This is crazy, but the other day when this site was undergoing maintenance, I was cruising the other site, and it didn't seen nearly as negative.

Pretty stoked about this trade. If Kiko can stay healthy, look out.

There was one guy who was vehemently protecting Maxwell on the nfl site. Said he was above average, more of a zone cover guy despite expecting to play man, and he only gave up one TD last year (Sherman was the only guy to match that feat).

I don't know about Alonso, all I know is he's awesome when healthy.

Both are above average players, both fill needs and I didn't like our draft position either. I'm very stoked about this move.

Not sure where you getting these numbers but he gave up 3 tds in the first 2 games.2 tds to julio jones and a 1 to terrance willams in game 2.
I think he is an average corner at best.

Let's put this into perspective.. The Eagles are going with Nolan Carroll over maxwell. I'm not that excited about it. Another so do DB added to a so so secondary

Let's hope our recent streak of *adding injury-prone players only to see them get injured again* is at an end. Maxwell's probably starting-caliber, imo. He was damn good in Seattle.

Thanks, still trying to let the dust settle. He is a big corner, though. I don't know, he can be cut if it doesn't work out.

Kiko for $900,000 this year is very worth it IMO...

Let's all hope Kiko stays healthy, if he does this trade is an automatic win. He looked like a perennial pro bowler in Buffalo as a rookie.

Hopefully Maxwell rebounds, if so that would be great, if not we cut him after one year and 8.5 million.....all worth it for a healthy Kiko.

The main thing to me is what is the compensation.
If it's a late round pick I'm fine with it but I don't like swapping first Rd picks. The guys I really like will be gone.

Yup, we needed linebackers, and he's a good one. We needed a big corner and he's one, too. I'm not at all disappointed considering it's basically a swap for Grimes and a cheap gamble. Considering we still have Lippett, Hewitt, McCain, and possibly Jordan all still on their rookie contracts; I'd say this was a pretty savvy move that has easy outs.

We're the Dolphins...we don't rebuild, we transition, lol

I love gase but alnzo is injury waiting to happen.
He missed all of 2010 with acl injury for ducks.
Missed all of 2014 with acl injury for bills and for eagles 2015 he sprained acl and missed another 7 games.
    This guy is not durable.

I mean obviously, hence the late round pick (reported)....we bring in Maxwell and possibly restructure his deal, he's younger than Grimes, and we gave up basically nothing. Only a 3mm cap hit next year if cut. Alonso is 900k. So we trade a late pick for possibly 2 starters, and if not, depth/cutable guys next year. Its a win win

Is it a late pick? Some people are saying mid round pick and swapping our 8 for their 13th.Thats would be a bad deal.

Nothings finalized, but last I heard was a late pick. Injured player and overpriced player that doesn't fit Eagles scheme.......they can't ask for much.

If it's a 6th rounder and we restructure Maxwell, play him in zone, it's a win-win

Former Eagles CB Byron Maxwell is coming off a rough first season with the Eagles after signing a 6-year, $63 million contract, and Philadelphia just acquired LB Kiko Alonso from the Bills in exchange for running back LeSean McCoy, who promptly gained 99 yards per game for Buffalo (6th most of any running back with 10+ games in 2015). The Dolphins are trading away draft picks for this dangerous duo.

The move reeks of Executive Vice President of Football Operations Mike Tannenbaum, which should ring a bell since he served as General Manager of the Jets for a number of years. Tannenbaum has a penchant for trading away draft capital in exchange for veterans, which makes sense, except it always leaves the team incredibly top heavy because he doesn't leave room for depth. It's the anti-Bill Belichick te

Notice this article from superbowl nation says draft picks.
I hope these ****ers are wrong.Love the gase hiring but no fan of tannebaum.

I dunno. The way this draft is shaping up, 13 is looking better than 8. I think you can get Hargreaves at 8, but it's risky because he may not be able to cover tall receivers. Considering Jack and Ramsey are likely gone, of course. I don't mind picking a Lawson, Apple, Stanley, etc. at 13. Heck, I wouldn't mind dropping for an extra second and taking a swing at Karl Joseph late first. I just don't think the explosive talent is there at 8.

However, one recent mock had us taking Ezekiel Elliot at 8 and that was intriguing. Not that I would necessarily take him, but if he keeps climbing, he may push a Jack or Ramsey to us; or even create a trade down scenario for us.

This trade only works IF Kiko can contribute, still haven't seen anything on compensation. What's the big secret? jeez........
