Very much agreed. No matter how dominant one team is over another, in-rivalry games are very exciting, and build a lot of excitement towards the game. We (The []_[] ) are pretty bad right now, but it would still be great to have a game to look forward to, like a UF/UM Matchup.

I dont like to see my two favorite college teams play each other on a regular basis. One is bound to knock the other off in the rankings .

BTW most Gator fans dont consider UM to be one of its top rivals. It comes after FSU,Georgia ,Tenn .

Depends on the age of the fan. I know a lot of older gator fans that despise miami (and vice versa). Heck ask anyone canes fan old enough to remember the gator flop and you can see their blood start to boil. Younger fans like myself who grew up with the game being played every few years never really developed it as a rivalry and could care less.

SOB. Not sure what to think here. First of all, why is he juicing?

Stinks. Was really starting to get excited about this team. I am not a big fan of Harris. I think we may be ok in some games, but not looking forward to Sat now in Death Valley.

Not a gator fan but my jaw is dropped by this news.. seriously thought the Gators had a chance at making the playoff, they've been so dominant.. I guess we'll see how good Treon Harris is now

Yeah this hurts. Was just starting to enjoy Saturday football again. Really hope Harris is up to the task. I still have faith in this coaching staff, but this stinks.

I hope Harris comes in fired up and ready to play. The starting job was basically his coming into the season hopefully losing out on the job will spark a fire under his *** and is out to prove them wrong.

Just so we're clear, PED does not equal steroids. He was suspended for using Ligandrol

Ligandrol to me has more advantages for him than steroids

Ok. for us novices, what the heck is Ligandrol?

All I read is it was an OTC supplement. Granted he should have had the training staff check it out, but if it is that bad why is it OTC? (not trying to defend the guy, real question. I still think he should have asked the staff. He is a kid though too...)

It's an androgen receptor modulator, it helps retain weight and bulk. Helps cut body fat in high percentages comparatively to body fat - like 1 -3% which is a lot when you're considering a top male athlete has under 10%

Interesting. Now my question, not sure you can even answer or anyone can. IF this is not right for athletes to have... WHY is it over the counter? Seriously, some HS kid can walk in to a store and buy it. Yet, it is illegal for the NCAA. WHY make it illegal? does it have some other side effects? I am just confused to this rule.

It also gives you a ridiculous pump/energy boost.

And those supplements are sold at any supplement store/local gyms. I never seen Ligandrol over the counter, that might be more of an online order, but Im pretty sure even C4 is a banned supplement.

Sucks that Grier got suspended for whatever substance he used and why it was used. At least he can still practice and get better. Scout team will have a hell of a QB moving forward lol. Treon isn't great but I'm interested to see how he plays in this system and how the offense will change:

The ONLY way I think he stays if this was some how a case of mistaken identity. Meaning it was someone that looked like him, but was not really him. I think that is the ONLY way he stays. He is currently suspended indefinitely. Which if found guilty will turn into kicked off the team. Hope for his sake, he can turn it around and not spend his life in jail.

Amen. Also read the day before he placed the gun to her head. WTF. Dude is unstable!

I know women make sane men do crazy things, but this is WAY WAY WAY over that line. Shame, was getting a great education for free. Yet now he'll probably be in prison.

If the Gators take care of business they will face LSU again. LSU have better athletes and basically won both line of scrimmages but they had to come up wih a trick play to win the game. Next time the Gators and Harris will be better. They have a chance. The team has a lot of heart.

What are the predictions for this weekend?

I really like our chances as I feel UGA has not been playing real good football. Especially w/o Chubb....

Florida beat Georgia with a solid running game last year . Gators dont seem to have the horses to repeat that this year. No power back like Jones and the OL is still far from solid although improving every game.
Mark Richts job is on the hot seat and a win over Florida will relieve that pressure .And they have had great recruiting classes .They have good talent besides Chubb.

This should be a tough rivalry game but I think Gators will win in a closer game than anticipated if they can avoid turnovers.

I am not a fan of Richt. I think his teams always underachieve. I honestly think it will be close early, but I don't think their offense can do much on our Defense. Their QB has not looked good and now without Chubb their running game has not been great either. I think it will be low scoring and as long as we do not turn the ball over I think we win.

You are right about Richt.Horrible job of coaching .I hope the Canes dont get him .I would say Georgia lost the game more that the Gators won it. The dominant defense and a few big plays was enough to win the game but I hope the offense improves by the time they play FSU and West division champs.

We definitely control our own destiny. Vandy nor South Carolina should give us much trouble. So if we continue to play the way we have... We have FSU who looks beatable. Especially if Cook is out. Then whoever comes out of the west. IF - I know getting WAY ahead of ourselves here, but IF we win those games, I don't think there is any way we are NOT in the playoffs. That being said, Treon has to get MUCH better if we are going to win those games. He still makes BAD decisions and is not that accurate. I still don't know what he was doing not protecting the ball when he tried to scramble on 3rd and 5 with 3 defenders right on him. HOPEFULLY Coach Mac is helping him.

I have to say, I really did not expect ANYTHING this year. I was more hoping next year or for sure the year after would be the good years. I have to say I am somewhat giddy for the prospects of this team under Mac. :D

Now that we have had a chance to see both QBs I can see why Grier won the job.He is taller and can see the WRs in the midfield which Harris cant. Grier has a quicker release and does a better job of finding the TEs.
We have not seen much of the TEs since Harris took over .With Grier at QB I think this team would have run the table and be in the national playoff picture. But as you say no Gator can complain with the results no matter how they finish up.

I repeat what I said earlier in this thread.I grew up in South Florida as a Dolphin and Canes fan . Went to UF because my GI Bill was honored there and because of my career choice . I started to go to UF college games and became a fan .Lived in Gainsville for 6 yrs .

I think there may be others who grew up in South Florida who have had the same experience. In fact some statistics show that there are almost as many Gator fans in South Florida as Cane fans.

But if they play each other I root for the Gators. However I really dont like them playing each other. Its like going to war against Canada .:wink2:
