Ross hired Philbin, who at the time was a OC with no previous Head coaching experience. Look how that turned out ROSS hires Gase an OC with no previous HC experience Philbin Hired Kevin Coyle the bengals DB coach, under Paul Guenther, who Dolphins players didn't like the scheme brought over Gase Hires Vance Joseph, the Bengals DB coach, under Paul Guenther HAHAHA, this is too funny!. WE'RE MAKING THE EXACT SAME MISTAKES. THE EXACT SAME.
Just trying to tell you the path you're heading down. Did you even look at the comparisons. How about answer or don't comment at all. Have a nice day
Philbin never had playcalling experience. Gase does. Joseph, our alleged new DC (nothing's been official yet), has been a DB coach across multiple teams since 2005.
Are you guys seriously going to credit Gase with playcalling success in Denver? Oh ya he made a great call on one play against us. Genius! Manning was the OC but in name. Gimmie a break... Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Rodgers said the same exact things about Philbin that Manning has said about Gase. I put zero stock in that. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Nope, just less. Rodgers liked Joe as a person, look at what's not being said, ie almost anything directly related to actual football or play calling in the puff piece below. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-dolphins-1012-20141011-story.html
Rodgers said the same meaningless positive comments about his former coach that Manning has said about his. All I'm arguing is it doesn't mean squat. Everyone knows Manning ran that Denver offense with some input from Gase just as Rodgers ran Green Bays offense with some input from Philbin. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
You just posted on a thread were I posted this: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/20/peyton-manning-richard-sherman-monday-morning-quarterback

Are you seriously trying to compare those? Okay I get it now. I'm done with you. Pointless conversation.
Ok. Do you expect Manning to just come out and say "Adam Gase doesn't deserve to be a head coach, not yet anyway. I called a majority of the plays in Denver, cuz I'm Peyton F'kin Manning. I don't need an OC. He's a nice guy, smart, and all that, but let's not kid ourselves." OF COURSE he's going to say all the right things to say about him. I put as much stock in that as Rodgers said about Philbin. It means nothing to me. And if you can't understand that logic Tacos, then fine with me. I know you're a smart poster. But let's get real here. There's nothing about Gase that stands out to me, nothing at all. So he marginally improved Cutler, we don't even know if that's Gase's doing or Cutler finally decided to learn how to play QB competently. Will the optimistic fans tell me why those of us should just blindly trust that this move will work? Tell me why Gase is going to be an improvement over what we just got rid of. Because I can't think of any. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
I have been a Dolphin fan since 1972. Lord knows this team has given us a lot of things to be embarrassed about ... More than I care to remember. But reading some of the posts today from people who have very little or no knowledge about our HC is a new low. Hasn't even put a staff together yet and he is a BUM, we are doomed, terrible hire ..etc. seriously I have never been more embarrassed to be called a Dolphin fan...if it means being surrounded by some of these posters and being lumped in together with them, I will keep my fandom a secret.. Unless I am around fans that have a clue of what they are talking about.. A lot of posters here do, Thank God!.. Others? Just wow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah we know....we all have social media also. Your threads are as useful as me starting a thread saying "did you know the miami dolphins and miami heat play in miami?!?!?!? MIAMI FLORIDA?!?!?! same city! Same city!" No **** you mouth breather. And we can also name nfl teams that hired coaches with no HC experience and had success. This thread is pointless.
Let me explain to you the politics of the league. "Don't say anything bad about anyone. You never know when you are going to be in need of a job. It makes no sense to to burn bridges." If you look at Gruden's Quarterback Camp, he always likes everyone. Do you really think he likes every QB he works with - probably not. But he's smart enough to realize that if he comes back into the league, one of those players might be on his team. Furthermore, how could he get other QBs to be on his camp if he was truthful. You gotta be able to see through the smoke.
Ok, I think you are missing my point. I will try to explain myself better. The Manning quotes I posted spoke directly to Gases football acumen, his coaching style, and his involvement in Denver's success. They weren't given in responce to quetions about whether or not Gase was a good guy, or if he would make a good head coach. It was about how the Denver offense was called during the play offs, and why certain plays came up. They give an insight into how Gase calls a game, what he expects from a QB, the way he communicates, etc... It's apples and oranges to the generic platitudes Rodgers offered. It's story about Philbin's kids vs "look for this specific look on D, and if you get audible to this play." Or, "there is no way Bellicheat is going to expect us to hand the ball off to our third TE from an empty back field look, this is how we're going to do it." I get that you and others are bummed and don't trust Ross and Co. I don't think I can convince you otherwise, time will tell the story anyway. But, and this is a Kardashian... kradashion... um, huge but, the perception around the league is Gase was the best candidate. Please consider this. Niners wanted him last year, and multiple other teams this year. Philbin wasn't a first choice. The GM whose name I've allready banished from memory wasn't our first choice. The Dolphins got their first choices for both GM and HC. In the same offseason! People other teams wanted. That has got to feel a little nice for once, no? Just a little ray of happiness shining through the clouds?
Yeah, but Philbin eats at Pizza Hut. Ok, that was unnecessary. The man has most of his family left. (Yep, went there) I take it back, he doesn't eat at Pizza Hut.
Man, first time I have been in the mains in awhile.......argh...Seems like there are several new people trying to break post records or something and your putting out misinformation most of the time.....it is hard to enjoy reading post' in here that are not accurate and then watching you all argue over it...it's all good...I will go back to Club Level where it's real and enjoy the rest of my time on the site.
