This was the Suh we thought we would get. Their style of offense where they can't really change plays at the line, fed right into the inability to correctly match up or double team him effectively. He had seven solo tackles, including a sack and two other tackles behind the line of scrimmage along with multiple hits on the QB. Chris McCain said everyone was feeding off him and he's is like another coach out there for the defensive line. McCain added. “Sometimes he might line us up on the sidelines because he’s seen something, and he’ll tell us what to do the next time". They seemed to have some difficulty in the 1st quarter on where to line up and getting to their positions. After giving up the 16 in the 1st quarter (really only 14 and against a very short field) they only gave up 3 points the rest of the game. Again the inability to audible out of their plays hurt Philly more then it helped as there was confusion with "newer" players in due to injuries. I know many people didn't like adding him but with the injury to Wake (he may not be back), he actually gives us an identity on the defense. Players take some time to gel on a team together especially with the limited reps that the new CBA allows. Let's hope the last couple games that they're starting to hit their stride. He's a great player, possibly a Hofer. There's just a lot of idiots out there that don't understand intellectual and physical talent. It's cool though, he will keep grinding. Suh is the last man on the planet that gives a single f*** about what anybody thinks about his play. He's a special talent.
His increased leadership role could be considered a product of the tumult on defense, firing Kevin Coyle and having Cameron Wake go out with an Achilles injury. However as far as his play is concerned, he's been very good the whole time. He didn't just start getting good. He only just started getting supported better. Or at least, this Philly game was one of the ones where he was supported better by the players around him. There have been a few other such examples this year. Not enough.
lol @ hof. Hey if he keeps this pace up, he'll have a full season of good games by the end of his contract.
Too late. He can't do it alone. This team needs yet another half an overhaul(at least.) We were lucky against Philly like we were lucky against Washington. One of our total two TDs came straight of the lucky variety (and good fortune and skill) of Landry. I hate to say it but it's a good thing we knocked out Bradford and only had to deal with Sancheeze. Any decent QB will slice and dice this secondary and we have no LBers that can cover not even underneath. The talent just isn't there for most positions on both sides of the ball.
This defense should be his the way the Colts offense used to be Peyton Mannings. Suh is that intelligent and that dominant. It's taken some time, but he is at this point fully engaged, and that could be a scary thing. I don't care how bad the guys around him are. He will elevate their play regardless of talent level.
He's had 1 two game stretch without a sack or tfl since his rookie year. Lol at you. You're wrong about Tannehill too btw, just saying. It ain't like Russel Wilson or Andrew Luck are lighting it up this year, we're very fortunite to have Tannehill. We just have a lot of dumb fans who can't recognize or appreciate talent, kinda like you.
Finster even looks like Heath Evans in his profile pic. Coincidence? I think not. And he said Bradford had a bad game, dude had a 118.1 passer rating and went 25/36, that's far from "crappy", but don't let pesky facts stand in the way of your narrative lmao.
He is probably in a bad mood. He has to see a few positive posts about this team in every thread. And on top of that, positive Suh posts! His responses of Suh sucks vs the run and we should try to trade him in the off season got dismantled by Suh's dominant performance yesterday... It Must really be hard to be wrong, and still deny Suh is a really good player Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's proven he's an idiot, I knew this a while ago. Let's move on. Great performance by the D yesterday, and Tannehill's durability, tell me that junks ain't clutch. Ask Philly fans if durability matters at that position, I think I know the answer.
Suh's always been good, but I think Coyle was misusing him initially, having him eat up multiple blockers on purpose. I guess the thinking was others would step up, which they didn't (as you point out). But I guess it finally dawned on people that you have to use Suh like they did in Detroit and let him be a wrecking ball in the backfield instead of trying to force him to just eat up blockers. I'm glad they figured that out so we can see Suh isn't the problem (early in the season a lot of people were questioning his play).
I recorded the game yesterday and watched it again this morning. Suh played his best game as a Dolphin yesterday. He was like a man playing against boys. He will never be worth all the money the Dolphins signed him for, because no one is worth that type money. Yet he and Jones are by far the two best players on this defense and it is these two players this defense needs to be built around for the future.
Sadly enough, you will probably equal his productivity; of course we're talking about relevant posts you'll accumulate over the same duration. However I'm willing to go so far as to say you'll actually get 17 or 18 of them, sometimes those things come in bunches of 2 or 3 and you have to account for it.
No .. Just make sense using reasonable logic. Nobody asks anybody to agree on anything. Hard to respond to ...trade Suh... Suh sucks vs the run .. Lol@ the haters. And who exactly are they dolphin 25? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lol, I stated an opinion and was attacked from every angle by all the football experts, 25 is spot on, say what all you football experts want to hear or get attacked, I find it rather amusing however so...
It has nothing to do with saying what people want to hear. It does, however, have EVERYTHING to do worth not making ridiculous claims worth zero substance to them.
