Source: Dolphins plan to work out veteran LB A.J. Hawk

"Hawk has 945 career tackles. He was drafted by the Packers in 2006 and spent his entire career there before playing with the Bengals last season."

"...could provide veteran leadership, stability and depth to the Dolphins linebacker group."

Some quality veterans are available for week 2 because if they sign, the rules differ on guaranteed salary

Alonso was pretty bad on Sunday. I know he wasn't a good run defender but he was a liability in coverage as well.

I saw Alonso everywhere during the game. He played pretty good along with the rest of the defense.

Yeah I thought Alonso played well Sunday. From what I saw most people thought he was good as well.

I remember one running play in particular where he ran him down and tackled the guy for a 2-yard gain. It was a great tackle.

Love Hawk. He'd be a great backup at this point...

Our LBs have been horrible for years and we keep ignoring it, one coach after another.

I think since the NFL has been changing more and more to a passing league with all of the (wussified) rule changes that the LB position keeps getting undervalued a little more each season. DLine pressure and Secondary players are top priority now.

Just about every other team in the nfl has at least 1 playmaker @ LB. Not us. The jury is still out on Kiko b/c he had a horrible preseason.
