Bidding on cut free agents will begin on February 23 at 12:15AM ET. The re-sign process will begin on March 2 at 12:15AM ET. Unrestricted free agency will begin on March 9 at 12:15AM ET.

    1. We use a bidding format in the free agency forum designated by position during unrestricted free agency. Cut free agency and the re-sign process will each have their own thread.

    2. When a bid lasts 24 hours without being raised, the bidding team is awarded the player.

    3. The minimum bid is $510,000. Undrafted free agents may be offered $420,000. There is no maximum bid.

    4. You cannot go over the salary cap at anytime with your bids (does not include draft pick salaries). If you need more room to make a bid, you'll need to find a way to add more salary cap space to your team.

    5. You cannot have more than 7 bids simultaneously, if you do, you will forfeit your most recent bid to get you at 7 bids. This includes both positional free agents and cut players.

    6. You cannot trade players you sign in free agency. You may trade your franchised/transitioned players or RFA tenders. You can cut players signed to contracts but must absorb all of it as dead money. Minimum signed contracts carry no dead money. You may not use your June 1st designation on a signed free agent.

    7. You may retract minimum bids ($510,000) ONLY.

    8. Minimum bid increments are as follows:
    Under $1,000,000: $100,000
    $1,000,000 - $5,000,000: $250,000
    Over $5,000,000: $500,000

    9. Please do not welcome players to your team in the player's position thread. It only makes a mess and there will be a thread specifically for you to welcome your players.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Keep in mind that you guys will only be able to have seven active bids combined and you must stay under the salary cap with your bids. Keep track of who you're bidding on because if you have more than seven active bids or go over the salary cap, we will retract your most recent bid(s) until you are legal.

Keep in mind how much your draft pick salaries are because you'll need room to sign them if you do. You do not need have the required space before the picks are made, but you must have the space when you go to sign them.

Let's say Paul drunkenly signs Jonathan Martin to $1,250,000, The next morning he rolls over in his bed, turns on his phone, and realizes the mistake he has made.... he will have the option to eat Jonathan Martin's entire contract as a dead money charge and remove him from his roster. He saves no money but he doesn't have to deal with "bullying" rumors.

What was the reasoning behind ditching the 50k bids? No criticizing, just curious.

Less math.... and I'd rather just get straight to the point early on. Not sure if that's a good reason but it's my reason, I guess.

I'm pretty sure some of you would bid up player by $1 if it was allowed.
