recent article on Marvel trying to work out a deal with Sony to get Spider Man into the Civil war movie. doesn't sound like Marvel has made progress, but hopefully they keep pushing the agenda.

I think it will happen eventually, especially if TAS3 and/or Sinister Six underperforms at the box office.

I'd love for that to happen. First two movie asides, I think the Spider-Man series is on X-Men Movies level of suckitude, IMO.

The latest rumor is if this deal goes down they are going to start over. No previous baggage. The Spider-Man is going to be about the struggle with being a teenager and a super hero and not a love story.

I don't mind the love story. Let's be honest, romance has been an arguably essential part of the Spider-Man mythos for a very long time.

I just hated a lot of the plot points in the movies past the two could have been easily avoided/solved by letting go of the idiot ball.

I didn't like the first Spiderman movie. Half paid attention to the second one when it was on TV. Didn't see the third at all.

I really loved the X Men movies...

Thats a really cool and insightful article. Honestly, though I've long been a Marvel fan, I know nothing whatsoever about the Inhumans. Still, its cool that the plan is for Skye to be a big part of it. I really like the character and the actress that plays her. Very interested to see how all of this plays into the future of the movies too.

The problem what the X-Men movies if that (for the most part) they aren't X-Men movies. They're Wolverine movies with the rest of the X-Men playing supporting characters. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Wolverine, but it's gotten to the point where it seems like FOX is shoving Wolverine down viewers' throats.

first few Xmen movies were lousy IMO. the last one was pretty decent. As far as Wolverine-centric, you're right, but that seems appropriate. Growing up reading the X-men, it always seemed like he was the center of attention anyway, definitely the most interesting characters.

as far as the new spiderman movies. that last one was so incredibly bad. I saw it for free on a long flight back from London and couldn't believe how bad it was. It was on scale with the Richard Pryor - Superman III movie and only slightly better than Daredevil.

Except that wasn't the case. There have been plenty of storylines that didn't have Wolverine as the center.

All I'm saying is, if I'm going to be paying for an X-Men movies, I don't want to walk away with the impression that I saw a team of mutants that can't even go grocery shopping without Wolverine leading the way.

So Fox is depicting Wolverine in a manner faithful to the comics.

Wolverine is over saturated at this point, but he's still a cool character. The X-men movies have been the best comic book film series since they debuted. Obviously X-3 sucked (Thanks to Fox not waiting for Singer and giving the franchise to Ratner), but 4/5 strong movies aint bad... Can't wait for the X-men: AoA.

And it still pisses me off that Fox didn't give Singer the budget to do X2 the way he wanted. The entire film was suppose to be centered around sentinels w/zombie Xaiver providing them GPS to hunt and kill mutants. The finale was suppose to be all the X-men + Magneto squaring off against against them, with Magneto having an epic scene wrecking havoc. What could of been...

my biggest gripe with the Xmen movies was the boring Phoenix story. They could have done more with that.

X2 was still pretty freaking awesome though, probably my favorite X-Men movie and one of the better comic movies which still holds up to this day.

I do agree though it would be nice if we got more character development from the other X-Men members instead of simply focusing on Wolvervine, Professor X and Magneto. I mean the way they handled Cyclops was terrible when he's suppose to be the leader of the group.

But yeah 4 out of the 5 X-Men movies are pretty good and even X-Men 3 with all its faults is still somewhat watchable. The only thing that bugs me about the series is the plot holes/inconsistencies between the original 3 films and the 2 newer ones.

I've seen it speculated that he'll be a Shield agent with strong ties to Wakanda, and will have a large role in the Black Panther. Maybe something similar to Phil Coulson, where he has a smaller role in a number of Marvel films into the future.

I think that it's awesome that Andy Serkis will have a large role in The Black Panther. I didn't even realize that was him in Avengers 2 until I went on IMDB afterwards

Ditto. He looked a lot bigger in Avengers 2. I knew I recognized him, but couldn't place him, which is very rare for me, I never forget a face or voice.

you might want to read the infinity gauntlet saga and the civil war saga since that is where the movies are headed towards.

Yeah, I've read some of civil war.

Maybe I'll pick up the Infinity Gauntlet trade paperback.

Some of the Secret Wars companion series actually look really interesting but I just have no time for them. Maybe when the colelctions come out

Civil War is when I stopped reading comics. Read the rumors of Brand New Day and also was getting burned out on big events after House of M.

I am interested in how they are going to do Civil War. It is much different in Cinematic universe than 616 universe. Other than Daredevil, who has a secret identity?

I imagine it's going to be less about secret identities and more of whether the Avengers should come under the purview of the government.

In the movies, SHIELD operated as mostly it's own entities and both Iron Man and Black Widow separately spit in the face of the elected officials regarding what they could be told to do and not do.

I guess Stark, given his guilt over Ultron will take his role on the side of the government, but in the MCU why would Cap have a problem with this? Sure, Shield was compromised, but there's no indication the normal channels of government are under Hydra control. and Cap is a soldier, used to following orders.

Not too excited about it, but I'll eventually watch it on blue ray this fall. If I weren't worried about missing something in the MCU, I might just skip it, like I have all Hulk movies to this point.

Happy for Rudd, the previews have shown all kinds of comedy.....which is fine....but I think integral plot points are all hidden at this point, which will make for an awesome movie watching experience imo.
