With right tackle Ja’Wuan James out with a toe injury, the assumption was that his replacement would be Jason Fox, who filled in for James late against New England on Thursday. That might not be the case.

Interim coach Dan Campbell floated the possibility that guard Dallas Thomas might be shifted back to tackle, which likely would open the door for rookie Jamil Douglas to rejoin the starting lineup. Douglas was bumped to the bench when Campbell decided to go with Billy Turner at guard.

I'm still waiting for us to have an OL coach (like the Pats) that can take not-so-great OL players and produce a nice functioning unit. I'll hold off criticizing Campbell on this (what seems like a disaster) move until we see how he can get the guys to play together. All we need is to go back to pre-Patriots play and we have a good chance of downing Buffalo.

Dan Campbell understands how bad jason fox is and realizes he's looking at possibly six losses if he starts him. Might as well take a flyer. It cant get any worse

    This confirms 3 things

    1. Season is over

    2. Tannehill will be in the ER before seasons end

    3. The ghost of Joe Philbin lives on in this organization.

I dunno, I think John Fox is a decent coach. Didn't get a fair shake in Denver IMO.

Could it possibly be that Dallas Thomas (who has experience at the position) is our best option at this point? I know he sucks *** no matter where he is at on the field, but if Philbin saw it that way, and Campbell sees it that way what does that say about the other options available? I think the idea would be to get the "most" experienced players out there. Thomas I guess just knows the offense and where to be, but he sure as hell can't block for crap. Maybe Douglas does better this go around? I don't know man, tryin to stay positive about this bull****.

It's tough for many to believe that maybe those guys are the best options, especially when they are that bad. To me that is an indictment on our GM as much as our head coach. We need better starters and back ups. Dallas Thomas should be the 3rd option off a bench, not a starter.

With Wake out for the remainder of the season and James out for at least a month, the Dolphins will have more than six losses no matter who they put at the RT position.

I think its definitely a possibility. Any win we get will largely be due to the coaching staff and what tricks they can come up with

Disappointing to say the least- Thomas is awful at Guard but a pure turnstile at OT- if Campbell plays him at RT instead of Fox I'll be disappointed.

The bottom line is that this team is so bad at managing the OL, except for 1st round draft picks and pricey free agents like Albert, they have to get someone on staff who can draft OL well and then develop the talent. What they've done with OL draft picks after the first round and developing OL has been a disaster. The cupboard is bare, and Thomas back to RT. What a disgrace.

    Well away from here
He should be the third option to replace the person manning the drive through at McDonalds let alone a professional athlete.

So our best option is to put him at RT against Mario Williams? So we're planning on using two tight ends the whole game with the other one being another offensive lineman? Because that's the only way I see that working.

Campbell is stuck with this irrational notion of the former coaching staff and the front office that the crap we drafted in the lower rounds and have playing at both guard positions, and as backups, would magically become able to function well in a zone blocking scheme, and didn't need addressing in the offseason. The rest of the season will be the direct result of that opium dream.

We now have people at three of the five offensive line positions who simply cannot play at an NFL level. The results are not likely to be good at Buffalo.

Lol... you'll enjoy the irony of knowing that the Pats OL coach is none other than Sparano's former OL coach: - Dave DeGuglielmo... shockingly, Philbin booted him for his buddy from Texas A&M when he came in 2012.

Dude, no team, especially the Dolphins after BullyGate, is going to draft a possible PR nightmare. Even if it looked like he didn't murder his ex-GF, he was still under suspicion.

Now if he was CLEARED before the draft and we passed on him, then yeah, you would have a right to ***** about it.

If Collins had been cleared he would have gone in the first two rounds. He's starting in Dallas and doing a hell of a job.

I'd like to have him too, I also wish we would have drafted Marpet in the 2nd, however, there is a reason why every single team passed on Collins, not just in the 5th, but the entire draft, I'm more angry about passing on Marpet in the second.

Collins was a top 10 pick if his GF hadn't died. Taking a chance on him in the later rounds would have worked regardless of his outcome or not. If he was found guilty, it's just another wasted pick and next year no one remembers him. You have to take a chance on a player that good sometimes. Ask Jimmy Johnson.

I'll be really thankful if the day ever comes around when we never have to mention Dallas Thomas as a player for this team again.

I expect another dismal offensive day in the air, and on the ground.

Can't believe we still haven't gotten this pathetic OL situation figured out yet. It's like we don't even want to give our offense a chance to succeed.
