Did you guys watch the same play I watched? The other 4 OL obviously went off a different snap count

Obviously it was on 2 and Douglas snapped early. If you don't realize that then well.....

Tanny had a decent game. The o-line, a few questionable choices by Dan, and a awful call by the refs was the main reason we lost.

That last play sums up the Dolphin season very succinctly. Incompetence, dysfunction, hope leading to disappointment, and... QB getting crushed.

Fitting, game was fun to watch at least, and our draft position did not suffer

He's got to be the toughest QB in the NFL. Maybe it's best that next year maybe his last if he wants to walk upright the rest of his life.

Did we just leapfrog Baltimore in the draft? Both 5-10, going into the game our opponents' win % was .473, Baltimore .518. Not sure how that shakes out now after the games.

This loss benefits us. Shows us the line still sucks and the draft spot improves.

Tannehill is a tough athlete, not a QB. He's a mental midget as a QB. Tough as nails as an athlete playing the QB position. Give me a QB any day.

The possible jumps that I see are Baltimore and Jax if they lose. Not sure how this plays out.

No he hasn't. He has started every game, and only really missed significant time in a Jets game a few years ago.

I don't think a mental midget could play the way he has despite the fact that his offensive line tried to kill him.

Keep in mind, the D made Charlie Whitehurst look competent, and we were hosed out of a Td on a bogus OPI call.

I'm not the biggest Tannehill fan but I don't hate him either. Whether he can make the next step in his evolution remains to be seen, but he's playing behind an epically bad offensive line. Putrid. Until that's remedied and he can function behind a reasonably good OL, we'll never know what his ceiling is.

Tannenbaum and Hickey basically ignored the OL and look what happened. It's almost the definition of ironic that some posters and Dolphins fans were saying earlier this year that Guard is the least important position on an NFL team. That chicken has come home to roost.

Why not just nickname Tannehill "Timex"? Who else "takes a licking and keeps on ticking" like him?

    Ryan "Timex" Tannehill.

Add in the usual Safety surrendered..6 pts right there.

however have the ball inside the 10 with a minute to go and needing a Td, those plays were not even close to being completed prior to Douglas's error

i wonder if the oline knows that if they keep losing, they are letting miami have a better oline draft and they'll lose their jobs to rooks.

It would be nice to get a draft choice that other teams actually covet, so that we could at least entertain the idea of trading it for more picks or picks and players.

The Miami Dolphins were thisclose to a stirring comeback victory.

They were on the five yard line. Fourth down. Game on the line. Ryan Tannehill in shotgun formation. Receivers ready to attack the end zone one last offensive play.

And then Jamil Douglas snapped the football. Tannehill caught it.

But no one else on the Dolphins moved.

    No one.

Coach Dan Campbell and Tannehill later explained they had a double cadence call, meaning the team would go to the line, give a hard count, then back away to see how the defense reacted before either calling a new play or going with the play called on the next snap count.

Douglas never waited for the second snap count.

And three Indianapolis Colts defenders, seeing the ball snapped prematurely, attacked the quarterback. They sacked Tannehill, collecting one of six sacks on the day.

Does it make me a bad fan that I'm glad it worked out that way? A win does us no good. We have no chance at the playoffs, so, we're essentially playing for draft position.

Nah, that has a chance to be "the snap count heard around the world (except by our center)" if it allows us to draft someone great...

This is the lowest I have ever been as a dolphin fan, for the first time in 20+ years I decided not to watch a dolphins game when I had the opportunity to. I really don't see any kind of light at the end of the tunnel for this franchise.

I dont see how TBaum escapes responsibility for this season other than it was his first season and maybe he gets a mulligan from Ross as is his habit. He never cleans house completely. He always leaves someone in place which complicates the selection process for the next Head Coach.

The exhorbitant contact given to Suh was a way to sell tickets but in effect it prevented the team from signing some FAs that could have helped particularly on the OL where there were opportunities to get better .

What is the good of strengthening the WR core when there was not enough protection for the QB to throw the ball to them .

Everyone could see that our Gs and backup OL were subpar .It was truly a negligent oversight.

What a stress free day yesterday! The Dolphins are completely done this season, the remaining games mean nothing and I didn't even bother going to the local watering hole to watch the game.

The only Dolphins News per say that I did see yesterday was that the '72 Dolphins are STILL the only undefeated team!

Stadium was actually packed for a 5-9 Dolphins team. Much more packed than a 9-5 Dolphins team from years past.
