Id say let him go, hes not going to be anything here. We have a deep enough RB pool and we need his roster spot for something else im sure. Problem is I suspect he will go to an AFE east team and thrive for 2-3 years against us..

Word is that he was supposed to be a Darren Sproles type here in Miami. There is too many backs on the roster. I think he would have to be sensational to unseat the players ahead of him. Tough task. Good post my man!!

Id rather have Williams in #3 role behind Miller/Ajay.

Let him walk unless he brings something on special teams.

I'd like to get Landry off special teams returns. If James can show really high level return ability, I'd be for keeping him. Since I doubt that he does, then I think he's a goner.
I'm wondering if a good WR returner gets cut this offseason, we can bring him in and cut R Mathews for the final WR spot.

The problem is, in the limited time James was in San Francisco, he looked slow at the NFL level.

I don't understand the fan fascination with James.
The guy has shown absolutely nothing at all. Cut him loose.

I don't believe sanfran runs a zone blocking system, we do, thats what he ran in college, he's gonna have to win the returner job outright cause he isn't gonna beat damien williams out of his role, that kid displayed to many flashes for him to lose his role, great hands, really good speed, and the right makeup and demeanor on the field for a rookie..

James has to learn to stop hesitating..thats what I saw in sanfran..we keep hearing how good he looks so he's got a nice battle with williams this preseason.

Actually Philbin praised him for his effort and versatility during OTAs citing his ability as a returner and a change of pace back.It remains to be seen if its words or if he is a threat to remain on the roster.IMO its going to between him and Gilleslie to win a roster spot.

If I remember back correctly(which is a toss-up..Lol), Gillislee was a tough running back, decent size and decent speed that can run between the tackles and tough yards as well as get outside..it should be a good battle.

I think he will walk. There is too many backs ahead of him. It will be hard to beat them out.

You make a good point but I just think it's too late for him to make any real contribution to the team.

I'm with Crunch. I think he makes it above Gillislee but I also think he may get cut to make room for a back they feel better about. Personally, I wish they kept Darkwa last year but I understand the whole he adds a speed dimension to the offense. He has been talked up so we will see how he does when the pads come on. I'd like to see another veteran back brought in after week 1 if the value presents itself. Good use that experienced prescence in that position group.

Three no-impact seasons at a position where guys usually show what they have early on. Meh.

Can we just see what he does at camp? It's not like he's signed on a bloated contract.

I'd maybe consider dropping Gillislee first. Talk about a guy who's shown nothing.

well he is toast anyways, i don´t think we can afford to keep 4 RB`s on this team, to much talent overall to have that kind of luxury, LaMichael James vs. Damien Williams will settle the 3rd RB job, all the others are gone

Well if that is the case, I hope we keep Damien Williams.
