up 17 points against the Jaguars.

How we played today will have very little to do with how we play next Sunday...

I'm hoping that you're right. I'm not confidant in it though. Not that I expect the team to play poorly, its just that I have no idea of what to expect from week to week.

Well, that really wasn't the way that it was for past good Fins teams. Win or lose, you generally got the same Fins team in the early 90s with Marino & Co. And then in the early 2000's under Wanny, same deal. The team had a consistant personality, both good and bad. Under Philbin, its been really inconsistant, both for better and worse. At least today when they were off they pulled it out.

Under Wanny, IMO the Dolphins always played down to their competition.

i think under previous regimes we had a habit of dropping the easy games. Say what you want, but we have done a better job of winning in those situations.

WADR, that's simply not true about Wanny.

We had the leading rusher and leading sack maker and we missed the playoffs....in an era where running the ball and getting after the QB was king.

This is why I'm always hesitant to use W/L as the sole determining factor of how good a coach is. Wanny's record was good, but if he was even halfway competent we'd have been in the thick of the SB hunt. **** him. No one but no one has done more damage to the Dolphins organization than Wannidiot.

Im confused by this. We were never, at any point in time, in any danger of losing the game. yes the score wasnt a blow out and maybe it was a little more tense then I would like but we never trailed. In fact, aside from the garbage time td, they're offense managed 6 pts. Our offense just didn't have the ball enough to put up a ton of points. They're strategy was to control the clock and sit on the ball. Which doesn't work when your qb throws two pick 6's, obviously.

Just like people calling it an ugly win. I mean, the dolphins were up 21 points with 2:19 left in the game... Could we have done some things better? Yes, but Jesus.

Not to mention he became the all time sack leader among Marist football players to ever play in the NFL.

Unrelated but also what a play by Jelani Jenkins on the bortles fumble. It was awesome to see a tomahawk strip work for us for once.

Oh they did for sure. Not saying he was a good HC, just that the team did what they were good at, week in and week out, for the most part. Lost a lot of games because they couldn't or wouldn't do more.

The 90s Marino teams could of course always pass the ball. The Wanny teams could always run. This bunch can some weeks do both, some do one or the other, and some do neither. You just never know what we're going to get once the game starts. And to an extent, the same is the case on defense.
