Happy with a win, the naysayers are going to naysay.

Do think THill is not playing his best football yet, for the first time since Wake went down, felt like we had some answers on Defense. The lb's are suspect the secondary did fine overall and Suh is stepping into his role as inside force.
    '
Now if only the dummy plays would stop, especially on special teams, if ST plays better, they have a couple of hidden yards wins tucked away. Blocked a punt that became a Td, a missed Fg by Sturgis..

Downside was a Safety due to poor decision making (-2 pts) and the ensuing free kick led to more Eagles points.

I didn't realize there were "accepted opinions" on the site.

WADR, you're just as close-minded as you accuse others of being, when we point out why your arguments don't hold water, but you refuse to acknowledge what you're being told. You hold yourself as the Oracle of knowledge, finding stuff in your evaluation of tape, for instance, that literally no one else on the planet had seen. You mock those who you disagree with, and generally take a condescending tone. It's exactly why you guys write out your welcome on the other site.

You came to a new site, spewed your stuff, caught flak for it, and then decided to hang around and stir the pot.

Right. I ranted about Tannehill during game one. I complained about the defense last game, then realised how well they played second half, and who they actually had playing. I stopped complaining about them.

Nothing wrong with constructive criticism, but the constant negativity is what creates so much animosity.

Do I need to post screenshots for you of my logins for those other sites again? It's called leaving on your own volition. Same for Finster. Luckily the sum of the parts make up for the handful of vigilantes who patrol these forums. Aside from them, I quite like it here.

I didn't say you got banned.

I'm pretty confident most of them are happy you're posting over here now, from the stuff I've read over there.

You really should jump over to Finheaven. They'd be much more welcoming of your post substance and style.

Not even trying to be a d!ck with that tip. You'd probably enjoy it over there more.

It's not like we're win-less in our own division or anything ....... sweep that under the rag though, we stole a game in Philly.

I said it was a good win - but what has changed in the grand scheme of things?

Now please, can we continue discussing this for the millionth time? It's your go-to conversation. It's concerning you take that much time out of your life to go read up on my interactions at some other fan forum.

    It's changed nothing. Point?

Want to talk about winless in the division? Start a thread about it. Don't bring it up in a thread that's for being happy about the win.

I don't "despise" anyone's opinions. No matter how much I disagree. It's about time and place. This thread isn't the place for negativity. It says so in the title. It says so in the OP.

Besides, this place loves me. They need me. They can't get enough of me. I am the engine that keeps this place running. I am the light that shines through the darkness.

great win! that first quarter had me really thinking hard about this team. i was ready to give up on the season. it was frustrating to watch. nothing was going right.
something snapped in our team and we started playing D and pressuring Bradford and making defensive stop. Glad this team didn't give up

There's some names on this forum you just don't see around after we win.

Oh and if Tannehill has a good game, ghost town.

I actually imagine certain people were legit pissed off when landry found a way to catch that tipped ball for the game winning touchdown.

I seriously doubt anyone posting here was upset with the win. And that wasn't a game winning TD, there were other plays to be made to preserve the win.

Personally, I was our OC could figure out how to call plays inside the 10 yard line. inside the 5 gets downright scary.

90% of those people you speak of... are the exact ones he's talking about btw...

It's ok to be negative, and point out flaws. It's how the message is delivered that is the problem. It's the negative ones, that prefer to just ***** and complain, insult, rather than intelligently discussing things. I'm not referring to you, but exactly what you described and explained, is exactly what he's complaining about. It's not about "positive" people, or "homers" refusing to accept a negative view point, it's about those expressing the negative viewpoints, doing so without really applying any sort of intelligence, and adding anything of substance other than... "This sucks.. .that sucks... he sucks... she sucks. Ross sucks." blah blah blah. Nobody wants to hear that crap, and we have several usual suspects that repeatedly do it with those types of comments, or sarcastic tones and responses. The point here is to talk, and discuss this team while respecting opposing viewpoints. That doesn't happen very often with a specific group of individuals.

I don't think that's realistic and it seems pretty strange to think there are fans who root against success, even short term success.

    I don't understand why if you're critical, you're a "hater" and if you're optimistic you're a "fanboy."

Both seem like lazy conclusions when we're all just here to discuss what we believe is best for the team.

Thanks Brandon... Thank you so much. You nailed it. All common sense. Nobody could have expressed that any better. That's what makes this site better than the rest in my eyes. No problem disagreeing with others in a respectful intelligent debate. Lately though , this site has evolved in becoming more like the others, and it saddens me. Name calling, trolling and silly comments are becoming more common.. The same things I left other sites for and the main reason why I love this one. IMHO, this site has taken a turn for the worse

I don't know why it hasn't been fixed. It's the same few posters over and over that fight with the majority here. People who have a positive mindset here are called delusional and are hammered by the same negative people all the time. These people are NOT mearly "realists" with a differing opinion, they are people who get no joy out of the Dolphins anymore and drag others down with them.

People come here to enjoy the Dolphins football team. We all know this team isn't very good and haven't been in some time but we don't need to hear the same BS regurgitated over and over.

People have the right to their opinions but if the same people cause a stir up day after day they should lose the right to post here and be forced to leave.