Honestly , I don't see any kind of attack. Probably some people who have had to deal with you on previous things. I have ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT, you find this all terribly amusing. You writing"all you football experts" I find amusing . Nobody says they are an expert. Nobody . You make statements to draw a response and then are outraged when you are ridiculed for it... That I find rather amusing also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Suh's been averaging just over 7 sacks per year.. he's exactly on pace for that now too so it's not the sacks per se. I think it's because his first few games with us he rarely got into the backfield and pressured the QB or stuffed a run. Now that he's doing that consistently, the criticism is drying up.
"Idiots don't understand talent" ... No, idiots don't know a loser when they see one... He's a loser, he's a randy Moss, Vontae Davis etc.... he's more a punk than a leader.. Simply physically gifted, hardly coachable...and believes that's enough.....I want team players, I want winners. Having a "talent"ed POS is nothing to get excited about. His m.o. Is cheap shots, more than anything. Suh has been a cancer to this team.
I would hope he'd actually have a game like that at least once this year. For the money, we should be getting at least 12. I thought it was going to be a massacre after the first quarter, but the defense definitely stepped it up and got physical - very reminiscent of the Titans game. I'm sure it helped that Bill Lazor coached practices against that Eagle defense and on that I won't get overly excited until this team gets overly consistent. Nice win though. Btw Bradford and those WR's look awful.
Let's see... - 3 FIRST-TEAM All-Pro (i.e. BEST at his position in the entire league...Dan Marino also had 3) - 4 Pro Bowls (not as good as All-Pro tags, but not lame either) 5+ year career... THAT has HoF written all over it, if he can maintain his play throughout his career, and there's nothing showing he can't. He already has the same amount of First-Team-All-Pro designations as Marino...let me say again...IN 5 YEARS!
Obviously you haven't looked at DT's in the HoF, Suh is not on track. W Sapp is the last guy to get in, and he was hands down better at every aspect of DT, especially the run, it wasn't possible to move him with one man, and playmaking ability, Suh doesn't create TOs, Suh is all icing; 1st 5 years Suh, 36 sacks, 2 FF, 1 FR Sapp, 42 sacks, 11 FF, 5 FR At this point you wonder if Suh will ever reach those numbers of FF and FR, and Sapp ended up with 96.5 sacks, plus the 19 FF and 12 FR, which are potential game changing plays, Suh is real short on those, and can't touch Sapp in the run stuffing dept. Suh is a LONG way off HoF induction.
Getting in the HoF isn't just about stats, but since that's the basis of your argument, you can look at other HoF defensive tackles and find Suh is arguably on track. What about Cortez Kennedy? Kennedy had 58 sacks, 11 FF and 6 FR in his career, plus 8 Pro-Bowls and 3 first team All-Pro's, over his 11 year career. Suh already has 4 first team All-Pro's (already in 5 years more than Kennedy had in his entire career), 4 Pro Bowls (on track to have at least as many as Kennedy), and more sacks in his first 5 years (36 vs. 32). It's ONLY the FF's and FR's where Kennedy > Suh. I really doubt people are going to say.. who cares about all the other areas where Suh > Kennedy. Let's just look at FF's and FR's. No.. Suh is on track for sure.
Did you even read my comment, holy cow? I mentioned twice that Sapp was much better against the run, and highlighted the TO plays that he made and that Suh DOES NOT, that is critical, and I left out the DPoY that Sapp also got, CK also got one of those. Kennedy was an immovable object, that could also rush the passer, and a tackling machine for a DT, very rare combo, and he had to wait 7 years to get in, Suh is a passrushing DT who is not a great run defender. Sapp and Kennedy ROUTINELY destroyed 2x, it took 2 guy just to try and hold them in check, Suh gets handled by 2x. All pros and probowls are nice, but are not what qualifies you for the HoF, every player that gets in has them, dominance on the field is what gets you in the HoF, and Suh is a far cry from these guys.
Lol, it's debatable, but saying he's not even in the discussion is just biased and inaccurate. Great points cbrad, but a man like this isn't going to debate you logically, he has an agenda.
they are the ones who get upset over anything said negative. Show a single post where anyone said trade Suh.
Gladly Dolphin 25... Post #19 in thread "Dolphins can clear lots of cap space" . I will gladly tell you who wrote it... Finster. But I'm sure you have an explanation for it. If you keep reading further in that thread, Finster comes up with his other insightful post of .. Suh sucks vs the run Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, in a public forum one has to expect push back when they state their opinion...especially when its silly. What exactly do you think this place should be.....a forum for you to say anything you want and no one is allowed to disagree/question your reasoning? Its a pretty consistent cry amongst the Tannehill Haters Club, that they want to be able to express their opinion and have no one question it. Every thread, "Wah, why can't I say anything I want without people arguing it, wah."
The last few games since Campbell came into the picture Suh has been playing much better. That of course is on the previous coaching staff, and it was right to complain about that, as SUH himself did.
HE was talking of clearing up cap space. You also realize that experts are talking about who can be cut to clear up cap space right? If it is a discussion on clearing space then it is a legitimate way to clear space. Not anything I would do, but it is a way to clear space.
