Is there anyway to reconstruct Wallace's contract? He shouldn't be making that kind of money, I rather us give that money to Landry.

    He's gone after June 1st, 2015. I wouldn't worry about it.

Wallace could agree to a restructuring, but he's got to agree. It's very unlikely that someone who has shown as little accountability as he has would agree to such a thing unless it was crystal clear to him that the market for his services would be bad elsewhere.

You don't have to wait, you can designate him a post June 1st cut and then get the same salary cap effect immediately. You should at least try to trade him though.

Even at a reduced contract, at this point you have to believe that he hurts more than he helps this team. Wallace needs to be cut for the benefit of the team. Bring in WR's that actually make the effort. This guy runs lazy routes and has no ability to make tough catches.

I think you do have to get rid of him regardless. His performance was downright detrimental to the team in 2013 and that's a risk moving forward, especially if you do find someone who can produce on deep targets.

I love how he slyly throws his QB under the bus when everyone and their dog saw what he did on that play. Oh the play is too tough so I'm not even going to try.

He's been talking big all year but he has done very little. For someone who's yet to clean up his house he sure likes to point out how dirty everyone else's house is.

After three weeks in a row of either dropping a TD pass or watching it sail right on by, I don't think he'd be too desperate to restructure anything. Why would he when he's getting elite pay for minimal effort?

This. A thousand times this. Never seen a guy less willing to help a QB. Landry is the antithesis to Wallace. Love Landry. Need 53 x Landry.

In his mind there is nothing he's done wrong, and he's correct to a degree. This offense doesn't suit his strength and our QB's deep ball just isn't good.

He's not even a top 40 WR and he's get #1 WR money. Unless it is detrimental to our salary cap, I don't know if we create another glaring hole in our roster for 2015. Maybe in 2016.

    I think you're correct.

Unfortunately, Wallace is in what can only be described as the worst possible fit for a WR whose primary talent lies in stretching the field.

Wallace was a great success in Pittsburgh and he'd probably be equally so in Baltimore or Indy who have offenses that push the ball aggressively downfield.

He couldn't have made a worse decision for his career than to come to Miami where the offense actively avoids going over the top.

He's a poor fit and it has a chance of becoming ugly. I'd be very tempted to ship him out unless the coaches feel like we will see a lot of downfield action next year.

If it's just about growth and offensive installation, we could very well see Wallace take strides next year, but that's based on whether or not Lazor, Tannehill and the offensive line can provide that opportunity.

There would be an almost 10 mil cap hit for cutting him, and only a savings of 2.6 mil. Yes you could spread the hit into 2016 by designating him post June 15, but why sabtague that season? Do you want him gone enough to stomach that?

No way he restructures. He's signed through 2017. I think he's likely gone after 2015 though. No guaranteed contract after next year and cap savings of 9.3 mil.

Not true about the bold. I believe he got a fair number of attempts last year. And this year, Lazor specifically said Tanny is not good at certain things so they minimized it. Things being the deep ball, hence the recent dink and dunk.

Losing roughly $4 million against the cap is not sabotaging anything, especially when you can roll the short-term savings over.

Getting play like you got from Mike Wallace in 2013, that is sabotage. You don't think that's a danger of reoccurring if he thinks his pay is safe? You're going to bet on Wallace conceding there are issues with him, rather than everyone else when the writing is on the wall he'll be playing for a team in a year or two?

You think Wallace is going to be a good citizen when the team finds someone else who eats into his deep targets?

    You are kidding, right?

We pay for him regardless if he is on the team or not. He is not going to take a pay cut either. He is open all day long. He is doing his job. He is not concerned about being on the market.

Brian Hartline in 2012 was better than anything Mike Wallace has done in years in terms of deep production. The Dolphins would be better off targeting virtually anyone but Wallace given his performance.

But yes, let's go out and find a quarterback for Mike Wallace, rather than the other way around. That makes loads of sense.

Dude. WE HAVE NO DEEP PRODUCTION FOR ANYONE ON THE TEAM. WE CAN'T DO DEEP. OUR QB HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO DEEP......EVER. STILL CAN'T DO DEEP. Hartline is still on the team and still is a no RAC guy. THE QB SUCKS AT DEEP AND HAS ALWAYS SUCKED AT DEEP AND MOST LIKELY WILL ALWAYS SUCK AT DEEP. Blame that **** in Mike Wallace or the next guy that is fast and gets open almost every play.

    Flacco can do DEEP.

Yea you can't give Tanny a new contract at this point, I would let it run out and give him a one year PROVE IT deal.

Sorry forgot that Tannehill can't throw to himself and catch it. Maybe Mike Wallace should actually not give up during a play in the endzone. Maybe Gibson should have caught that catch able throw.

While we are at it, Tannehill should start blocking for himself too, better than what Dallas Thomas is doing for him anyway.
