Dude I'd keep a notebook of recruits, where they were from, my top needs, back up plans etc. I loved that **** and spent hours on it sooooo many hours
Me too. Just going through a whole offseason would take 3-4 hours. My wife would shake her head at me, and say "You aren't even playing football! You're just pretending to talk to high school boys who look 35!" I would sometimes spend the better part of an entire day off starting a new franchise, setting things up the way that I wanted them, simming the games of the first year while I recruited, and then doing everything in the offseason before I played a game in year 2.
You should've told her she should be glad you were just pretending otherwise you'd be doing 5-10 years at Jerry Sandusky State Penitentiary.
Once again, the guy who comes up with Madden ratings proves he doesn't watch football. Suh is coming off his best season as a pro, despite the negative press; he should be more like a 95. Wake is a little high for a guy coming off an Achilles injury. Misi at an 85 is a blatant "I got my PFF subscription this year, guys!" Tannehill at 79 is a total jobbing. Alonso should have Misi's 85. Stills is better than a 74. Byron Maxwell a 76? No.
I agree. RT was a 79 last year too, and with the way the franchise mode is set up, its very difficult to improve players much after they reach their mid 20s. I might not even buy the game at release and wait for it to go on sale later on, but if I do, I'll be adjusting a number of ratings to match reality. Glad we can do that now.
They've had a similar deal for Rewards Zone members in the past. Is that just for the Gamer Club now? The one from last year was the reason I bought the game at release. Pretty sure that was also the last time I bought anything at Best Buy also, since they gutted their rewards program. I shop at Target mostly these days, since their sales are often as good as anyone else's.
I don't think so, but I haven't seen the print add so I can't be certain. I think you only get the $10 pre-order bonus if you're My Best Buy member though, and then you get 20% off if you're GCU too (you can't be the latter without being the former I believe).
That might be the worst Madden Dolphins roster Ive ever seen out of the box. I have every Madden since it was on sega genesis and that is just not a good roster. I could see right away id be rebuilding, trading some vets for picks and working on developing our young players. And switching to a 3-4.
Gamestop has a sign on the door for a $20 trade in from 16 to 17. I might go ahead and do it. I've already deleted 16 from my PS4 to free up space. EDIT: I was wrong. The Gamestop offer is only for 20% more than they usually offer for the game, which means $7 instead of $6. Should have looked more closely the first time. Those guys used to be the best. I'd get half off of new Maddens with their variety of trade in offers in the PS2 days. Now, trade ins are virtually worthless most of the time.
Did the Best Buy deal. $15 gift card plus $10 coupon for trade in. Didn't ask for any membership info.
I started my Fins franchise, and of course the first thing I did, before playing any games, was cut Dallas Thomas . I played a few quarters in the preseason, and then jumped into week 1 at Seattle. The game is MUCH more challenging this year on All Pro default sliders. Seattle was up 10-0 on me before I got onto the board. The defense is much tougher. I was averaging less than 2 YPC at halftime. The big difference in the game was turnovers though. You really have to be careful. I was down 23-17 and driving towards the Red Zone with about 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, and had a pass bounce off of Jordan Cameron's helmet into the waiting hands of Kam Chancelor, who returned it for a TD. Now down 13 and with little hope, I was again driving until Landry fumbled after catching a pass for a first down, letting them run the clock out. All in all, I threw 3 INTs (2 off of deflections), and fumbled the ball 6 times. Three were recovered by Seattle, one by me, and two went out of bounds.
Yeah, I'm absolutely turning fumbles down. Through three games, I've fumbled 13 times. The CPU has yet to do so.
I haven't had much problems with fumbles through ~three games. I think I fumbled twice, and both were the QB. The CPU does seem incredibly talented at intercepting passes that get tipped up and bounce around though (happened twice). I've only had to kick FGs so far in my game against the Seahawks (I skipped it in preseason games), but in three kicks (all inside the 20), I had two of the blocked by Kam Chancellor. I'm not sure what I could have done to stop it, so I sure hope this isn't a systematic problem going forward. I mean these were ludicrous blocks, not just barely getting there ones or a guy getting is hand up over the OL (one was taken back for a TD). Also, my kicks in general seem incredibly short. I can't hit the accuracy right on because between the combination of myself and Darr/Franks I suck, but despite full power (or close) and only being a little early on accuracy (IMO) punts go seemingly 25 yds, and kickoffs go only to the 25-30. I need to find out how to fix that. Edit: Apparently you have to press the button for power before it reaches the top, not at the top. If you don't press it before, then it auto-assigns a power I guess.
I've had two extra points and one punt blocked, and close on a few others. I cannot recall ever having a single one blocked before, so they've certainly changed something. The kicking is definately different, and I think that you're correct that you need to get it exactly where the mark is and not over. I hit a medium FG all the way up on the power bar and then smack in the middle of the accuracy marker, and it was way short.
