http://phinphanatic.com/2014/12/16/miko-grimes-says-miami-dolphins-support-philbin-not-tannehill/ This ought to be good. I'm sure the hate will come down on Miko, but she is simply answering the questions asked. Enjoy
Of course she is going to answer it that way.. I mean her beloved superstar plays on our craptastic D that blew at least 3 games, no? Makes that unit look a lot better if the quarterback is the problem.
Should they be interviewing other players wives? Not directed at you, but I could not care any less what she has to say...Would it be any better if they asked Hartline GF or Wheeler's wife what they think? She is obviously biased in her views, as would others who also have agendas on their slate. Her opinions carry liitle weight to me , as I'm sure they carry as little weight to the decision makers in this org.
I love Brent Grimes and think Miko is funny, but their "crowd" is mostly the idiots and ****-ups on the roster. They're real big Mike Pouncey fans. The person who listened to the Big O to get this information should probably be getting a medal of honor though.
I'm sure the veteran receivers partially blame Tannehill for their own poor play, as none of them are putting up good numbers. And those wide outs have probably poisoned some of their close friends who play other positions.... Miko says it's a tough question, so it sounds like he has supporters and detractors.
This. So much this. She's influenced by what her husband thinks. And her husband is among a small but strong few who have supported Joe Philbin for a while (Cameron Wake is among them, just so you know). But she doesn't talk to the other players independently as much as she lets on.
Our defense right now has no say in anything. If they prefer philbin, they should have ****ing played like it
I like Brent Grimes, but I have to say, I somewhat look forward to the day he is released so I will never have to hear about this woman ever again. I appreciate that she wants to have a media career, and I'm cool with Brent Grimes supporting it, but for god sakes, can we lay down some ground rules? Can you not talk about what other players are saying when they probably didn't expect that you would then talk about it? You're not a reporter Miko and since you clearly have no boundaries and don't seem to follow any journalistic ethical code, I can't believe any one on the team gives you the time of day. As for the substance, I don't care. I don't care if the players don't want Philbin fired and I don't care whether or not they like Tannehill.
So... you guys just flippantly dismiss what she said? That is a person with a lot more inside info than any of you have. I'm not saying she's right, but I will say one thing that I'm 100% sure of... it is a distinct possibility that you guys are all DEAD WRONG about Philbin... and Lazor... and Tannehill... and Coyle... and everything else. That's why when I answered 'no' in the poll that asked whether I approve of the job Philbin is doing, I added that I'm not in the locker room. I don't actually 100% know what's going on. I have an opinion... but, it's only an opinion. I'm as upset as anyone that the Phins are very likely going to miss the playoffs again, but, I'm not 100% convinced Philbin is the issue. It's going to be hilarious if all you 'forum experts' are wrong, and Philbin is our head coach next season. Absolutely. Hilarious.
Even if Jason Trusnick wanted to have babies with Joe Philbin there is nothing he can do on the football field to "prove it."
Hilariously painful for the franchise and all it's fans... I sure hope the players aren't running the franchise at an executive level. You can draw whatever conclusions you want from Miko, but whatever the players think is barely relevant IMO. The inmates shouldn't be running the asylum.
If you're so smart, put a resume together and pass it off to Ross. Coach or GM. Your choice. Show us all how it's done.
How will anybody be dead wrong if he's the coach? Nobody knows what Ross will do. We're all just giving opinions. And Miko may be repeating what she heard exactly. And that makes what difference? It doesn;t surprise me that Philbin has some supporters on the team. He's a nice guy, fairly easy going. Doesn't yell and scream. You can play like crap and not get benched most of the time. You don't seem to have much pressure put on you to win, or even compete. And then when you add to that, that the next coach is likely to be an *** kicker, it's not surprising that some players prefer the comfortable status quo.
The second she says something that "we" want to hear, that's when. If she had come out bashing Philbin and saying he needed to go it'd be received much differently.
I'll take a dual role... I run my touchball team and graduated college with honors. I'll be waiting by my phone!
We heard this same kind of talk when Sparano and Henne were here. Didn't mean jack to me then and it doesn't now regarding Philbin/Tanny.
Exactly, with all due respect to the Phins.com sources...maybe she doesn't know all that much, but it's a helluva lot more than people here. Right or wrong she hears what she hears from the players, not a friend of a friend of a friend.
Do you have any links or evidence backing up what their "crowd" consists of? Just curious, sounds like you have some good inside info.
For our many 'forum experts', it's standard operating procedure. Opinions are stated as fact. Anyone who disagrees is belittled. Anyone who agrees is exalted. They pat themselves furiously on the back when they turn out correct, and they never, ever... EVER... admit when they are wrong. Oh... and they ALWAYS know better than the 'morons'.
I don't really care what the players think. Tony Sparano got players to vouch for him without going through their wife-agents.
In regards to what was actually said.... Philbin does strike me as a players coach, much like Wanny and Sparano. Most locker rooms are tight, so this isn't all that surprising. In regards to some players not supporting Ryan, Iam puzzled as to why...is it his lack of emotion?? No idea, I certainly doubt the players feel like they are losing because of Ryan as someone suggested. But, Iam curious as to why there may be be some distain towards 17.
I hope philbin gets canned and unlike you I AM SICK OF LOSING somebody has to be accountable and the players don't seem to have a wining attitude. it philbin stays then I hope we lose every game next year because we wont be going to the playoffs anytime soon . the Bills have a better coach the jets may get Harbaugh and if they do I hope we lose and lose big because this wining 7-8or 9 games does nothing to better us. and add to it a lousy coach like Philbin will hold us down.
All we've heard all season long is how players have been calling out the coaching staff. Just last week we saw Odrick blow up on Philbin. None of what Miko says holds any more water than any of the local media people.
Its fear of the unknown. When you look at the alternatives being mentioned like hard *** Harbaugh ,players would rather have stabilility and apparently Philbin is easy to live with.
Personally I don't trust human beings in general to know that. Some do know...some don't. Everyone thinks they do though in my experience.
This is the kind of stuff that irks me. My guess is, you have absolutely NO CLUE as to what Odrick was yelling about. He could have been yelling about the defensive scheme, or Coyle, or Jimmy Wilson, or Tannehill, or the equipment manager for all you know. I think you don't like Philbin, you saw Odrick barking, and you filled in the blanks with your own assumptions. You brought it up, so I'm going to ask... do you know, for a fact, what Odrick was yelling about or are you just talking out of your butt?
It's puzzling, yes he struggles with the deep ball and may lack the necessary leadership skills...but is that enough to chastise some people in the locker room?
I don't know. I sure hope Tanny gets it figured out. I really like his skill set, and I'm tired of this team having to reset every other season.
Read what I said again: "I'm as upset as anyone that the Phins are very likely going to miss the playoffs again..." You're just mad and you want to argue.
