found this article and thought it to be cool. It is adjusted weekly on a number of factors. I am not sure how accurate it is. I did not create or write this article so please do not shoot the messenger The playoff odds report plays out the season 25,000 times. A random draw assigns each team a win or loss for each game. The probability that a team will be given a win is based on an equation which considers the current DAVE ratings of the two teams as well as home-field advantage. (DVOA ratings are explained here.) Mean Wins is the average number of wins for this team over the 25,000 simulations. Odds are given for winning each playoff seed, as well as for winning the division (DIV), earning a bye week (BYE), or winning a wild card (WC). TOT represents odds of making the playoffs in any fashion. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds AFC East Team W-L DAVE Mean Wins #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 DIV BYE WC TOT CHANGE NE 2-0 23.1% 11.6 35.5% 16.2% 6.6% 1.9% 18.3% 8.3% 60.3% 51.7% 26.6% 86.9% 12.3% NYJ 2-0 11.0% 10.4 15.8% 9.8% 4.1% 1.0% 25.8% 13.6% 30.7% 25.6% 39.3% 70.0% 19.8% BUF 1-1 -2.8% 7.5 1.3% 1.5% 0.9% 0.3% 7.3% 8.6% 4.0% 2.8% 16.0% 20.0% -17.1% MIA 1-1 -1.6% 7.5 1.3% 1.8% 1.3% 0.6% 6.5% 7.7% 4.9% 3.1% 14.2% 19.1% -6.5%
I knew where this thread was going before opening it, and was not dissapointed lol. sportsclubstats.com has us currently sitting at 31.5% to make the playoffs. +8.5% if we beat BUF (40%) -11.4% if we lose to BUF (20%) http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NFL1516.html This BUF game presents a huge swing in our finite chances of making the playoffs. The above +/- values don't take into consideration other teams' scores from week 3, so check back in to the site regularly for updated odds. It really is a great site.
This team isn't making the playoffs. At the beginning of the year, judging on talent alone, I thought they would go 10-6, which might have been good enough to sneak in. They blew a game they should have won, though, and that takes them down to 9-7 and not making it.
Playoffs? I just hope Tannehill survives with no injuries Sunday... Chances are he's in for one of the roughest days of his career.
And they very well still could be. We don't, but let's be realistic here. The Jags weren't even at full strength and we still lost. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T217A using Tapatalk
4th in which category? They're 24th in Pts/game, 28th in yards/game, 11th in passing yards/play, 12th in rushing yards/play. Can't find any meaningful stat where Buffalo is in the top 5 anywhere. EDIT: Thought you might have meant football outsider's rankings, but they're 13th there.
Sure. But after the way they played the first two games, I also see them losing another game or two I had them winning.
Philly and Dallas are most likely still losses. Jacksonville isn't good because of a lack of talent. If they beat NE, I'll change my judgement.
I saw here 4th of 32 http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2015.htm but I think I read it wrong
