LOL. Although I was already voting for Wake now I really feel like I can't sway I don't want Tannehill to turn into the QB equivalent of Ted Ginn jr.
Btw I think calling Suh better at his position than Wake at DE is splitting hairs to be honest. He is certainly more high profile. I would call it a push.. Wake gets home field advantage for putting in the work here already. Wake has delivered 248 tackles 63 sacks 12 Forced Fumbles in 6 years for the Dolphins. That's significantly better numbers than Suh put up for the Lions almost across the board in his career. But yeah Suh definitely has the Hype and Media coverage that Wake rarely sees.
We will not make the playoffs until Ryan Tannehill takes us there. Cameron Wake has already hit his nadir. Who among us thinks the old man will improve? Is this a game of past or present? If you want to wait until next year, go crazy., but who would you rather sustain a season-ending injury. It seems simple. And honestly, this team won't do shtt until we support our quarterback.
Personally I see this as a reflection on the past year, both on the field and off the field. Don't see how anyone can vote based on the future since the future hasn't happened yet - by what criteria do you vote? Hopes? Expectations? Guesses? There's no way to know what will happen. But last season is real, done, in the books. So that's what I vote on in addition to the general past as well.
It's 2015 survivor, not 2014 MVP. I get over the past pretty quickly....if I dwelled in previous triumphs and failures, that would drive me nuts. Upward and onward Dolphins fans, there's a bright spot showing for our team's future...and it's a humble good old boy from Big Spring, Texas.
Still doesn't answer the question on how someone is supposed to vote based on the future. And isn't that what the Hall of Fame does - dwell on the past? Or any other award or reward?
Those are obviously centered on the past...2015 survivor inherently assumes betting on the coming season...and I've seen enough of RT this off-season to know that if we can get there, it will be largely because of his play. I'm all in.
I don't see any inherent assumptions. It's just a title. The rules specify that anyone can vote for any player for any reason at all. So voting on the future is possible, I just don't see how it's practical. Unless, as you've said, it's some sort of betting. I don't see it that way though. I prefer to vote based on recognition of reality and achievement.
