I'm nervous about this. We've seen Taylor struggle all year long, he's not a very good cornerback whether it's on the outside or in the Nickel.
Not a big deal for this week...We can deal with it. Watkins is nicked up pretty good; honestly he just looked bad last week and is not near 100%. Bills don't have a reliable perimeter #2 either. We'll hold their offense down pretty well, imo, regardless of whether Taylor gets the nod. Next week vs. Denver is another story...
Dropping Sammy Watkins in fantasy was the dumbest thing I've done all year. Just hoping Taylor doesn't get smoked too often. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4
I don't trust Jamar Taylor or Will Davis. Both will be used. Kevin Coyle made it a point to say that Will Davis will be used as well. There's a reason. Kevin Coyle loves Will Davis, even though virtually nobody else on the team does. There have been conflicts over this.
The really interesting battle could be in the slot where Chris "7-Eleven" Hogan will face off with Jimmy Wilson. If I recall the two were friends back when they were both at the bottom of the depth chart in 2012. Wilson used to cover Hogan a lot because of their positions and because of where they both stood on the depth chart. Now they'll re-kindle that battle in a real football game. It will be interesting to see what happens with that. Hogan was nicknamed "always open" by the other players for a reason, back when he was going against Wilson every day.
I never really attributed the name to Wilson, but it makes sense. Welp. Regarding Watkins....he killed us on crossing routes for the most part, not on the perimeter. I'm hoping Jordan dropping back into coverage will snatch one of those with his wingspan.
With a high ankle sprain - I don't see any way Finnegan plays (even if he did, I don't think he'd be effective). This is one reason I think it's not going to be a good night for Miami, unfortunately.
I was hoping that Taylor and Davis would step up this year and show they were both worth draft picks in 2013. So far I have been disappointed in the play of both of them and I see Hickey having to use some picks in next years draft to select some more young CB's for the future. Hopefully Finnegan will only be out for one game, because I really don't have much trust in faith in Taylor when we go against the better QB's on the schedule after the Bill's game. Hopefully Taylor can hold up against Orton and the WR's of the Bills. If I was the Bills OC, I would throw every pass in the direction of Taylor and make him prove he is up to the challenge.
Well.. taylor you want to play in this league.. Heres your chance. National TV.. Huge game.. some guys rise to the occasion.... I hope he's one of them.
Will Davis is awful. I've got more faith in Jamar Taylor...but I still don't think he's "starter" ready yet.
Taylor has 4.3 speed and excellent ball skills. If they try picking on him it may just be Jamar who does the picking. If he gets an interception with open field ahead of him nobody will catch him; not with Watkins dinged up and not with Marquise Goodwin expected to be inactive, and not with Spiller on IR.
And that's the only real extensive look we've ever really gotten of Jamar taylor. Let's give the kid a chance at least.
Look...I'm as big a proponent of giving players time to develop as anyone and I don't think the book is closed on Jamar. However I'd like to know which Jamar Taylor you have been watching, because the one Ive seen has been pretty terrible. Then again he wont have to cover Tate this week.
Indeed. Hopefully being a starter will allow Taylor to get into a rhythm and play better. Not sure what Coyle sees in Davis, do you?
Yeah I see Davis as a risk taker who doesnt have the speed or tackling ability to recover when beaten, that's a bad combo. Taylor seems more fundamentally sound but he seems tentative out there, hopefully more snaps will allow him to get the jitters out and just play. Kudos to Coyle for stonewalling on who he's gonna play. Slap the reporter who's asked that dumb *** question.
Im ready to see the kid play extensive snaps, I wanna know what we truly have, dude better start playing with some damn confidence..this is his chance to never relinquish the job..2nd round pick, has all the physical talent..needs to put it together now.
The only other time I remember seeing Taylor was against brandon marshall, another elite wr. If he can't handle woods tomorrow then we'll know a lot more about Jamar taylor