Completely understand what you're saying and I agree, but Boik addressed some of this a month of so ago. The board has built in controls - use the ignore feature and also use some self-control. If you see someone's name who you know is only dogging the team, simply skip their post.

Personally, there are 3 people who never write anything I agree with, so I don't bother to read what they write. I think if more people did this, the one's you're taking issue with would be less of an issue overall as fewer people would engage with them and they'd move on.

Don't let them get you down, man. It was a fantastic win on many levels. Enjoy it and look forward to the next game.

    YMMV.

Never once in all of my discussions have I ever questioned anyone's fandom, told them to go root for another team, or told them to leave the site.

It's almost literally the most immature thing you can do. That's what gossiping teen girls do. This isn't high school.

I just wanted ONE thread, just ONE thread without the negative flow. I just wanted to wallow in the win. Bask in the glow. Not to be homer. I see the flaws. I see the problems. I just don't understand why we can't just have ONE thread where some of you refrain from blowing it up with the negative bull c r a p. Can't you just give you're fellow Dolphin fans just ONE thread to be happy about the win. I'm sorry I even posted. It's turned into a pile of *&^%%#$$*&*.

Thanks for stomping on our necks. You know who you are.

But as I've come to learn. People like to drag down other so it makes it seem like their miserable lives aren't as miserable as they are if everyone else is on the same plane as them. See the crab analogy.

I know I'm probably one of the 3 guys he's talking about. i feel that anytime I'm critical I'm sort of by default being a dick. I don't enjoy that. I suppose I simply view football in a more "negative" way. I don't take offense at any sort of analysis, good or bad, and to be honest, I don't really get any joy out of hyping guys up just because they're Dolphins. It just seems hollow to me.

I sincerely apologize if I'm a drag. I don't intend to be but I guess I'm just the kind of guy who even if the Dolphins won a Super Bowl would still be more interested in how they're going to repeat than in reveling in any sort of jubilation. I think you'd all find (if you looked) that there's a lot of people who are just not that into celebrating, particularly small successes. To me, the joy is really in learning and in understanding how the success happened.

I'm going to be a nicer and more optimistic guy because it's not my right to ruin anyone else's forum, I know that much. If I'm a negative influence I'll be happy to curb my tendencies.

What I hate, is really coming off as a negative person when in reality I'm as psyched for these games every week as anyone else. I love Tannehill in a lot of ways. I loved when Miami reached on him. It was about dang time. The criticism is just...I don't know...a natural reflection of my views I guess and to be honest I think it's kind of easy to talk about Tannehill critically because he doesn't have all the wins and team success that other average QBs do (Dalton, Flacco, Ryan, etc.). Does Tannehill deserve a play-off appearance? Yeah, absolutely! It's BS that those other guys walk right into good situations and Ryan doesn't. I feel for him, but I think I've always tried to project whether or not he's good enough to win the big one. That, to me, is a more philosophical question but when you follow a bad team, it's somewhat soothing to think in that more abstract way.

I'll say one other thing. We need to be nicer to each other. We need to view this whole thing as a community if not a family. We jump down each other's throats WAY too much. There's really no need. Lose the sarcasm and the backbiting. If someone can get away with being overly optimistic, we should be just as considerate in letting a few negative gripes go unpunished as well. Not every person needs to be ridiculed for every little thing they say that might be a little out there. Relax guys, this is not really a forum as much as it is a chat room given how much we all post here. If we're going to post this much and say things so off-hand we need to relax and at least make an attempt to mend fences and extend a hand.

I pledge to not be so critical going forward and to avoid getting personally offended when someone calls me out. On the other side of that, we each need to call each other out less and to do so in a friendlier way (that means less hyperbole and unnecessary sarcasm).

    Agreed 100% on this.

To expand on the issue at hand...

I think what we should be saying and encouraging is what we've always done and what was just the normal around here for so long. Any sort of opinion is ok, but explain your positions, discuss it, we're not all ever going to agree thankfully, or this would be a really boring place. Expressing ourselves in those disagreements the appropriate way is the key. I don't always agree with you in particular, I don't think I've ever pointed it out, because I have no interest in arguing over certain things, but I can appreciate your opinions and perspective even if I don't necessarily agree at this point in time, and it allows me to see some things in a different slant of light. That's what this is all about IMO.

Not the types of posting we've been seeing with the certain comments that some are referring to in here that add nothing of value, or than abruptly saying someone sucks because I said so and I don't care what you think, I said they suck, and that's good enough. Life doesn't work that way. I think people are more frustrated with the small handful that are just here to ruffle feathers, as opposed to talking about the team and football with other fans. For me, that's why I love coming here, up here in the great white north, I'm not surrounded by many Dolphins fans. It's great to come here and chat on gamedays, and through the week about this team because I don't have that opportunity with other fans here. It's ok to be negative and down on the team, but lets discuss it civilly and in depth, not just by throwing around jabs at the team, or players, or posters for their opinion. That goes for those on each side really.

I get that the mains is a little more lenient, but there should be a floor as well. Bring something other than attitude. I also get you've got to be careful with that, you still want to grow the site, so newcomers are a good thing, we just all need to do a better job at agreeing and disagreeing with each other around here. It's hard as frustrating as this team has been to watch, no doubt about that, but we can all do better.

Either way, we're all Dolphins fans.

Group hug. Just keep your hands to yourselves.
