Apparently AJ Francis is your man: http://www.myfoxny.com/story/28878896/nfl-lineman-moonlights-at-uber-driver
I'm in decent shape. I work out every day. What does that have to do with a young guy who is supposedly trying to get into the DL rotation wasting his time for what averages out to be about 7-10 bucks an hour when it's all said and done? I've looked into it. Getting lean and mean and focusing on a new pass rush move or two and developing a stronger set of hands might get him a multi-million dollar contract some day.
You can't work out all the time. Unless you are on serious steroids, the body needs rest to heal. Either Uber driving or Madden.
Smooth... yeah his salary might be $510k but after payroll tax and income tax and paying his agent, he's in the $200k range. While I wouldn't need a second job at that level, this guy apparently does
I'm sure the Uber driver will entail hours that will preclude him from working out for his real profession. Because he is wanting to do this has absolutely no correlation to his ability to play football. The only correlation that has been forth is based on the largely uniformed opinion of someone who in all likelihood doesn't even know Francis. How someone can make a statement as to someone's work ethic etc., when they are actually taking on more work that isn't the main line of income is beyond me.
If I decided to roll the dice on any unlicensed transportation provider I wouldn't chose an NFL player making six figures. I'd try to support the avg. Joe trying to make a living. I have no issue with him having a second job but again I'd support someone that actually NEEDS that job to make a living.
Interesting, Wake's dong is also an Uber driver. Ever since Wake told it to "get a job and pay for your own meals" already.
No, no *** eater, not even close, but what IS, so repugnant about expecting our players to work, work, and work some more in the off season to become true professionals.
I think everyone missed the point here...will he be a good Uber driver or not? The world needs better Uber drivers. How well does his skillset translate to Ubering people around? I've had several drivers that were terrible, however you get what you pay for. If AJ winds up as a black car driver, this will be a win-win.
Where are you driving, boondocks tennessee? I know Uber drivers making 6-7k in SF. A friend's wife and her family owned a taxi company here in San Diego. They gave up the license and the fleet and they all drive Uber now.
Not sure what the big deal is... Hartline worked at his grocery store in the offseason lol... No one works out everyday, that's how you have collapsed muscles/injuries...
