http://www.miamiherald.com/614/story/619349.html Chad Henne arrived on the first day of camp, during which two players were cut to send a strong message to others.
Thanks, Mary. At least Jeff gives a more unbiased and realistic report than the guys from the other papers.
I love it!!! No Camp Cupcake this year. If you're out of shape, you're out of here. How bad do you want it?
I'm not so sure that these cuts mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things...It's not like either had a chance of even starting, both would have been lucky to make the 53 man squad and both are guys from the previous regime... At any rate, if the rest of the players view the fact they were cut as disciplinary moves, I'm all for it...
dang near spewed my coffee.. cracked me up good. I don't know if the cuts "meant" much, but I feel certain that notice was taken by everyone.. NEXT year they will remember that those who came in out of shape will be out of a job, maybe even after one practice. Hey Mark.. you tekkin' Hair?
The cuts, in the grand scheme of talent acquistion, meant nothing. However, they went a long way in continuing to set the tone of this team. Accountablility, no nonsense, football. Gotta like what we see.
Best quote was: ''These new guys, they're laying down the law and they're holding people accountable. The two guys that weren't in shape got waived,'' running back Ricky Williams said of tackle Dan Gore and receiver Justin Wynn. ``Coach [Tony Sparano] is making us accountable, so everyone is stepping to the plate.'' I agree they were not guys who really meant much to the roster, but they are the examples that will set the attitude for the rest of the roster. That first week of school the teacher always made an example of someone to show they mean business and these two guys were the examples. There's a fire under a lot more guys asses than before. I can guarantee this team will be a hungry team and there will be no more stories of heated dominoes and card games in the locker room this year.
