BREAKING per LeBatard: Heat offers Wade $40 million for 2 years, player option next summer.

Completely fair and he can help us get Russ next year.

If that's not good enough, then maybe it's time to part

I honestly see it playing out like the last 2 years. He plays and gets another clot mid-season, resetting the 1-year clock on that cap space.

i like that its a 2 year deal not three. We trade Boshs final year as an expiring

This proposed deal is $60 million over 3 years (including last year).

We're even bro. It's enough now

Question is whether Heat will match the Bumpy deal. I guess they actually can.

I don't see Miami matching TJ's contract to keep their flexibility for a big splash at the deadline or next year.

IMO that deal TJ signed is the worst contract I've seen this off-season. Good for him and I'm a fan, but I don't want the Heat to match that deal.

If Wade isnt satisfied with 2 years/40 million then happy trails to Milwaukee, completely crapping on the legacy you built here. Fact is he's 34 years old, 20 million per is more than fair. He should be up LeBron's *** not Mickey's or Pat's for opting out of that deal and leaving money on the table before...

    Gotta love your non bias!

Did The Heat get lucky vs SA with Ray Allen saving a 1-3 finals record in your opinion?

That would be a bad match IMO. Unless he becomes a star, you're stuck with him. We've been pissed about McBob's $5 million. Could you imagine owing him $15 million in three years?

I wonder if we'd take a look J. R. Smith's way. I don't like him as a person but Riley thinks highly of him.

Lol fin o we obviously got lucky. The game has a lot of luck involved. Without that 3 that was broken down by sports science as a near impossible shot, we dont win.

Cleveland won 3 games against a team without draymond or bogut. When both played together GS were up 3-1, when they didnt play together they were 0-3. One bull**** suspension and an injury helped cleveland

I wouldn't say Cleveland got lucky. They were by far the mentally tougher team IMO.

I do agree though re: Miami. The reality is that if they didnt sign Durant, most people would characterize it as a failure. That is due to the high expectations for such a great organization.

The way the NBA works, sometimes you just need to bide your time. I am happy with Miami going at it with Wade, Bosh, Whiteside, Dragic, and Winslow for now, while retaining future flexibility.

Albert Nahmad has a great post up on Wade. It's essentially impossible for Heat to give Wade 3/60 and have any flexibility even with trades. Would likely lead to losing J-Rich in 2 years

So he either takes this deal or we give him what he wants and resign ourselves to being essentially what we are until he retires.

Or we bite the bullet, take the short term pain and proceed

Hopefully he takes it and we can move on.

Any one shot can go in or not. Lucky refers to beating a better team. The Cavs were one of the largest underdogs in in recent finals history. Obviously they needed quite a bit of luck to overcome that. It's not not bias to point out the obvious. The Heat/SA series that Miami one was between two very closely matched teams. The Heat/SA series that SA won was not. Miami would have needed luck to win that one.

I've heard Riley likes him and I trust Riley, but I don't see the attraction. I find him too inconsistent on offense and not good enough on defense.

A guy like JR Smith will always be tempting for Miami, because they are great at putting guys in position to be their most efficient. The challenge with a guy like Smith would be getting him to buy in.

There is no parity in the NFL. The same teams have been good for the last 15 years, the same teams have been bad for the last 15 years. Parity is marketing garbage you've swallowed.

I really don't get the doom and gloom either. If Bosh is healthy, you have one of the best starting lineups in the NBA, you have a couple of talented young players, and you have Pat Riley who's good for a minimum of one or two pull-a-good-player-out-of-my-*** for the minimum a year. You also have enough money coming next year where you will be in play for another very good player. If Bosh doesn't play, you still have a team that pushed the Raptors to game 7, plus a boat load of money to spend next summer.

I see this differently than Lebron to Miami. Miami hadn't won a title in a few years and were a completely different team from the 06 team. It was Wade and a bunch of scrubs by 2010. Wade then recruited Bosh, then LeBron joined, then Riley filled up the rest of the roster. KD signing with a stacked GSW that just one a title recently feels more like a "can't beat em, join em" kind of thing than three stars from other teams deciding to join up on the same team(and sacrifice $$ in doing so). Like others said, even when that happened we still werent even a favorite to win the East let alone the NBA finals. GSW are now a juggernaught, at least offensively. The rich got richer.

Its not a right or wrong, better or worse comparison either, just two different situations. Ill say though that the NBA just got a little bit more boring.

I actually like this signing for them. If Rose can give them even half of what he used to be, they should have a pretty good starting backcourt. If Porzingis steps to the next level, they could be better than a lot of people are expecting.

Hard for me to imagine teams with essentially the same players being that much different the following year.

I would say in basketball (where you have to win 4 games) calling a series win at any point "lucky" is off base. Now a game? Anything can take place.

For 1 yr and 5m. That's like the equivalent of the vet minimum this offseason. I'm not a huge Jennings fan but for 1 year I can stomach him and rose.
