Disagree about your definition of perfect pass. So it is even arguable, because right where it was in fact perfect.

    Stop it! Please!

You two are so deep down this rabbit hole of nonsense you're in danger of not being taken seriously by anyone on this forum ever again.

Just cut your loses while you still can.

You're taking the term "perfect" to pedant levels. Was it perfect by the dictionary definition of the word? It was a great, great, great pass let's just leave it at that.

As for CK ... I don't always agree but he tells it like it is almost always. He's one of the biggest Doughty fans on this board (besides 25 I'm sure lol). I don't feel any need to get in line with any sacred cows around here, I'll disagree with God if he came to this forum, but I trust CK and Boomer's assessments always. Not because I think they're always right, but I think they're always honest even if they are biased from time to time, everyone is, we're all humans. But they're not Stans.

CK's analysis has made me MONEY in fantasy football too, from the draft forums. It's how I choose my sleepers.

OK, so if a person cannot throw a ball far, he has a strong arm.... gotcha. I am willing to bet any QB that can throw the ball 90 yards would be considered to have a strong arm

you cant handle the truth, I get it. A dropped pass is WR's fault. A WR runs out of bounds is the the WR's fault. I get it now.

Sounds to me that he thinks he's not going to make the team or that he's going to the practice squad.

Look, the pass was high and hot, and they were what, 6 yards apart? QB17 was under NO pressure and had a clear passing lane, there is absolutely no reason the pass should not have been perfect.

Watch the video, it's about 40 seconds in,http://www.nfl.com/videos/miami-dol...y-throw-of-Ryan-Tannehill-in-Preseason-Week-2 you can see that cameron has to tweak his body back to attempt to make the catch which is hot and right at his head, if the pass was right in the bread basket it's probably a TD, again, there was only about 6 yards in between them, no pressure and a clear passing lane.

As I said, that is a drop, you want Cameron to catch it, but you also want a perfect pass in that situation, there is no reason for it not to be, this is real simple, when you increase the difficulty of the catch, you increase the drop rate, so part of the blame goes on QB17.

There were too many short, slightly off target passes in that game, like the quick screen to Landry, too far out in front, only a one hand stab by Landry makes that a completion, how many times out of 10 does that short pass get caught?

The 1st TD to Stills is on his back hip, giving the closest defender a chance to make a play, putting the ball about an inch from being deflected by that CB, when the pass should have been to the front where there was more space, and away from that defender.

The 2nd TD pass to Stills was low and inside, it should have been high coming over the shoulder, if that DB gets his head turned around, that could have easily been a pick, lucky it was an UDFA rookie who is listed as the 4th LCB, iow, a guy who will be unemployed soon.

There were more than that, but that's 4 very short pass plays right there, in just one half, so it's not just an occasional thing, it's an on going problem.

I agree you are a clown if you don't think a person that threw a ball 90 yards did not have a strong arm.

P.S. I am still waiting on that definition of athletic that you keep avoiding. Get some books and read up on it, then let me know what you decide.

You do not want the pass in the bread basket. You want it up high around the head. When you are that close.

Why would you want it high around the head?

You would want it chest high so you could quickly tuck it in.

So they can best keep their eye on it. Notice his hands went up to his head right when he moved inside. He was looking for the pass to be right there.

Edit: Also for hard passes that are that close it is easier to catch with the hands around the head. The breadbasket can lead to body catches which also leads to drops.

Wait, you think I actually feel some obligation to answer your bad attempts at some sort of Socratic Q&A? That's disappointing. I thought I was making it pretty clear that I've come to the conclusion you don't matter enough to warrant going through any amount of trouble explaining or debating obvious points.

Forget drafting QB's every year for grooming replacements and backups.

I hope we keep drafting a QB every year just for the offseason entertainment.

oh nice attempt to side step the fact you cannot answer the question because it might make you look foolish, and we can't have that. You spew off on your tangents of things, but when questioned you cower in your hole. I get it, it is safe there.

You think speed soley defines someone as being athletic. again when asked a simple question you chose to cower and attack instead of coming up with an answer

I asked you if throwing a ball 90 yard would be considered a strong arm, again you chose to cower and or attack.

I was trying to carry on a conversation with you, but you got all defensive and went on the attack.

    It is quite sad really.

P.S. I am glad you think of me as the teacher, and you the student, that is how it should be.

It is rather sad. I posted about a QB that i was excited about because I had actually seen him play. Wanted you guys to know he could be a good one.

Someone stated he was not athletic and I simply asked what defined athletic, never mentioning the QB nor suggesting the statement was incorrect.

Someone stated he didn't have a strong arm, again i asked a simple question of what defines a strong arm. Again just trying to have a conversation, never dreamed it would turn into this.

You want passes to the chest, not the stomach. Good receivers use their hands and not their bodies to catch footballs. RT has a knack for realizing turned CBs, considering he grew up in an offense with a lot of out routes, that second TD to Stills.. there was nothing wrong with that pass. A lot of these people put the onus on RT for these throws but a lot of great QBs get bailed out all the time by uncomfortable catches from their receiving corp and those QBs get credit. RT makes extremely catchable passes that don't get caught and he gets all the blame. He's not perfect, no, but this thread has been a joke the past 5 or 6 pages.

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely false, Qb17 had a clear lane through the Oline, there was no need for that pass to be high and and too close to the head, if the ball had been 1 foot forward it probably would have been caught, then Cameron wouldn't have had to tweak his body backwards, the pass should have been better at point blank range.

I agree with CK on this. I've never been impressed with Lucks arm frok a velocity standpoint. I remember being disappointed in his arm strength in college when I would watch his games due to all the hype and the possibility of mia being in position to draft him his final year. I always left wanting more out of him in arm strength especially after all the hype. He seemed to be able to throw the ball a good distance with a lot of air under the ball so to say his arm keeps him from throwing a good deep pass is inaccurate but when it comes to fitting a ball into a tight spot from 15-20 yards out, I've never been impressed. Seemed rather average.

He could do a lot better with his lower body mechanics that way. The inherent arm strength is pretty good. But I wonder if it's even that important.
