I guess we're going to conveniently ignore Tannehill missing an open Landry by a mile on a crucial play.

Landry 18 targets really. Next closest sims and Parker with 5. Ya don't see Brady or Rogers do that

Basically 18 targets for 99 yards and no tds I don't call that very good

You live in your own world and see things nobody else does.

    Time to ignore the madness.

  4. yup the offense could not close the deal and the defense could not keep the lead. Both sides of the ball are inadequate

Exactly all look like Hall of famers against us. Further more Tanny practices against these morons. Then on game day goes up against what feel like a team of Hall of famers. I like Tanny, and for all the haters yeah he had a few miss throws tonight.

Blaming him though, and ignoring that secondary, the nearly none existent pass rush is silly

Pathetic! Not even a good enough word but I'm out of words that describe this sh*t. What the hell happened to miller? He was averaging 8 yds a carry. Defense can't stop anyone, get rid of Thomas I don't know how many coverages he blew tonight. Still a joke this team is except now I can hardly laugh anymore.

They actually gave the offense two opportunities to tie in the 4th. But let's put it all on them. This offense has been crap most of the season and when that's the case the guy behind center usually has at least something to do with it.

That's fair. You just can't abandon the run in such a close game. Almost 50 throws for the game. Unless you're Belichick dink and dunk, you're simply not winning that way.

I already miss Lamar Miller. Did he get sucked into a worm-hole at halftime?

It's mind boggling how hard some will work to shield Tannehill from his share of the blame for the inept offense. He should have hit Landry on that third down play near the end of the game. Missing by that much is called coming up small in a big moment. This has become the norm with him. Does Eli miss that throw? Hell no. No decent QB in the league does. They'll at least put the ball in the neighborhood.

Defense was vanilla as hell. Weirdly so. Can't do that against a QB-WR combo like the Giants have.

Miller had to be hurt, right? Right...?!?!?!

For those of you wanting Ryan to have ran on the 3rd and 11 instead of throwing to Landry because it was wide open for him to run for the first down...

Pretty obvious the Giants defender either at the 49 likely catches him from behind, or the guy at the 38 continues coming up towards the LOS and makes the tackle well short. Ryan did the right thing throwing to Landry, who was open. Not the easiest throw kind of across his body like that the way he's throwing it because he was on the move, but it's a throw he needed to make. It was the right decision IMO... he just missed it.

  17. actually im not overally impressed with eli either but i do get your point and would take elie over tanny any day of the week. I have come to accept Tanny isnt the guy who wins games weeks ago.

This offense sure misses Rishard Matthews. He makes some of those catches and breaks a few tackles. We need to re-sign him

That's such a horse****t blanket statement. For someone who has "played the game" you sure miss a lot.

The offensive line played like sh*t as soon as the 2nd half started and Tannehill handled the pressure better than we have ever seen from him. But you won't see that because you don't want to. You're too mad at him for not being absolutely perfect.

Inept offense? We put up 24, while being completely unbalanced again. Gave up 31, way too easily.

It's a throw he's got to make, I'd agree with that, but it's not an easy throw, watch the play again, he's running, he twists his body around to try and square himself to the throw. I felt maybe he rushed it a bit. There's a guy from the Giants DL closing in on him. It wasn't simple by any means IMO... he still should have thrown a better ball though IMO. The pic I posted above, kind of shows his odd body position throwing that pass.

His presence was noticeably better. His downfield accuracy has got to get a lot better now. I used to defend his downfield accuracy but it's impossible at this point.

Yeah - should Tanne have made the throw? Probably

Could he have run for the first / close to it? Maybe

In any case - I'm not sure if it mattered...our Defense didnt give any sign of stopping them to hold on at the end.

Not sure why we abandoned the run yet again.

I still firmly believe that some OL help and some help on D and we are in good shape. I'm left wondering how realistic that is with our cap situation and a single draft class. =\

Then you're clearly not watching the games because his down field accuracy has been very good this season.

Fumble, drops, penalties, defense, going away from run. Tannehill, Miller, Darr had good games.

It's not an easy throw but they get paid millions to make it. If he doesn't get better at those things he won't last. He did some good things with his feet and his pocket movement improved but the points and plays left on the field always loom large when you're a losing team.

Here's the problem with your post...I never said the OL was great or good. Never said he didn't elude pressure well tonight. In fact, if you look back at my posts during this game, I was very impressed with Ryan and his quick decision making and pocket presence.

No, what I'm bringing up is him not making the necessary plays when they are needed. 3rd and 11s. 3rd and 5s. Late in the game. Etc.

So please spare me of your banality, Prometheus.

As I said earlier, for a HC preaching the run... he sure let his OC abandon it for some odd reason, very, very early. Sealed his fate for the position next year IMO.

If Tannehill runs it on that 3rd & 11, which I think he should have, he at least sets up a managable 4th and 3 situation.

There's multiple reasons tonight for all of that, outside of the QB. He left plays on the field, sure, but yet again, this OL struggled to get their heads out of their asses. Falsestarts, holding, Landry's stupid penalty, the defense ****ting the bed all night long, all made this game more difficult to win, than it needed to be. Not just missing a pass to Landry. Or a Cameron drop. Or a Tannehill this or that...

Were inconsistent as a team. We're undisciplined. It goes on and on, and on. Stabilize the OL, get a real, competent coaching staff in here, we're a significantly better team. Yet again, we wilted, in our own environment, our supposed home field advantage BEFORE our opponent.

I thought it was a damn good game to watch too. Really enjoyed it.

DeVante Parker needs to learn the scrambling drill better.

Tannehill was better but he also missed some crucial passes.

The OL is ridiculously bad, especially when it comes to penalties.

Our entire defense is noticeably depleted which is why we have Suh playing practically every snap.

It's so crazy the Dolphins finally put up points and the defense can't make any stands. Dolfan life.

I am glad the team showed some fight though.

Defense sucks and coaching is poor too, but Tannehill is still a wildly inconsistent QB. He throws a great deep TD and people talk about that being proof he's great. Well what about the entire game? And season? And last season?

Tannehill does have talent and he's a good QB. But he isn't consistent and can't be trusted in big games. Does anyone here really trust him in a game, when playing a good opponent (or even bad ones sometimes), where they have a chance to win in the 4th quarter for him to lead them down the field? No. I'm not a "Tannehill Hater" - Just calling what I see. I wish he would be more dependable. I'm sick of the Phins missing the playoffs every year and having to worry about the QB every year. It's certainly not the only problem on the team - there are lots like secondary, coaching, OL. But its the most important position, and even if you give the Dolphins a top 5 Defense like with Fiedler, i'm not sure the results would be much different from those 2000-2003 Phins...though it was much more enjoyable watching them, they still weren't a playoff worthy team because of the QB position. And I fear Tannehill is only marginally better than Fiedler. Give us a top 5 defense and maybe the Phins snatch a wild card spot and then get bounced out easily in the first round.

13th year missing the playoffs out of the past 14. The one constant in all of that? Inconsistent QB's - Tannehill, Fiedler, Pennington and I guess Henne (He had some good moments, and plenty of mediocre and bad ones) and a bunch of poor QB's.

Of course I hope Tannehill will start playing well consistently, including big games and games against real NFL defenses (ahem...Bills games, anyone?). But I just don't see it right now based on these past few years with him.

Need a whole new secondary, Lbers, DE, it's scary back there people. On top of that we need an entire new OL.

This team has so many holes to address I don't know if it's possible to do in 1 offseason. It's most likely a rebuild that will take 2-3 years :(

I've never wanted a season to end so badly. It's painful to watch the same mistakes over and over.
