It can have different decals, but it has to be the same helmet, which is fine because the white with grey face mask is the same.
Just for 1 game against the Giants at night on Dec 14. Why bother? They're not in our division. Still, maybe they'll bring us luck although we were 3-11 in 1966. Was hoping for a modern take on the orange jerseys for the jets game in London and the pats game in Oct, or both night games. Major let down here.
I wish, if anything, a modern version of the 66 uniform. Use current colors and youll be fine. I hope we go with Aqua and not white.
What a joke to hype this for months and then go with THE most boring option possible. And to me, a throwback is not an alternate. It's a different catagory. So lame. As to the question of the helmet, because the helmets have always been white, they can switch the decals and facemask that week if they are willing. Make them look just like 1966 and its legal. Maybe it's just for this year though, with the 50th season and all, and we'll get real throwbacks (ideally blue) next year with the "new" stadium.
I don't know how that wasn't understandable. I wanted our 3rd alternate jersey to be a brand new jersey, preferably using Orange as the primary color. As that was not the jersey that was revealed, I expressed disappointment.
Throwbacks ARE great...but cheesing a "new" alternate uniform out of throwbacks is lame. I'm very disappointed personally.
I'm glad its throwbacks. Would've preferred 1970s or early 90s, but i'll like seeing the big stripes and old logo. Since its a night game i'd assume they'll choose Aqua over the White. Hope they paint the old logo on the field too, with that old script.
It hasn't been unveiled yet. May 13th is when we get the full uniform reveal. Personally, I like throwbacks, and I look forward to seeing them, but I understand those of you who are disappointed. White with aqua pants is the only real alternate we have, and it's just a composite of the normal uniforms.
Yeah I get it now but I don't get it. I thought this was supposed to be an unveiling of an alternate. If they are wearing throwbacks that night I would rather be surprised than be letdown by an announcement. I really don't mind the throwbacks either but thought we were getting a new uni of some sort or at least I was hoping that way.
I wanted a throwback uniform. I'm surprised so many of you are against it. I also don't understand why we can't make a different helmet to go with the throwback. Makes zero sense to me.
Due to new concussion rules, players must wear the same helmet all season, unless it is somehow broken and unwearable. However, the team could strip all of the helmets of their current logos, stripes and facemasks and replace them with old school ones for that one game if they so choose. As for my personal disapointment, its half the fact that the team teased - for months - an alternate jersey when they could have simply said "throwback" the entire time and not messed with us. And half the fact that I don't really care for the oldest uniforms. *shrug* They weren't the uniforms the team wore when I was a kid or became a diehard fan. For me, they've always been ancient history, and hold no special meaning to me.
I agree with unlucky about the wording, they should have clarified they were throwbacks. So I guess it's a full throwback uniform jersey pants and logo,
Because I like the combination of orange, aqua, and white, and having it presented in a new and different way would be enjoyable for me to see.
I don't like or want an orange one, but I did very much want a darker aqua one, or in the blue color that's part of our palate now.
I just find the old jerseys to be uninspiring. They're not cool, or different, like some of the other teams jerseys.
I think the throwback was to appease the folks who didn't want to change...Im happy, got the full on change I wanted when we redid everything, colors and logo, and now we get to reminice a bit.
Not May 13, July is when the Uniform is revealed. Honestly, I think it will be Current Dolphins helmet, with Old School Jersey. I hope Aqua.
ok well that settles it. Just asked Tom on twitter if thier is another alternate jersey coming other then tje throwback, and he answered "just the throwback"
yeah, NFL only allows 1 alternative uniform, which can be worn i think twice a season or less, no more
Our colors are Aqua, White, and Orange. We have both white and aqua jerseys already. An orange one only makes sense.
It'll be 1966 throwbacks. Of course, it's gonna look ridiculous only because of the league's dumbass rule about the helmets.
Believe the helmet itself must remain the same always, but the decal sticker on the side can change. My guess is that is what you will see against the giants.
Ah ok. That makes sense. Do we know if they are allowed to do the grey facemasks that go with the uniform?
