I was watching the game at Dolphin Mall, outside at the main entrance theres literally like fifty screens from several bars and restaurants.. Anyways, the amount of Patriot fans in Miami is sickening. There were some Bronco fans too but the vast majority were left disappointed.. I even saw one with a Dolphins hat on all upset because Brady didnt win.
I dated a woman like that. Grew up in Ft Lauderdale and was a Dolphins fan but, liked Brady and the Pats too because her sister lived in Boston. It didn't last.
Tom Brady is a whinny cry baby. But a great QB. I respect excellence. Nothing more. Now if you want to talk about the Panthers............
I have a uncle who is a die hard Dolphins fan and has been a season ticket holder for longer than I can remember. He is originally from Boston and he always says he roots for the Pats in the Playoffs once the Dolphins are eliminated. I can never understand his logic in that regards... There's some odd fans out there.
What is there not to understand? We are rooting for a team that has not won the super bowl since 1973. The object of the game is to win the super bowl. There is no trophy for second place. Football is entertainment. I am torn for the super bowl with Manning and Cam. Cam is hometown boy, but I like Manning because he is a classy QB. Would love to see Manning get a ring and retire. Don't see him playing another year. Carolina has to be one of the strongest teams I have ever seen. They played an excellent game yesterday against a really good team
I am that way... been a Dolphin fan since about 5 yrs old wearing footy Dolphin pajamas... now 51. If the Dolphins are not playing I usually go with the Chargers (my daughter's favorite) or the Cowboys (distant relative on team) if they are playing still. Turned into a Carolina fan when they were formed, but my heart stays with the Dolphins. When I was young I would go for the 49ers... loved Joe Montana. That is... as long as not playing the Dolphins or smashing Dan in the SB. My neighbor was a big Cowboys fan so I was always against him in the Roger the Dodger days... but I liked that team too. I have never had a inkling of going for the Jets, Bills or Patriots. I liked the Raiders a little until Stabler threw that pass between like 6 of our guys to beat us in the playoffs. They were mean and nasty. My first year in college in our team-house the Redskins fans were downstairs... while a couple of Dolphins were upstairs. They roared something fierce when Riggins ran over our guy for the touchdown. Dang... that was terrible. I hated the 'Skins way before then... but that sealed it. Plus half of NC is Skins-land... they used to be the only team on tv... or the Cowboys. Any team playing the Pats or the Skins is a team I can go for. Heck... these last 15 years or so a Dolphin fan 'almost' has to find a new team to pull for too.
They are? We used to be rivals of the Bills, and Jets, but either we owned the Pats or they have owned the division, not much rivalry going on
As opposed to the "classy" Patriots fans sitting behind me week 17 that were trying to fight everyone in the section from the time they took their seats. The ones making racist, sexist, and homophobic comments all game? I guess we should all strive for that level of class.
We are trash. He's been to the AFC title game more than our franchise. I'm sick of hearing "LOL The Pats didn't win a Superbowl." "LOL Nobody is perfect like our 1972 Phins!" "LOL Jests suck" ll these things are great. ****ing wonderful. BUT NOW? I no longer give a ****. This once mighty franchise has fallen to the point where we hav to try and convince ourselves a year of 8-8 or 9-7 is good. This pompom waving while they fall 2 points short of a Superbowl while we've been home for a month is trash. I'm so disillusioned. To hell with our rivals. Let's get our house in order and stop them our goddamn selves. I am tired of the mediocrity this fanbase has begun to accept. "at least our rivals didn't win." To hell with that. Do you know what rival keeps us from winning? Our goddamn selves and this loser mentality Ross has cultivated at every level of the organization. Enough. Now we aspire to host superbowls and honor past teams. We used to aspire to make history and go to Super Bowls.
So two Patriot fans defend their Brady love stance here.. Hope youre able to function properly at work today after such a heartbreaking loss.
I like it every time the Pats lose. Since we are not the owner we can't change anything... we are just fans. We can ***** and complain... and pull any tiny bit of satisfaction out of a season anywhere we can find it.
I never liked the Broncos after all the lethal hits they gave us back then that cost us our season, especially the big hit on Chambers by Lynch... But yesterday I was rooting hard for Manning to give us football fans one last great game and beat the Patriots
Every single time we have one of these threads there are a few people who need to trash the notion of finding satisfaction in a rival losing. It's ****ing sports. We love our team and hate our rivals. That's how it works. So when a rival loses I'm happy. Especially a rival that has owned the division and league for over a decade now.
WADR, just stop. No one but no one is happy the current record of our team. Jesus. Not the fans, not the staff, not the players, no one. Take a pill, its a game.
that was ridiculous. Jump down off the soap box because no one is listening Even when we were a good team decades ago, I still was rooting against Buffalo in every Super Bowl, no different than rooting against New England now.
**** the Patriots, **** Brady!!! Cheating ***holes got what theu deserved, rooting for Cam here on out. I envy Carolina because of Cam and that defense, I wish we had both.
No one here will judge you if you just go be a fan of them. Its ok, just do it. They have better boards and they are in the Super Bowl. Just go for it. You're miserable here anyway. and you;'re too young to remember the good old days. Go get in on the ground floor of Carolina's greatness then you can tell everyone you were there from the beginning. Its ok, you're free....sprout your wings and fly.
As a diehard, anti-pasties fan, that is simply hilarious... As a 'football' fan, the Broncs beat him up but he kept coming back and was a few inches short of a tie and OT in that game... Considering how badly he got beat up, it's amazing they were as close as they were... But you know the adage.... Clicking on FB, easy as pie, no cost.... Seeing and hearing that gif...priceless...
I don't care about the optics of a fanbase that is the most disingenuous, arrogant and entitled pack of dog**** losers on this planet this. That video should win an Oscar.
I think it's ok to be extremely upset at the current state of the Miami Dolphins. But that isn't mutually exclusive to finding joy in the failures of their rivals. I'm sick of everyone trying to tell me I can't enjoy the Patriots failures just because I cheer for a franchise that stinks.
