I so badly wanted to like your comment.....but that karma bit scared me into passing on it. Can't wish for paralysis.

If one of the Patriots takes the field with a bat though, then I'm all for it. We need to go Last Boyscout on their asses if that's how they want to play!

I believe were gonna win, because I think our coaches we have now actually get it. We arent going to come out with some exotic scheme...so Pats really wont be able to catch us in some bad coverage which they do all the time to people. We may disguise some blitzes..but I dont think we will even do that much. We are just going to ask our players to win their one on one matchups..and dorce the Pats to beat us..not us beat ourselves..which is what happens to alot of teams. They have coaches like Coyle..who let their egos get ahold of the team and put there team in a bad coverage..someone makes a mistake and leaves Gronk uncovered. Really if you look at how well weve played last two weeks...we didnt come up with a new scheme...we just played football really well, and beat the players in front of us.

My main concern is the crossing / middle stuff we routinely leave open...TEs and such. They will KILL us if we can't stop that stuff...and we really haven't yet, not even against the Texans (they dropped some easy ones).

Come on jdang...his WR corps is highly disciplined, very reliable, and YAC monsters. And his #1 RB has been very good when healthy. He's playing VERY well, yes, especially for being 38, but those other guys are helping him a good bit too. And Gronk's impact can NOT be understated...the dude is GOAT. 54 passes at a 6.6 YPA last week? Didn't you say under 7 is garbage?

Ya his OL is weak, but when you're getting the ball out as fast as they are, does it matter?

I voted no because of two things; Pats are 8-0 on Thursday nights and They are home in Foxboro. Two tough things to overcome. That said I took the Fins for the upset in my office football pool and I certainly think we can win this one.

My biggest worry is Gronk running crazy on our Lbs. We still do not do a good job against TE's defensively.

    Voted YES.
Dan has shown little. I think Bill Belichick has the tougher job this short week of GUESSING what Dan's strategy will be. He is reviewing film from our last two games and seeing first hand how tough we are.

He is the nervous one this week. That will transfer to his players and they will lose.

I believe the Dolphins will switch several things around, particularly on defense. I don't think they'll go with the same base 10 looks/calls they've went with the past few weeks. Belicheat has said he noticed they simplified it and upped their execution as a result...I hope he fully expects the same tomorrow night, 'cuz there will NO DOUBT be some wrinkles in there. They HAVE to...they can't allow themselves to show him exactly what he expects...that's the recipe for a blowout loss.

Not saying they are bad. I'm saying they are not spectacular. He doesn't have Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison back there, with Edgerrin James. He has Gronk. Edelman and Amendola are good, but are made better by Tom. Dion Lewis was not even playing football and hadnt had any meaningful carries since 2012. Blount is Blount, and ONLY does well on NE.

A career or season average under 7 is bad yes. If you want to point to a single game than lets talk about the 4.5 and 6.1 we just saw. Naw we shouldn't. Tom Brady is at 8.2 for the year. He's been as low as 6.9 but has had seasons at 8.6. You don't need to worry about IF Brady can throw for a good YPA. He has. He is.

Ryan needs to finish the season out at 7.5'ish for me to believe he can do it. Through College and 3 seasons in the pros he hasn't he's hovered around 7.0 through 5 years. I want him to do it. I want to see it. I'm rooting for him to do it. He's starting all 3 of my teams this week I need an *** kicking. Prove it. No more "projections." Just do it. Do it until the end of the season. Then we'll crown him.

I don't think you give Edelman enough credit, or Amendola for that matter. Manning had those guys, but he needed them. They didn't do what the Cheaters are doing. Brady and Belicheat overshadow anybody else on that team, save Gronk (and Moss when he was there), because the coaches and QBs get the credit...we all know this. RT got offensive player of the week this week, and IMO it easily could've went to (and should've went to) Miller...or Landry. Edelman has been stellar, even better than Welker was...with the ball in his hands. I'm not talking about making a catch, I'm talking about making plays after. He's slippery as hell.

And my post had nothing to do with crowning RT or any such BS. He has nothing to do with Brady or what I posted.

Brady threw for 6.6 YPA (below average) yet they won the game with only a few yards on the ground. That speaks to a team win does it not?

    They're made better...by BB 1st, Brady a distant 2nd, IMO.

I think a short week helps us here, because it's one thing for Belichick to correctly guess what we're going to do, it's another thing to actually coach his players and have them executing the way he wants them to.

We have a certain element of surprise and Belichick just won't have the time to dissect everything and have his players soak it all up and actually execute correctly.

All that being said, the fact that we're playing up there makes things extremely hard for all the reasons other people already stated. I think we'll play really hard and the final score will be within 7 points, I just don't know if we'll come out with a win.

The last time the Dolphins beat New England in Foxborough was Sept 21, 2008 but as it seems right now, THESE Dolphins are not the Dolphins that have been perennial losers in New England.

If Miami plays with the intensity they've played the last two weeks, look for New England to be handed their first loss...and the Dolphins to finally start getting the respect they deserve.

Edelman is a good receiver made a lot better because of Brady. A lot. He's not putting up those numbers with anyone else not super elite. Probably not even Rodgers. Brady is on pace to throw for 5,400 yards with a HOF level TE but no other elite player at any other position on offense, and a piecemeal oline.

The NFL needs to stop suing Brady. It never works out well.

