I have a strange feeling....come tomorrow...we will have acquired A.Johnson,V.Wilfork,D.Revis,and D.Murray....it's funny the events surrounding these players.....Soooooo Dolfan fans, just sit back and watch us finish this masterpiece......
I wouldn't hold your breath for a lot of activity. The message Tannenbaum had to Barry Jackson today was basically to be patient and wait out the long game. They're going to roll out the red carpet for Suh, lots of pomp and celebration. They might not even want to announce any other players on the same day, so as not to distract from this glorious achievement of theirs signing the most impactful free agent since Reggie White (or so goes the theory). Aside from the draft the next biggest acquisition might not happen until June. Might see a couple of kind of minor acquisitions during March. Although Andre Johnson is out there and a wildcard, but his brother supposedly tweeted that Andre's preferences are the Patriots, Packers, Colt and Seahawks...all teams with top notch elite QBs.
Yup. After the initial flurry it's generally about waiting things out, sussing out the draft, and a staring match to determine who needs whom more: the unwanted/unsigned player or the team with a need. The June 1st thing figures in, obviously too. Also, it's only after that first rookie mini camp that it seems like Coaches go back to the front office and say, "yo, this draft pick or that draft pick ain't gonna start for us this year so we still need an X, Y or Z position guy." That and camp injuries eventually make a team blink and sign a vet... or the vet gets antsy and decides to settle for less money than his ego told him he'd get in March.
If Johnson wants to come home and play for a reduced contract, I could envision him in a Dolphin uniform next year. He he is the only player on your list I think the Dolphins might have a chance at signing. Revis is far too expensive since he is looking to be paid at least $15 million next year. Murray is looking to be paid a lot of money and the Dolphins just don't have the cap room to give him the type of money he is looking for. Unless Wilfork is willing to sign for far less than he can probably get with another team, I just don't see him playing for the Dolphins next year. He might have been a decent short term answer at DT if Suh had not decided to sign with the Dolphins but since Suh is coming to Miami, Wilfork is not a need at this time.
That gut feeling is called the munchies. Head to Taco Bell and buy them out of Choco Tacos and it will all better bro.
If I had to bet I would bet we wont sign any of the aforementioned players . Johnson wants to play for a team with an elite QB and is leaning to the Pats according to a friends tweet. BTW Welcome to the site where dreaming is allowable. After all why are we still Dolphin fans after all of the recent frustrating years.
I remember a few years back Vince Wilfork said he would never play for the Miami Dolphins... As for the OP, I'll take whatever it is your having...
Sounds like a plan but. A. Johnson = Draft V. Wilfork = Suh D.Revis = Draft D. Murray = Draft or a FA still left after the draft to back up Miller. Sorry to crash the dream.
i can think of a couple of posters who still shouldn't be allowed to start a thread, even if they hit 10K posts.
My gut feeling is that I am not going to have a productive day at work because I will be reading about football.
You must be great to drink with... One of those, hey I've got a gut feeling I'm going to pick up the two hottest girls at the party and have a 3some, kind of guy.
