Riley's legacy will always be with Lakers and the Heat a close 2nd...Shaq, Laker no question...Hardaway is about on par with Mark Price and everyone knows LeBron is Cleveland's son. Bringing up Miguel is pretty funny aswell. You have Wade...and Alonzo Mourning.
Pat Riley has been with the Heat...TWICE as Long as he was with the Lakers..... I bring up Miguel to accentuate how ridiculous Cleveland Indian history is.
Wait, what? Manny Ramirez, Bob Feller, Larry Doby, Boudreau - the Indians have insane history. And you're claiming Miggy even tho a majority of his career was in Detroit?
Heat are very mum on the draft, but follow the scouts...and visits.... It's obvious that they love Oubre and Booker, Cauley-Stein is a lock at #10 if he drops. Trade down targets should be Justin Anderson (SF from Virginia) and RJ Hunter
I don't know what your case was - but if your case was saying Manny Ramirez, Bob Feller, Larry Doby, and Lou Boudreau weren't very good - I'm feeling pretty good about it.
If we go Oubre at 10, I'd love to see if we can get back in to the late 1st for RJ Hunter. Purest shooter in this draft.
Oh man... I can't even watch it at work but I can hear it in my head. "James.. puts up the three.. won't go! Rebound Bosh... Back out to Allen! His three pointer!-BAAAAANNNGGGGG!!!!!!!! TIE GAME WITH 5 SECONDS REMAINING!" Goosebumps bro.
If Gabrielle Union is concerned about Wade getting paid, Cleveland is the last place he should go. But certainly enjoy your Instagram detective work. I'm sure there will be plenty more over the next 2 weeks
Probably thinking either stay in Miami so he can get paid or go somewhere where he has an actual shot to win a ring.
If the ring means that much to him, he can stay here, make more money than with the Cavs even after we maintain our flexibility, and maybe win a ring. If he stays and our starting lineup is as good as we think it's going to be next season, we will be doing plenty of winning, and he'll be making a ton of dough. I don't understand the problem.
So, let me get this straight....Wade is going to opt out of $16 million guaranteed, turn down whatever longer term deal the Heat offer (it will be north of $10 million per year), and go to Cleveland for the mini mid-level and lose his Bird Rights? Doesn't make any sense.
The facts are the facts. I DARE Wade to go to Cleveland for $3.3mil. In fact..I will drive him to the airport.
Beyond the money, whatever issues Wade might be having with Riley/Arison, it is absolute fact that he cares about his legacy down here and knows what he means to this community. That's why his side went public with the negotiations and subtle threats. It caused the exact reaction they knew it would and the public is overwhelmingly on his side. Now, it's possible he leaves, but he has to know that if he goes to Cleveland for LESS money, it will destroy 13 years of good will, love and respect. It would be the ultimate betrayal. Knicks willing to pay you $20 million per year, I get it. Cleveland giving you the mini MLE, I don't get and I don't forgive.
I don't know how much I like that. Cauley-Stein is going to be a heck of a defender in this league, and he might have an underrated jumper. But this team is in great shape with their power rotation and needs shooting. Oubre and Booker would both fill that need and represent two players with arguably the most upside at that portion of the draft. I would really hope they don't trade down because you're not going to get very much to move back a handful of picks, and they should not squander the chance they have. This draft is deep in the sense that you can get a really good prospect throughout the lottery, but once you get into the 20's there is a significant dropoff. I could live with RJ Hunter if that's what they do because the guy is a lights out shooter, but his D is the question. I wouldn't really be interested in Anderson. I would, however, be interested in Rashad Vaughn, who they brought in for a workout and supposedly impressed them. My strong preference would be to stay at 10, though, or even try and see if you can move up for Hezonja or Winslow if either get to 8. Have you heard about them exploring moving up at all? It's interesting that you didn't mention Stanley Johnson. While he isn't an elite shooter, his jump shot is improving and he's going to be a great defender. I know you said he's full of ****, but Chad Ford keeps saying he's hearing the Heat are locked on to Johnson, Dekker, and Kaminsky.
Do you guys have Wade's email? I really like my realtor and think he could Wade find a nice place up here.
http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/3896/lebrons-handling-of-blatt-unbecoming Nothing we didn't know. Blatt should resign on principle.
That's LeBron. He tried to pull that down here too, except the Heat didn't put up with it, and then lo and behold, he found that he actually liked Spo.
There's a nice place on Finals Way as long as he's willing to leave his house on Lottery Circle down in Miami.
Phin's been holding on to these "put downs" for 4 years, just bidding his time....now he can finally strike with gusto!!!!! lol Love ya bro
Nah I think he stays or if he wants to leave we trade him so he can keep his Bird Rights. I mean, you said that playing him would've hurt our defense so much we would've lost even worse in the Finals - so good riddance, amirite?
I've been nice all year but after about the 13th "Cleveland is a poop hole" joke I decided no more mr nice guy.
Actually if that were his agenda he could've fired those bullets when the playoffs started.....and yall was hangin at home with us Knicks fans.
Nope. No reason for Lakers or whoever to agree to a S&T. Nor should Love care When the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors lost LeBron James and Chris Bosh to Miami in 2010, they were able to get something back (draft picks and trade exceptions) by working out sign-and-trade deals with the Heat. The sign-and-trade deals made sense for the Heat and the players, because under the old CBA, contracts signed with a player's current team could be six years long, with 10.5 percent raises. If James and Bosh had signed outright with the Heat, the contracts could only be five years long with eight percent raises. Under the new CBA, new contracts with the player's current team can be five years long with 7.5 percent raises, while contracts with a new team can only be four years long with 4.5 percent raises. Another major change is that sign-and-trade deals are limited to the same maximums as deals with a new team (four years, 4.5 percent raises). Max years and raises on new contracts Structure of contracts Type of contract Old CBA New CBA Contract w/ same team 6 years, 10.5% raises 5 years, 7.5% raises Contract w/ new team 5 years, 8% raises 4 years, 4.5% raises Sign-and-trade contract 6 years, 10.5% raises 4 years, 4.5% raises
It does not. Cleveland will still be over the cap. They could theoretically, by letting smith/Shumpert go, access the full mid level rather than the mini mid level, but even that's only $5 million
