Excellent! Didn't know how I was going to get through next season without the "Bench Tannehill for Moore" cries.
That Gase hiring better have been a homerun because I'm not liking the way the rest of the offseason has gone.
I'm not a big Tannehill guy at this point and am on record as believing that we'll have to move on from him, but there's no way anyone can think Moore is better. He's a career 79.3 rated passer (Chad Henne is 75.5) with a top season of 87.1. Tannehill on the other hand is an 85.2 rated passer topping out at 92.8 so far. Moore is 31 and four season removed from his best year. I don't see how you can expect him to be what he was, let alone better than he was considering Tannehill's best so far has been better than Moore's. Are we really that bad off that we think anyone except the starter is a great option (not saying that Tannehill is).
Seems like no matter the subject... the subject is an opportunity to bash RT in some other way. Makes me want to hang with Matt today.
That ship has sailed. What's funny though is how angry the hardcore pro-Tannehill contingent get every time Moore has been re-signed.
So the team stays the same in some areas and gets worse in others. But there is still hope other teams will be much worse off than us and we sneek into the playoffs. I think we're much closer to a top 3 pick in the 2017 draft.
I see Tannehill's stats as being part of the system. check downs etc. Certainly he has had some great games, but bottom line is the team always has a losing record. We've replaced the line a couple times, the receivers, the OC's, and now the head coach again. So lets see what he has this year. Last year people said it was the year for no excuses, but...........
A year 'with no excuses' with Philbin as the coach? With THAT front office? Really? I thought we would be pretty good... didn't know the defense (and OL) would be like Swiss Cheese.
His resigning for less money confirms my opinion that he's a backup. Why would I be angry about being right?
Of course that ship has sailed, especially when it factually shows how moronic it is to actually believe that Moore is better than RT. Why would anyone be angry over signing a cheep experienced back up QB?
Glad Moore took a paycut. Nice to keep him around as he is a solid backup and nothing more. The guy won't touch the field unless RTH goes down, That much is obvious. Atleast to..... some... smh.
Late, sure. We need a qb to groom anyway. But we have way too many holes to fill to waste a mid round pick on a qb
The way I see it, if Gase does have someone in mind and its a 4th, go for it, what do we plan on winning next season anyways?
It stems back to the 2012 season when the faux competition was held. Tannebumpers (who used to be the pro-Luck contingent) would spit hot venom at the guy at every impasse - unjustifiably so.
4 years ago...... when we drafted him, people were upset at Moore? That's the point you're trying to make to start more unnecessary BS for no reason? You are bringing something like that up in a thread 4 years later when the guy has proven to be a career backup and Tannehill has outplayed him nearly every year? Ooook. Cool story bro. You won't find anyone here who is upset that moore is taking a 50% pay cut to be Tannehills back up, but nice try.
But but but he cost us Luck!!! LOL. You can pretend it didn't happen, but you'd be a liar. The whole paycut thing illustrates some of the mind numbing comments directed at him, considering that the first year of that deal was UNDER fair value. He took less money so the team could spend more in FA that year. Of course, nobody was b*tching then. Your snark about unnecessary BS is exactly that ..... unnecessary - as you don't have a leg to stand on (more than likely stumps at this point).
WTF are you even talking about? Not one person is complaining about Moore, nor have they been for years? what is the point of even talking about this? Again. unnecessary BS. Find some quotes of this or stop talking out of your a**. This is so pointless. Even Tannehills biggest fans are happy Moore is here.
lol, the 1st 3 responses to this post were sarcastic and or negative; 1st response was probably a "who cares" post, which is totally understandable. 2nd response was just an anti Moore post. (thanked by 3 people btw) 3rd response was possibly a who cares post, but more likely an anti Moore post. You might want to get you facts in order before hitting the reply button, just saying.
Edit: Me asking for quotes was for quotes of what he's claiming about from years ago that no one's heard of. Not this thread. If either of you think anyone is 'upset' by this signing, you're wrong. Underwhelming is fine. But that's not the extent Rock was going for. Hey is Suh still not in the top 5 defensive tackles in the NFL according to you?
5-7 is what I said, and yes, lol I'll go ahead and stick with that, even if he wasn't selected to the popularity bowl, which means that the combined players, coaches, writers and fans didn't think he was top 5, even though he is wildly popular... Better question, are you still of the opinion that Suh will make all around him better? According to you last year, it wasn't critical who else was on the line, in the LBs or the secondary because Suh was going to make them all better, are you still sticking with that theory after the D crapped out last year?
