Cooks was at 53 before being put on IR then, pretty impressive.

After that int, ya gotta give Miller some credit for his hustle to make the tackle. His not giving up on the play may have prevented a TD.

    Jelani MF'ing Jenkins!!!

16 tackles. 2 TFL. 1 QB hit. And broke up the final pass that Jones intercepted.

    LOVE this kid!

That play where he came across the formation and picked up the blitz, better than any of his catches.

I feel for Rex Ryan. Now* that he's no longer the coach of the Jets, I always liked him. Just like I always like Pennington and Chrebet. Feel bad for the guy; he's not a good enough head coach. It's sad to see people have dreams that are beyond them. I hope he has a successful future as a Def Coordinator for an NFC team.

I like Landry, but number of catches don't impress me much when they're at 9 ypc. These are really short passes. I don't see Hines Ward in him yet. Can he become a Wes Welker 110 catches 1,100 yards type of guy? I mean, Davone Bess was over 10 ypc ;)

I actually think he is a good head coach. When you're saddled with a crap GM and Geno Smith you arent winning many games. Especially as a defensive minded coach who isn't going to scheme around poor offensive talent.

That's what happens a lot in the NFL. You need a Qb to win. You have to develop him. But to develop him, you lose games, and then you get canned.

So tonight, Rex said fack it, I am running the ball, fack Geno and his development! I liked that. Rex giving the finger to Ownership.

Just stop. Landry is a tough kid and a playmaker.
I see OJ McDuffie. When I watch him. Trust me.

His YPC would be a lot nicer with that seam route. I mean...the kid just runs what he is told and gets open, then gets yards. He's playing within the offense and doing it better than anyone else on the team.

I do agree. But he's caught 75% of passes thrown at him. That might be amongst the top three in the NFL (we'll know when they update the stats). That's elite. There's a ton of "slot receivers" that are running the exact same high percentage routes he is. I have to give him props for doing better than anybody else.

The catch across the middle in the 1st half, he saw the oncoming Jet and he knew he was getting leveled.

Gruden even gave Landry big props for that.

    Players of the game

Jarvis Landry (his performances speak for themselves)
Reshad Jones (some great open field tackles, game winning int)
Ryan Tannehill ( For coming up big when it counts)
Lamar Miller (Can we give this guy the rock more Please!?)

I'd include RJ Stanford, for just quietly playing sound defense and not giving up any big plays, considering he was on the street 7 days ago, and got the start tonight.

Good call. I'm also including Dion Sims.

RJ Stanford future DPOY under Grimes tutelage. It'll be a better story than Cam Wake.

After the 1st Half gashing, the Dolphins D stiffened to allow 67 rushing yards and 3.3 a carry in the 2nd Half.

He's not, he's tied for 3rd. Peyton Manning has done it 6 times in a row on two separate occasions.

As much as the Run D struggled, the Jets still only managed 13 points (Granted there were 2 missed FGs). This game looked a lot like the Bills game where the Defence was getting thrashed for 2 quarters and a bit then they shut things down.

Their record aside, the Jets have great backs. But as Tirico kept saying last night, this could be the template to beat the Phins going forward. I'm hoping Finnegan comes back soon so they can focus on putting 8 or even 9 in the box to stop teams that want to run 13 times in a row like the Jets did.

As for the offence. Tannehill made plays when it mattered. This line is a drive-killer way to often but this offence has showed some brilliance. We'll see going forward. If they can run, they usually win. Simple as that.

Ultimately this is a rivalry game against a team that was embarrassed last Monday. I guess it was naive to think the Dolphins would just pummel them on the road, at night.

4 times in his career Ward averaged 10 YPC or less.

Welker has done it 6 times.

It's ok that his rookie year he's not averaging 17 YPC. he's not that type of player anyways.
