Custodian of the locker room and facilities maybe...the floors are probably spotless so I'll give him that.

I'll come clean. I was one of the 6 who "approved". I've been pretty consistent that I think that if Philbin can demonstrate improvement from last year to this year, I think he deserves another year. I'm pretty indifferent to whether or not he actually gets another shot. I certainly don't think he's done a great job but I'm trying not to be up and down on him based on the results of the last game and waiting till the entire season is over to make my meaningless judgement.

I think there should be less scrutiny on the handful of people who voted yes for joke reasons, etc., and more on the people who just suddenly caught on. If you were a fan of Philbin up until recently, you probably need to do some sort of serious self-assessment.

You have a guy who says he doesn't care about balance and would throw the ball all game and abandon the run, to abandon the pass and run the ball all game? You just argued yourself in a circle. He is the reason we don't run the ball more, but you defend him, and hope he runs the ball more.

This whole "fire everyone, it can't possibly be any worse than this" mentality is toxic and rarely gets us anywhere.

We seem to be operating under the assumption that
a). it really can't get any worse than this, and
b). the next coach (coach x) is guaranteed to make things magically better almost overnight, and if not, we will fire his staff because it can't possibly get any worse than whatever he does to screw it up.

This is not how you build a winning tradition. This is how you build a failure, with a revolving door at key organizational positions.

The sad thing is that fans actually get excited by these constant periods during which the team declares bankruptcy.

It's as though we all need to sit back and remind ourselves that getting a new coach should not be a happy and exciting experience.

Too many people enjoy the time talking about who the next coach will be and forecasting the moves.

It's easy to be a glutton for punishment when you're not really invested in winning or losing.

Ironically, it's those people that stand behind the banner that reads "win at all costs."

Except the cost of patience and commitment.

Dude, I've been invested since 66, I have spent many thousands on my team, ( do not gamble ) I bleed Aqua & Orange, my goodness I got into scuffles in school growing up about the Dolphins, I go through agony when they lose and am so happy when they win. Is that not invested in winning and losing? If it's not, what is invested enough for you my friend?

That is not what he said. He stated he wants a balanced offense.

    Who, Philbin?

    http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/s...ns-a-bit-pass-happy-in-2013-aiming-for/ngsPf/

60/40 is not balanced. It's just slightly more balanced than the lopsided 63 they passed last year.

It's where he came from. This summary attributes Green Bay's pass/run ratio to Philbin, but we all know he didn't call plays. But it's what the came from.

    http://www.footballperspective.com/which-coaches-are-the-most-pass-happy/

His balance offense, in his own words, is an unbalanced offense. Just not an extreme one. It's like saying you want to be in the center, like a progressive, rather than on the left, like a communist.

We are at 41%, right in between the 40-42% target Philbin set.

Tell me more how it's Lazor's fault we are passing too much. This will be fun.

60/40 is a 3/2 ratio., that means 30 passes, 20 runs. We are running 2/less than 1, Lazor did 39/16 last game, 20/3 in the first half against the Jets. That is wild. That is not Philbin.

Big important things are Philbin. Details like play calling and subs on packages, and not seeing wide open Landry are on others.

Id give philbin one more year and only because of ryan tannehill. I dont know if tannehill is the future but theres a chance he might be. 3 systems in 3 years would kill and hope that remains with him. Add to the fact that there will be alot of fired coaches this offseason, chances of getting someone decent are slim. Pick up offensive line atleast 2 of first 3 picks, a linebacker and a corner.

Philbin is nothing more than a glorified assistant coach. He is misplaced as the head guy. I don't understand how some of you can't see that.

Do any of you believe he will ever again a sniff as head coach once he leaves Miami? I would bet my house that he returns to Green Bay and spends the rest of his career as an assistant making PowerPoint presentations on upcoming opponents.

I agree. A week or two ago the disapproval rating was only like in the mid-60's I believe. Suddenly it's 90-plus. These people are only just now catching on?

Delivered what? It is also known within the team that Philbin over rides Lazor's playcalling quite often as he get's Queasy. Wake up Dez. Philbin has delivered nothing except a different way of getting us to the same mediocre results.

I haven't been a big Philbin fan from the beginning and I still am not. So maybe its just my contrarian streak, but a 90+% disapproval rating seems a little extreme for a team that is still in the playoff race and which may end up improving its record for a third year in a row. Granted, I am in that 90+% but I don't think the Ravens game was mostly on the coaches, and if we had won that I suspect his approval rating here would have been over 50%.

Lol..this is true and the reason for Tanny"s big jump this year Dez is because of LAZOR & MARINO'S GUIDANCE.

Yes, Especially some of the sorry players that Philbin had to get rid of like Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, Kevin Burnette, and Karlos Dansby the latter 2 he had to get rid of because he wanted Wheeler & Ellerbee..just for starters.
