So you're ok with a BELOW average injury prone MLB? Brilliant.

Yeah, people have different opinions on what is important.. just so you know. Unless you want to pigeonhole yourself into the position where you NEVER question what this team does, because I could just throw back the same argument you gave above back at you!

Do you realize that "evidence" doesn't imply "know with certainty"? I guess not. I gave an example of a team that basically showed their willingness to trade for a certain value and to a team that took the position we would've wanted in the scenario I described. That's way better than your position which is basically implying we can't ever say there was a willing trading partner unless teams explicitly say they were willing to trade. That is just absurd beyond what I guess you can understand.

Once again, we're at the point where I'm not going to keep up silly debates like this with you (and seemingly ONLY you on this board). Believe what you want. I'm starting to think you're trying to just cover up a bad argument with insults.

You guys realize there are more rounds to this draft and lot of talent still out there. We'll be active in the 4th and 5th with 5 more picks to play with.

OGs, DBs, LBs and RBs await. ;-)

Yeah, overall I'm still happy with this new front office. Phillips looks like a good player and not a reach, which is not something I always thought with Ireland. I just preferred a different approach, but I can live with the pick. If they can get 3 starters out of this draft, then I'll really be happy. We'll see!

lol. You, cbrad, are the one that said there's NO QUESTION. By saying there's no question it is you, cbrad that is saying there's no differing opinion. What effing bizzaro world did I enter? I am the one saying there is differing opinion.

    Sighhhhhhhhhhh

And I gave you an example of the trade requiring more. But once again, it is youcbrad that is saying something did or did not happen with conviction and not one single solitary fact. You have no idea who offered or didn't offer a trade. You have no evidence, no facts, no anything. And people like you do this every year. You don't have the freaking foggiest notion what went on.

If you said I wish we could have traded up, that's one thing. But that';s not what you did, you spoke with conviction on something you have not even the slightest morsel of truth about.

Don't act like you use words literally all the time.

Once again, I'm talking specifically about Cleveland. Try arguing that one specific proposed trade. And there were lots of facts in what I said. Should I do a "Fin D" and act like everything you said must be taken literally? OK, then you just lied by saying I didn't provide any facts. See the absurdity?

To make something that should be obvious clear: I never implied absolute certainty that the trade was possible. I just gave evidence (which doesn't imply certainty) that it was possible. Still waiting for evidence from you that the Cleveland trade was not possible.

Look, you are the one saying definitively that they didn't try to trade up. You are saying that it is a given Misi sucks. All I did was say you can't know if they tried or not. I also said Misi is not cut and dry horrible. Then you turn around and accuse me of specualting and saying things are only one way. Its crazy is what it is.

Where did I say that they definitively didn't try to trade up? Never said that. I said I'd be surprised if they did. Oh, and I even explicitly told you one could use different words to describe Misi's performance at MLB, etc.. Point is, I've repeated several times to you that evidence doesn't imply certainty. You shouldn't keep acting like I said otherwise.

    And yet....

You claim not trading up was their strategy. You are saying they purposely chose not to trade up. It doesn't get more definitive than that.

There's a difference between saying "they didn't try to trade up" vs. "they purposely chose not to trade up". I agree with the latter (that's what actually happened), but that doesn't imply the former. Having said that, I would be surprised if they did try to trade up because it seems like they had a different value assigned to Kendricks than I would've preferred.

The difference is irrelevant because you have no idea which (if either) is true. You are literally just making up what they did based on 0 info.

Wrong again. First, you accused me of something (many things) that wasn't true, second I didn't make up a lot of things, and 3rd it wasn't 0 info.

Anyway, I'm done talking to you on this.

That's probably a good idea on your part, because you're just not making sense anymore.

    - You say its their strategy that they didn't trade up but then say that it wasn't definitive.
    - You've speculated that they didn't try to trade up and when I say we don't know what they did, you say I'm speculating.
    - You tell me there's no question that Misi is a bad LB, and when I offer a differing opinion, you tell me I saying there are no differing opinions.
    - And now, after accusing me of things like speculating and acting as if there are no differing opinions (neither of which I did), you are now saying I'm accusing you of things you didn't say.....

Like I said, I must have entered crazyland.

I'm pissed we missed on Eric Kendricks. Get him in the 2nd was my dream scenario. On the other side I get the feeling nobody will run at us next season. With the Jets game from last season in mind I start to like this pick!

I don't even like Misi but he ain't that bad...especially against the run. Very happy we took Phillips, I said before the draft that I'd rather bolster the interior of the DL rather than bank on a linebacker from this underwhelming class.

The bottom line is this was a project pick with the mentality of the coaches hoping Suh can mentor him. It was a wasted pick because there were better than average people available in positions we have huge holes.

My biggest concern is the coaching staff hoping Suh can make a difference and not thinking they can.

The issue with Misi isn't talent. He's got enough to be effective, despite playing out of position. The issue is constant injuries and health. He hasn't played 16 games since his rookie year. He's good for 10-12 games a year and that's it. Miami will have two middle linebackers this year. Misi and whomever replaces him when he's hurt. Perryman would of been a nice pickup in round 2. Tons of instincts and intangibles, and a massive thumper in the middle.

Any MLB we draft is likely to be a backup this year. Phillips OTOH, will get regular playing time as we rotate our DTs. A 2nd is a lot for a back up.

Based on Coyle hating rookies, or something else? Because Misi could of gone outside while the rookie took over in the middle. And our LB corps suddenly don't look so crappy. I think Perryman could of easily have taken the starting job. Further more, I'm not interesting in one season. Championships aren't won with rookies. DT's aren't to find. Especially nose tackles. I'm not trying to **** on JP, I think he's a talented player. But I'm taking Zach Thomas > Suh any day of the week and wouldn't ever look back.

I think our starters are McCain, Misi, Jenkins and I don't think that's crappy at all, quite the opposite.....especially with the DT's in front of them keeping them clean.

If specifically Zach Thomas was the choice, I'd be right there with you. But really, when you have a DT of Suh's caliber then DT becomes the most important spot on the D.

Lol at people hating on Misi. He is a valuable piece of our defense. He is versatile and above average in every aspect. He might not be a huge star but a very solid player. His injury issues aren't the end of the world. Tell me, how many games has he missed all together since coming to the NFL? Either way, there was nobody worth picking in this weak LB draft when we had the chance. Especially nobody that was going to start this year or even next. I'm sure they would like to see how these young guys are going to play behind the likes of Suh. If they aren't developing and showing promise then next year will be a good year to address those positions.
