Does this performance basically confirm that Philbin was worst coach in the league?

Jesus....if you ever defended that pathetic excuse for a coach, please use this thread to apologize to the entire forum.

It was a blow out win. Enough with the negative vibe. Move on for at least today for everyone's sake.

Yes, in true ThePhins.com Dolphin fan form, let's argue and ***** about things after a blowout win. That's so fitting!

THIS is what I expected to see from this team all year. Played great, yes there is room for improvements but I am going to enjoy today! One game at a time! I want to hear what the "experts" think of Miami now. Everyone wrote us off. Hope we prove them all wrong

Yes. Last two games Joe Philbin did not coach this team.
    38-10 (Tennessee)
    37-0 (San Diego)

    Phailbin era, MEDIOCRE.

He'd make an excellent high school coach though, maybe Sherman can put in the good word.

Stephen Ross extended Philbin, and still paid him among the worst in the league. That said everything.

I agree with those who said that it's time to move on.

But yes, Joe Philbin was in the Caldwell tier of garbage coaches who shouldn't have been employed where they were.

This was gratifying, but ... and just being realistic here ... bounce back wins aren't uncommon after a coaching change. Let's see if they sustain it.

I mean, the results speak for themselves. When the whole team rises up and plays like this with such jubilation because the coach got fired, it says something about how they felt while he was still coaching them. The response was immediate, one of the very first days after Philbin was fired, that extremely amped up practice full of one-on-ones and Oklahoma drills. Onlookers said that was the most jazzed up practice they'd ever seen since covering the Dolphins. That same enthusiasm lasted two whole weeks and translated on Sunday. That really says a lot about the guy that was coaching them before, unfortunately.

Campbell is the first interim coach to win his first game since 2011...so it's not that common

Incidentally if you really dissect that Jarvis Landry touchdown run, there was an offensive linemen way up the field basically walling off half a damn football field, impacting two defenders and preventing them from squeezing the angles on Jarvis. That mystery offensive lineman has generally been in Joe Philbin's doghouse, inactive on Sundays ever since being drafted. Just sayin.

Everyone is happy. It looks like the Miami Dolphins may have found competent coaching, and Joe Philbin can go back to torturing droids...

I like the way Campbell decided to drive down the field to end the second half. They should have came away with points but got intercepted. But we all know damn well Philbin would have ran out the clock with the lead to end the second half not even giving our guys a chance. The only job Joe Philbin maybe capable of in the NFL is checking the PSI levels of footballs.

I think what made today really exciting is that we didnt implement some crazy formation or get lucky with turnovers.

We just made relatively small roster moves, focused on running the ball, and played with passion. It felt good.

I'll get more excited when we win against a good team. This was a win on emotion, I want to see a win on talent. But yes, Philbin sucked on ice.

Exactly. The announcers said it the best...the blame is never completely on the head coach. The Fins needed some sparks to get them going and Dan Campbell built an all-out raging inferno. And you know what? Due to the type of guy Philbin is, I bet he's somewhere right now smiling from ear to ear. So let's let go of the negative and focus on what really matters...winning football games.

Yes, Joe Philbin was the worst coach in the NFL. I don't think he will get enough credit historically for how out of depth and inept he was as a head coach.

I don't think Dan Campbell is our future head coach, or the team will make the playoffs, but the number of simple, fundamental changes this week that made huge dividends are staggering.

Saw a tweet today that said the Dolphins were 7-3 when Brandon Albert plays and finishes a game. Having Cameron Wake healthy was huge for us too *shrug*

Great job, doing what they should've done to a bad team, an improvement over losing to the Jaguars and looking lost against washington.

But...we'll see how the defense does when they face Tom Brady and Co in primetime in New England, and we'll see how the offense fares against the team which owns Miami - the Bills in Buffalo. Those are the two games that decide if this team has any fight.

And I wish they could trade Olivier Vernon for anything at all.

What I saw is Wake and Vernon healthy and back to their normal selves. Albert back to anchoring the OL. Sims and the return of the two TE set. Those four guys were virtually non existent for four weeks.

There was more of a commitment to the run game, most notably from under center, with Mitchell getting several snaps as a lead blocker.

Defensively, there was virtually no blitzing or A gap pressure looks. They relied on the DL to generate pressure and it worked well. Overall very good game, finally we see the team we thought we'd see in Washington.

Did you guys share a box, or two of tissues on his couch today?

    Damn...

I think today, shows an awful lot that is right in line with the thread topic actually.

If you didn't see a coaching staff, and a group of players that were more relaxed, more involved in the game, more prepared, and playing more to their strengths today than we have since the last time Philbin missed coaching a week... I'm really not sure what you're looking at. Aside from Philbin's... well, nevermind.
