After this many years as a Fins fan, I am confident we can screw up our first round pick no matter how high or low it is.
Except for the whole business of Parker missing the first part of the season with an injury. He shows flashes...we'll see if he can stay healthy.
6-10 in a season in which this team was suppose to be a legitimate playoff contender. There are no bright spots in those results,IMO.
Actually yes, for this coming draft, and our expected weaknesses, and taking into account our strengths, it is seemingly a big difference. Granted, its a long way to go for sure, including Free Agency, but 5th would have made me far more confident a NEED would be filled. Time will tell if we our fortunate @ 8.
There is no bright side, unless you're a kool-aid drinker and haven't paid attention to anything that's transpired in the last 15 years. It all starts at the top and permeates downward. While it's nice to have an owner not afraid to spend money, his "picker" is what is wrong with the whole equation. He continues strike out when it comes to filling the FO and coaching staff with capable decision makers. That's not going to change barring pure luck. Can't wait for a whole new offseason of adjustments on this forum of which coach, FA, and draftee will finally make this team better.
It's possible to fix the line, and it's possible that a savvy head coach can turn this around quickly. We had a lot of rookies play this year, and it's reasonable to expect improvement. No more Philbin... Remember it's the offseason, this is our time!
