Nothing insulting about that offer, first of all Dragic has made it clear two days ago he has not talked to us about abot money yet, so that report by Stein is not even a report, it is Stein tryig to generate clicks. And second that offer is almost in the same ballpark as Kyrie Irving, a little higher than Eric Bledsoe. You all made yourselves believe that Dragic only wants 20 million per season and wont take less than 20, that never came out of him. He said two days ago he does not want to leave South Beach and he loves it here.
The story is that they are planning to offer something higher than that, not that they have offered exactly 5y/$80m. Vertical Limit's take is pretty good.
Just think he made it clear when demanding trade that winning wasn't a big deal (including LA and NY) so I wouldn't expect a huge discount. And Kyrie and Bledsoe's deals were all they could receive as max deals. Dragic could earn up to $116mil w Heat, I believe. But being 29 that guaranteed 5th yr is probably a big deal to him so Heat have some leverage there.
He didnt make anything clear, you all based it off heresay. Find me a quote where Dragic said I want 20 million per season. Even he said it to a slovenian reporter when asked about Dwyane Wade, that nothing the media has taken out about money has been correct including Wade's contract situation the past two weeks as players are not permited to speak contract numbers until July.
Supposedly Dwyane Wade's dad wearing a Cavs shirt. https://twitter.com/sbnation/status/612696071202930688 This is so fun.
Troll is strong. But I tell you what, if all this public leveraging will get any amount more than what they offered to him to begin with, its definitely worth.
Or people will get pissed off with this foolishness and tell him to go f himself. I'm one more troll tweet/Instagram from that point
Hey all I know is I love Dwyane Wade. He is the reason I started watching the NBA. But I agree with section. If you really want the MLE to play for the Cavs over what the Heat are paying? If you really want to go that bad? I will drive you to the airport. In the long run (like 2016), the Heat would be better off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I remember during the Finals Wade had his family on snapchat and his dad yelled "Go Cavs!". If you all can get him for mini MLE or MLE (love and shumpert gone though) then cool. But that article sbnation put of heat fans being scared, um we arent, he can go or stay. Either way is welcomed. If this was summer of 2010 we would be scared. But losing a guy that is turning 34 in january isnt something we will lose sleep over.
Exactly. If he were 26? 29? Yikes. He isn't. I want him to be here, but he can't sit there and claim the heat aren't being fair if he ends up taking a deal that is 13 million less than what is being offered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't think there's any chance Wade leaves, especially for CLE, and this social media crap is a desperate play for leverage. Still fun, tho.
Because he's doing it to get an emotional reaction out of people. That's why he's talking about the Cavs and not the Bucks. That's what would hurt most. Look, I want him to stay and I want the Heat to make him a fair offer. I'd even be ok overpaying. But at some point either he wants to be here or he doesn't. And if you don't, then fine. But don't play games.
By the way, wade had a 20+ million option he could have opted in for and he opted out thinking Lebron may stay and ended up signing for less. He can go ask Lebron for the 5-7 million Lebron costed him by playing his little games with Riley and Elisburg.
What? The man has sacrificed money again and again and again for this franchise. He recruited to Bron and Bosh to come to Miami, he took a backseat to LeBron in order for the team to take a next step, everything he had to give up in his own house just to win, oh and he brought 3 titles to this franchise, and he is also the most important player in this team's history. So if you are willing to throw all that out the window over a couple of comments, and instragram posts you need to get over yourself dude.
Yeah. I've cheered for the guy for 12 years. Not much else I can do for him. I want him to stay, but if he doesn't want to be here for whatever reason then don't be here. What's the use of playing games? The only guy throwing anything away here will be Wade if he goes to Cleveland for 3 million.
This is the last big contract Wade will ever get....this IS a buisness here. He has rings so even if he is using Cle, NY, LA to get a money grab so be it. This is his chance to set his grand kids kids up for life. What would you do?
You keep saying that, why in the world would he NOT want to be here? Cmon man. Of crouse he wants to be here, he also wants to get paid, man. This is a business, this is the last time the man will get PAID in capital letters. He is loved in Miami, he KNOWS that, he KNOWS that average HEAT fan will always side with him, so he is playing these games to get fans vocal at Micky. Look at twitter, look at reaction of every tweet Micky posts, half of them are people telling him to pay Wade. He is using whatever leverage he can to get himself paid, and so be it. So if you cant take that for few weeks after that man did whatever he could for years and years for this franchise thats on you, not him. I don't think he is going anywhere, but if he will, I won't be mad at him, EVEN if he goes to Cleveland, even though it obviously won't be about money if he does that, and sure there will be some bitter fans (Think JT going to the Jests? Not the same, I know, can't think of other similar examples) but my point is that those fans got over themselves, just like even if he will go to Cleveland, most of these fans will as well, because if you are reasonable, level headed adult you will most likely appreciate his time on this team more than you will dislike his potential departure. Again, Wade is my favorite athlete of all time (well, right up there with Zach ) but if he leaves, so be it. I am HEAT fan, I will say thanks for your time and move on, but I will not be mad at him for trolling everybody for few weeks because he wants to get paid.
