Can we create a separate "Why I hate Lebron and Cleveland" thread?

This is actually a really compelling Finals matchup, I'm looking forward to it as a fan of the game.

Johnson the only one I'd be good with at 10. If we're trading down and picking up another asset, fine.

But if we stay at 10, Johnson, Booker and Oubre look like the best bets, unless somebody unexpected falls, like Hezonja.

If I had to guess, right now Booker would be the pick

Compelling? Cavs are the largest underdog since the 07' Cavs.

It'll be only the 2nd time in NBA history that rookie HCs face each other in the finals. I am not sure if a rookie HC outside of that matchup has ever won the title, but obviously this will be at least the 2nd time a rookie HC wins as well.

Normally, I wouldn't bother with a Chris Sheridan rumor, but since I have to give him at least some credit for his LeBron report last summer, he tweeted that a coach is being fired in the next few days who is completely off the radar and would be shocking.

    Any thoughts?

I dont give Sheridan any credit for that. He guessed right. He and a bunch of reporters said Cleveland days before the announcement, had nothing to do with actual sources. Just pure guessing to try to land himself a job again.

Would that really be shocking though?

Carlisle was the first guy that came to my mind.

Hasn't been out of the 1st round since winning the title in 2011 and completely failed to make anything work with Rondo and really let that situation destroy the whole team.

It would still be shocking though. I don't think he's ever missed the playoffs as a head coach and he did win a title pretty recently.

Spo would also be shocking but I really see no way to justify that unless he was facing a player mutiny, which he's not. That was the only reason Riley sent SVG to "spend time with his family"

Firing Kevin McHale would be shocking considering he got his team to the WCF. But it wouldn't be shocking in the sense that he's a bad, unimaginative coach who should have been gone 2 years ago.

Speaking of coaches, why is Scott Skiles so hot all of a sudden?

He's a good defensive coach but has flamed out of every job he's ever held in 3 years or less, while never achieving that much success.

I guess Orlando just really wants to be the 8th seed at this point.

Any more info on who they may be interested in? I know they brought in some 2nd rounder types for workouts, and we've heard they've talked to Oubre and Booker. Any idea on targets?

If Hezonja, Winslow, or Porzingis fall to 10, those should be no brainers. Run the pick up.

I also like Oubre and Booker. I disagree about dismissing Dekker and Kaminsky, though. Both of them could end up being very good players at positions the Heat can use. I wouldn't be upset at all if either of them were the pick.

Wouldnt shock me if the Rockets are thinking Of letting him go though... The Rockets dont have an issue with either side of the ball, the biggest concern with the Rockets is an organizational issue. That team can play either side of the ball at a Top 5 level, but sometimes they look like they dont know what theyre suppose to do.

Not sure who is the guy that will set them straight. JVG back to Houston? I dont know.

If I had to guess it would be Terry Stotts in Portland or Randy Whittman in Washington. Darkhorse: Rick Carlisle

I don't know that either Stotts or Whittman would be shocking. Both are pretty milquetoast coaches who nobody thinks are great.

Carlisle is definitely a guy who would qualify as a shock.

Reinsdorf fired him with a parting shot "a need for a free and open discussion, communication between FO and coaches without a worry about encroaching on someone elses area. this has been lacking and decided to make a change because of it."

Reinsdorf never fires someone without kicking the man while he's down. Always has to add something to humiliate the guy, kind of like to make other teams aware that the coach he fired is problematic. The Bulls' franchise is a mess.

I know this was said tongue-in-cheek, but I'd be rooting for the Warriors regardless of who they were playing (save for the Heat). I really like a lot of their players and they are just so much fun to watch.

The splash brothers are awesome. Watching Steph curry create is such a treat. I'm a heat fan through and through, but I live 5 minutes from the Oracle so the warriors are my adopted team. This team is not only amazing on the court but also in the community.

Uhm, where the **** did this come from?

    http://miamiherald.typepad.com/spor...ns-wade-open-to-leaving-heat-if-it-doesn.html

All right. Now that my jaw is off the floor, I think this is just Wade's camp floating a balloon to get people prepared for the fact that he is not going to take any kind of massive discount the next few years. But seriously, what does he think he could realistically get on the open market?

Could Wade right now fetch more than $10 million per year? I'm not so certain of that. Now, a team desperate for a star, or who wants to push into the playoffs, like a Milwaukee, maybe pushes the envelope, but would he really go there?

I love Wade. My favorite player of all time in any sport (yes, he moved past Marino, stone me if you must), but that Kobe contract is killing the Lakers. I'm willing to pay him more than he could get on the open market, but not the max.

And why would Dragic leave if Wade leaves? He'd definitely get the max then and we'd have a ton of cap room to chase another star.

    Shut your filthy mouth, lol.

Seriously, the only time I have ever come close to crying over a sports moment was the two times Chicago tried to sign Wade and it looked like he might actually leave.

If he left, particularly for Cleveland, it would absolutely devastate me

There's just no where for Wade to go that is going to pay him big $$$, right? Just makes zero sense.

But if this is his way of saying he's not taking a discount - and if the Heat need to re-sign Whiteside and Dragic - that more or less kills the dream of adding Durant or whoever was the fantasy before.

And that's a good squad - but still paper thin.

EDIT - Does Dallas have cap space?

This whole thing makes no sense.

why would Wade take a discount now, when it didn't do us much good, only to demand huge money just at the time we might be able to land another star?

I hope this is just posturing on Wade's camp's part.
