Numbers don't matter, we want Tannehill to escape and pass on the run, avoid the rush and sacks. :shifty:

Pretty interesting to me that Tannehill had 4 straight games with runs of 20 yards and yet people are saying he didn't use his athleticism enough?

Personally, I thought there were numerous plays he could've scrambled, but you want your qb to scan the field and hit a play rather than run at first sign of pressure

Well.. Bout all I'm gonna say is, you wanna bail on Tannehill that's ur choice. But good chance we win with him as our QB, and I really don't want to hear how big a fan of him you are then..

I blame the stadium. If the stadium were better, everyone on this item would be a probowler.

All joking aside, aren't the stands supposed to be closer to the field next season? That would help.

This adage is another reason I just can't agree with DJ. We haven't had QB play come anywhere near this level in almost 20 years.

You don't want the "BS ranking" concerning the defense because it's fraudulent (I agree by the way) but yesterday when defending Tannehill you said "stats are what they are".

    Good times.

I also said there are reasons that we could argue about as to WHY the stats for Hartline are what they are. Again, your twisting what I said, trying to make something out of nothing. It is a fact that Tannehill had more deep success with Hartline in 2012 than he has had with Wallace. Again, that STAT doesn't mean that Hartline is a more dangerous threat on the field than Wallace. So, much like I don't care what the stats say our defense is, I don't care what that stat says Hartline is. Unfortunately, you wanted to argue that Tannehill didn't have more success with Hartline deep than he has with Wallace, which is where we started debating. Remember my 10/400 > X examples to spell it out for you?

You talk about guys having a man crush on you, but you follow me around like a lost puppy.

That's just not true, Rogers is not my standard, the standard is a level of play that is required to win under pressure on the road.

DJ, you don't have to be a scrambling QB to win playoff games. I get that with Ryan's athleticism, that's what you want from him. I just think that with an oline that gives average protection, Tannehill does just fine. Or an oline that doesn't give up quick pressure from all angles, you might see Tannehill scramble more. But he needs a place to escape to, to scramble, and he generally doesn't have it. The DEs come around the ends while the DTs collapse the pocket from the inside. How many times this season have we seen Tannehill grabbed from the side/behind while having his center and guard shoved into his grill from the front? Far too many times.

I'd like us to have Rodgers or Brady but we can win with Ryan. When he has protection and the defense holds its own we have a great chance of winning games. We keep Tannehill and build around him until we luck into another HOF Qb, which is very unlikely. I think you're standard for Qb play is kind of absurd, you just aren't going to just get a HOF Qb any offseason you go looking for a Qb.

C'mon brother..he did that against Denver - just to watch the D give it up, gave them the lead against a tough Detroit team in their house late - just to watch the D give it up, and beat the Jets in NY where Miami hadn't won a prime time game in over a decade.
He's not without his warts, but if the rest of this team is AVERAGE, we're not focusing on every single little thing Tannehill doesn't do perfectly

The overall game was pathetic, the coaching, the defense, the lack of aggressiveness by coaches on first and five, two 4th and ones not going for it, the oline, and last but not least the inability of the QB to take it upon himself to move anywhere in the pocket to reset a platform...like not One freakin time did he move off his mark..

Again, DJ, WHERE did you want Tannehill to move to? The pocket was collapsed from all sides, just like it had been for pretty much every season Tannehill has been here. He can't step up in the pocket, the center is pushed back. He can't go right or left cause the tackles and guards are pushed back or just being run around. I guess he could run backwards.

I should of explained a little more in detail, I think I could win 10 games in a regular season with the biggest caveat ever, and that is if his skillset is maximized, and nobody here can tell me or prove to me that is taking place in games like today and games during the year that are similar, and when I say similar I mean once again, not enough read option keepers, not enough rolls, boots, and once again not 1 freakin run from the pocket for a first down, I think over the span of the last five games you might not be able to track one run by him where he tucks it and goes for the first down..it's completely inexcusable for a qb like this, and if your satisfied with him playing the game strictly from the pocket and not utilizing the skillset, nor the strengths that he does possess your going to find yourself talking draft in December again next year.

How are you all not pissed off that his skillset is not being utilized?, why are you content with losing while his skillset is not being maximized?

Folks who believe in Tannehill are just as upset about losing as you are. Don't pull that crap.

JM, With the kind of pressure he is under you would think you would see some sight of some instincts to run...no, you don't, you just see a qb going to the same spot and taking the hit..I mean at some point, you gotta say to yourself, I'm gonna give my first read a look, and if it's not there, I'm out..this can happen, this is not impossible..I sat right behind him and watched his feet, you might as well put a target back there because his *** ain't moving from it..

Most of you know I would not be going here unless I just couldn't take it anymore, I've given him ample time, I'm just not confident in his ability to make some plays on his own, and I'm very confident that those kind of plays are required when trying to chase a championship.

Ryan Tannehill plays the position pretty much like a robot, there really is no feel, especially down and distance, he takes the phrase stick to the script to the extreme..

So you think it's normal for this qb to never run? You think he has nothing to do with 100 sacks in two years?

When it's third down and short and he's dropping, you are not getting any threat to run from the qb, which means imo he is completely one dimensional, defenses do not have to worry about him running regardless if they turn their backs to him, wanna know why?, cause he never freakin does it Alex...it's really gotten to the point of idiotic.

Apparently you and I have not been afforded the same opportunities, because I surely have never seen a robot play QB so I have no comparison as it relates to Tannehill's play.

Wrong, there was a read option on the TD run from Thomas. He made the right read and handed the ball several times. If you were at the game, it's difficult to see because it moves so fast. I agree with you his skill set isn't maximized. That could be said of Jordan, Wallace, and several others. It's not a big revelation but this game isn't on Tanne.

Lol, you funny brandon, I would settle for what Tom Brady did to us last week, you know, took off and ran for a first down, jumped a linebacker with a pump fake then finished by lowering his shoulder, getting up and talked some sh&$ to his opponent, then reeled off 28 strait..unanswered..lol.

whats funny to me is I keep talking about these issues, they kept showing up during the season, and here we are buddy, home for the holidays..again, with another embarrassing loss at home against the jets...you have got to be kidding me...make a freakin play..one....damn....play...

The problem is you see no difference between types of pressure. You see just pressure, and believe a QB should escape any pressure.

The kind of pressure other teams have gotten on us last year and this year (after the line tanked), was pressure Barry Sanders couldn't even maneuver through.

Noone said or implied that Tannehill was perfect. yet like I stated before..he is problem 101 out of 100 on this team. Just an odd time to point it out when you had scores of people who were blatantly horrible and showed little heart for playing today. Tannehill took a beating..and stood up like a man