Because he is using his popularity among fans as leverage? HEAT fans are so selfish right now. They are so freaking paranoid because Bron left, which was unimaginable at a time, and now because Wade isn't flat out immediately saying that he is staying, are turning on him, because they want to feel "safe" This isn't your money you are talking about, so yeah, I'm sure you are "disappointed" This isn't about you, or me, or other fans. This is about whats best for Wade and the team.
Wade's estimated to have already made over $200 million dollars in his career. Set up his grandkids? They're already set. His great-great-great grandkids are already set.
Easy to say when it's not your money man. The man deserves a benefit of doubt from this fan base at least until he actually, you know, leaves.
He had the support and benefit of the doubt when the initial reports came out. Had he done nothing else, that would have remained the case. Instead he decided to start leaking stuff about Cleveland. He's playing it wrong
Why? Because for few weeks, it might make you uncomfortable? Get over yourself man, it's not about how you might feel, or how I might feel. To him it's about him and the organization paying him. If he re-signs and spends rest of his time in Miami before retiring, are you even going to remember that he was a free agent? During his jersey retirement are you going to say damn man, I love the man but I can not believe he made it sound like he was going to Cleveland for 2 weeks 8 years ago. No, of course you won't. He is playing it however he sees fit to get himself paid. Nobody was freaking out like this in 2010 when he opted out, people were confident that he would come back, just like now, I am confident that he will come back. If you want to be mad if he leaves, then go ahead, but at very least wait for him to leave before you bad mouth him.
Dude, I'm not bad mouthing him. I'm commenting on how he is publicly using his leverage. None of what he is doing is a secret. If you think it's a coincidence that all this stuff about the Cavs, his dad's shirt, following them on Instagram , the Stephen A. Smith report, you're kidding yourself. He's doing it because he thinks it will work to get him what he wants. I disagree. That's not bad mouthing.
Where did I say that? What i am saying is that it's easy to say "he's made plenty over his career" when you are not talking about yourself. Again, wasn't calling you out. Fans that are mad at him for using social media as leverage, hence "this fan base"
You're not, sorry about that. I was more ranting because of fans on twitter and partially you, but you aren't not bad mouthing. While I applaud him for that. Ten years ago this wouldn't be possible. Huh? where did I say that? Of course all this is being leaked on purpose, lol. That's how leverage works. Time will tell.
It's easy to say it when it's factually true. And I'm not commenting on how much Wade should get from the Heat right now. I'm responding to the silly notion that THIS contract is the one that's going to set up his descendants' financial security. Then why are you saying it in a reply to me?
Okay, we can play this game. Yes, he has earned a lot of money over the course of his career. However using that as leverage point towards the HEAT is absurd. "Well Dwyane, we love ya and hope you can come back, but looking back at it, you've made your share of money, you're good" This makes sense to do as an outsider, sure, but it's not a valid point when it comes to contract negotiations on a professional level. I might of missed this? I know I didn't say that, and yes, THAT statement is ridiculous. He is financially secure, no doubt. I wasn't. That was a statement on it's own, hence the new paragraph. Don't like double posting.
Cool. They still wont be a playoff team. I doubt Mitch invests 40+ million in two injury prone guards, he hasnt been a top executive all these years by having his head inside the sand. From a business standpoint though, selling Dwyane Wade Lakers jerseys makes sense for them. Could be a top selling jersey next season. Also Li Ning and the asian market in California is a good mix.
I don't like what Wade is doing in social media. It's unbecoming and the fanbase does not deserve it, specially after the LeBron sucker punch. You want more money? Fine, let it be known and either the Heat acquiesce or they don't. But to pull these mind games at the expense of the fan base is ****ty.
$200M - 50% taxes - 10% to his agent - 5% to lawyers/accountants - whatever he lost during his divorce. The idea that a few million dollars isn't a big deal to Wade is silly IMO. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Are you in cahoots with his financial advisor?? Is that before or after taxes? You know what you're right, he should just play for the min and go to Cleveland and get another ring since money shouldn't matter.
