All tags and tenders must be submitted before by 10:00PM ET on March 1, 2015.

    Exclusive Rights Franchise Tag
An exclusive-rights franchise tag is a 120% raise of the average top five player salary of its position in 2015. It will allow teams to make sure they get their target without any disturbances. An exclusive-rights franchise tagged player can be added to the team's roster right away.

    Non Exclusive Rights Franchise Tag
A non-exclusive franchise tag is the average top five player salary of its position in 2015. Other teams will have a window during free agency to make a bid on the tagged player. If a bid is made on a non-exclusive rights tagged player, you have the option to match the winning offer or accept compensation. If you accept compensation, your franchised player will go to its new team (no dead money involved) and you will receive two first round picks from the bidding team.

    Transition Tag
A transition tag is the average top ten player salary of its position in 2015. Teams will have a window during free agency to make a bid on the tagged player. If a bid is made on a transition tagged player, you have the option to match the winning offer. You will receive no compensation from the bidding team if you choose not to match.

    Amount of Tags Per Team
Teams have a choice of using either the Exclusive Rights Franchise Tag OR the Non-Exclusive Rights Franchise Tag OR the Transition Tag. Which means if you tag a player with any of the tags, then you cannot tag any other players at all. This applies only to unrestricted free agents.

    Restricted Free Agents
A restricted free agent is a player who has accrued no more than three seasons in the NFL. Once tendered, they are allowed to negotiate with other teams during a specific window of free agency. If a bid is made on a tendered restricted free agent, you have the option to match the winning offer or accept compensation. If you accept compensation, your restricted free agent will sign with their new team (no dead money involved) and you will receive the appropriate level of compensation from the bidding team. The maximum compensation you can receive for an original round tender is a third round draft selection.

    Exclusive Rights Free Agents
An exclusive rights free agent is a player who accrued two or less seasons in the NFL. They cannot negotiate with other teams. An exclusive-rights free agent can be added to the team's roster right away.

Trading Or Cutting A Tagged or Tendered Player
You may trade or cut tagged or tendered players once said player is officially on your roster however their contract is fully guaranteed so you will take a full dead money hit right away. Once a tagged or tendered player is traded, his dead money charge can be changed to ($0) since the penalty has already been paid in full by the original team.

Bleeding out my rear end after that tagging. $30 million in tags. Thank you Dez and all you damned undrafted RFA's. Couldn't have been drafted so I could original round some of your asses. Bleh.

    Ugh. That sucks.

With this done, does that mean I'll finally get that offer from the Patriots Griddles?

So I have a lot more cap space than I thought I did. That leaves me with the tough decision to either shell out a fortune to keep Suh, or tag Fairley for a lot less. Decisions, decisions.

Yah I'll be keeping Dez for sure at this tag level. I can't see how anyone could put an enticing offer and keep it low cap cost to where I can shrug off $20+ million in dead cap.

Couldn't go non exclusive as some *** would just trade down to 31 and trade up to the 32 spots.

Believe it when I see it. As it is I need to clear roughly $9 million just to make cap and draft picks ;p

One thing I never grasped was the right of first refusal. Can that be applied to any type of free agent? Or RFAs?

    All ERFA/RFA only:
    Exclusive Rights $585,000.00
    Right of First Refusal $1,390,000.00
ROFR & Original Round Compensation $1,510,000.00
ROFR & Second Round Compensation $2,300,000.00
ROFR & First Round Compensation $3,270,000.00

Exclusive Rights/Non Exclusive Rights and Transition Tag are for UFA's. Transition tag basically is right of first refusal with no compensation for UFA's.

So right of first refusal is if I tag Will Hill for instance (which I did) and you offer me the predetermined compensation (tagged at a 1st round level) I can refuse your offer of the first and keep the player.

After a discussion with a couple people, I've decided to revamp the tag positions to Defensive Line, Pass Rusher, and Linebacker. I know that this is something I never did in the past however this is something that is going to be a long-term change so I don't mind making it now. We normally didn't come out with the tag numbers until later than this date anyways so it shouldn't cause much of a stir outside of those directly impacted (and I know the sole reason they will argue against it is because of this). This is final so it won't be changed and people can move on without wondering how much they'll spend. I'm not going to discuss this any further. Baltimore, Kansas City, and Tennessee are allowed to remove their tags if they wish. If they make no announcement whatsoever, it will be assumed that they will pay the price of the new tag amount.
