okay, I'm flying down from Boston to Miami for the New Years game vs the Patsies. I've never been to Miami. so I need some help

    - what's a good hotel to stay at before the game?
    - is the airport far from the good hotels, and are the hotels relatively close to the stadium? I'm trying to decide whether I need to rent a car or can use taxis/uber.
    - any other advice greatly appreciated.

    thanks

When I went to the Buffalo game last year, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Hialeah.

It wasn't anything special but it was adequate I thought. It was right off the interstate as I recall, and definitely close to the stadium. And free breakfast.

I can't speak to the airport part, because I flew into Tampa.

thanks Section, I'll check out the prices. I'm betting that prices on New Years day will not be cheap for any hotel in the area. but probably still be not too much more than buying the comparable seat in Foxboro

My wife and I stayed at Shula's when we came down in 2007, and it was excellent. Great sports bar/resturant on site too. Great location as far as we were concerned in a really nice neighborhood.

yeah, I went online today and couldn't get a room for Shula's. I wonder if the bowl game + NFL game + New Years is filling up the area hotels. I ended up booking at a place called Hotel Indigo, right next to Shula's Hotel. reasonable price in the Miami Lakes area.
