How odd? http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/312442/Patriots-let-pass-catching-TE-Tim-Wright-go Upgrade over Sims?
There has to be a backstory to this, why flatout cut a player who has been productive and gives you depth a month before training camp?
Don't question... it's the Patriots... they can do what they want, cut good players, and they'll be better for it.
Well hopefully we bite. I think he might be able to slide into Clay's role. Maybe provide another nice intermediate target in the middle of the field.
Didn't the Patriots sign some other project player who could play tight end during the offseason? I remember seeing or hearing a headline, just can't remember who it was for the life of me. Edit: I think this is what I saw: He was a decent tight end for the Bills so he'll probably be great for the Patsies. Watch him catch an extra 5 or 6 TDs even with a healthy Gronkowski. Additional edit: Chandler is apparently making a strong impression early on which is probably why Wright was released.