IF our guys are going to get to him, they need to do it fast.

I'm thinking it won't be close, one team is going to win big.

If the phins can play with intensity and pressure Brady through their patchwork OL, then I think the Dolphins have enough on offense to run over the Pats. Especially when we have guys like Parker and Stills who have been essentially under wraps so far this year. I'd feel better of Jay Ajayi was available at full health, for the surprise factor. So if the Patsies scoring is kept low I see us winning well.

But if the patsies can slow down the pass rush enough for Brady to dissect our coverage then I think they can score a lot of points. And as much as I like Dan Campbell I haven't seen enough from our offense to feel good about them if they're put into a gunslinger duel. When our offense has become predictable we've been shut down. So if the Patsies score a lot of points and force us into pass or die I see us falling behind.

I think our DL can disrupt their OL, but it's a Thursday night away game which strongly favors the home team. So I think we win, and win well, but not with a high degree of confidence.

    Win (but only IF):

    - Keep pounding Lamar. Does not sound right because he seems to hit a wall in parts of the game, but keep running him. Any other back is simply....not good enough. I did not really appreciate how much Lamar means to this team until recently.

    - Linebackers keep their heads on a swivel with this underneath stuff and wrap tackle. Hit them hard if you can, but make sure you make the tackle.

    - D line continues with its ascent. This could be an early Thanksgiving, but then we go back to the LBs with the quick hits from Brady. He's going to get his. Minimize YAC in those situations. Keep it third and long. Makes it easier.

    - Tannehill shines when Miller shines. While Miller has put up yards the past few weeks, his workload has been relatively light. Not sure this will be the case. I can see Miller getting 25 carries. Bring your lunchbox, Miller! Why? The less time Brady has the ball, the better.

    - 1 for 9 on third down WILL NOT work against this team. But I think Miami's offense matches up well. Smart passes, Tanny. You are not Tom Brady. But you can be Ryan Tannehill. Wouldn't be surprised in some run-option to keep the chains moving.

    - LEAVE IT ALL OUT ON THE FIELD. You get a long week to recover. Fight for everything! But understand (coaches included) that this is not the final exam. Win or lose, build from this.

**Funny how the tides have changed with the poll with a bunch of media stuff coming out yesterday. I'm in, too!**

To be quite frank, offense isn't going to win this game. It's going to be the defense that decides the game. Our secondary is suspect, there's no doubt about that so it's going to be up to Suh, Mitchell, Wake and Vernon to get to Brady...get to him early and get to him often. New England has all but abandoned any type of running offense, putting it all on Brady and the passing game. Figure that Brady's going to drop back to pass 9 out of 10 plays. Of those pass attempts by Brady, the defense needs to knock him to the ground 8 out of 10 times, hurrying him, causing him to either take a sack, or throw early. That's the only way our secondary is going to be able to match up against Brady.

Offensively, we just need to keep pounding the ball on the ground, wear down their defense and chew up the clock.

First of all, traveling to New England on only three days rest is an advantage for the Patriots. In regards to preparation for the game. Belichick has been a head coach for years and he has experience at preparing his team to play games on a few days rest. His record of 8-0 on Thrusday night games clearly shows this.

While Campbell has certainly changed the culture of this team. He is now going to be facing off against the best head coach in the NFL along with one of the top QB's to ever play in the NFL. I just see this as a huge advantage for the Patriots tonight.

Right now I believe the Patriots are a better team than the Dolphins. They are playing at home where they rarely lose and the fact the Dolphins didn't have much time to prepare for the game is also a big advantage for the Patriots, IMO.

You are certainly free to disagree with me and in a few more hours we will get to see if I am right or hopefully completely wrong in my view that the Patriots will win tonight.

Only problem with the "short preparation week" argument is that the home team win percentage in the NFL is around 57%, and for Thursday night games it's 57.8%, hardly a difference. So statistically speaking the argument Alex13 gave is probably more on the mark: it's the same for both teams so the short preparation week itself probably isn't a major factor in the outcome.

Also, I'm not sure where people get this 8-0 record on Thursday night games stat. The Patriots are 3-1 in Thursday night games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Network_Thursday_Night_Football_results_(2006–present)

That's since 2006, but this site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thursday_Night_Football shows the record of all teams for Thursday night games up until 2013 and the Patriots are 2-1, so including the 2014 game from the first link the Patriots are 3-1 in Thursday night games.

Best case scenario we blow up their online and shut down their run and pass gm. Offensively our run gm probably gets shut down but our receivers can exploit their secondary. Worst case. Belichik outschemes campbell and we lose badly. I'll go best case scenario dolphins 28-13. And the tannehill detractors will focus on the six incomplete passes and say we should have scored 52 points

Well I did predict they would beat the Texans last week. So I guess I was optimistic before that game.

I want the Dolphins to win tonight, but I tend to think of myself as more realistic than optimistic in regards to the Dolphins.

Hopefully over the coming 10 weeks, this team and coaching staff will give me a reason to be more optimistic about the long range future of this organization.

If we do that's fantastic, if we don't the season aint over. Especially with how bad most of the AFC looks this year. I think if the Dolphins play like they have been under Campbell and the Patriots can't stop our offense we will beat them.

We have to show up on both sides of the ball to win this game on the road. That's what must happen to achieve a win.
