I'm over that Cleveland game. Offense is still not on the same page, which is what you'd expect. Drake and Pead did admirably and should get more time. Cincinnati in four days. A win would be great. I like our chances if the offense can at least sustain drives. Cincy has been struggling, but the odds are against us winning.
I worry that we cannot stop the run and we are to get gashed by Hill. The bigger concern is going to be who we put on A.J Green he is going to feast on Maxwell. I dont understand why we went away from the press with him, when he did he had a great PBU in the end zone, and the deflection against Pryor when he got the jam.
Defensive line is going to have to play at a high level for us to win Thursday. Denver was able to get to Dalton today and he struggled.
I will be there, I wasted $1800 on tickets. Debating on if I should even wear any Phins gear to save the embarrassment. I guess on the bright side, Im not married to my cousin...so I got one up on those Kentuckians.
Our defense is going to get thrashed unless there is a drastic change before the game. Absolute obliteration is on it's way. I think our offense will keep us in it, like they have for 3 games in a row now, even after a slow start. But something has to give with our defense. Missed tackles have been our MO for a while.
I despise Thursday games in the NFL. I had this as a "schedule loss," don't see much reason to change it. It's ridiculous that the League does this. The quality of play/execution is far worse and the road team usually gets killed. Our opening schedule was super difficult. 3 out of 4 on the road with one of those on a Thursday...and all 3 road opponents having made the playoffs last year. Pretty brutal. That said...Phins up. Cincy is a nice low-level playoff team type of challenge after two SB contenders and a basement dweller. I just wish it was on a Sunday for a more legit eval.
I'm confident that we're going to win this. We tend to have Cincinnati's number. Edit: I just wished it was Halloween.
I liked how Gase got several different backs and even Landry involved in the running game. I wish he would call more read option and jet sweeps to keep defenses honest.
I think with the offense like the commentators is that the routes we are running take a while to develop. So when Ryan is standing back there he is waiting and waiting for someone to get open he needs to see that opening and just RUN. He was frustrating today when he wouldn't see the hole and ends up throwing the ball away when he could pick up yards running.
Well, it's absolutely on to Cincy. Can't dwell on the Cleveland game. We escaped with a win and a win is ultimately all that I care about. Every year my goal is to see this team in the playoffs and I will hold out hope for the playoffs up until we are mathematically eliminated from them. With that said, it's going to be a tall task going into their building and beating them. Especially after they have lost two straight games. It's usually the other way around with the Bengals....They get on a high, a win streak of 5,6,7 games and then lose to a team like us or the Browns lol. I think they are looking at us as not only a should win, but a must win. So...it's going to be a tough game for us to take. With that said, FINS UP, Miami till I die! AJ Green and Jeremy Hill are going to be problems.
i dont see us winning this game but i see us beating tennessee next week. i think we saw today our first offensive scheme adjustment of the season. we went from short passes to intermediate passes today as the primary weapon. we werent dinking and dunking but going for ten yard fifteen yard plays. lots of crossers. it p[layed a little havoc with our pass protection and we werent on the same page alot buti think its a necessary transition and one we should be more comfortable with week five than week four. we might have a real stinker on thursday but who knows? any given thursday right?
we are going to get our asses kicked. 140+ yards for pryor, i can only imagine what green is going to do.
I agree with everything you said...except the second line. I expect the offense to be on the same page. Same QB, same WRs as last year. Same Oline for the most part. They had an entire training camp to get on the same page. Our oline shouldn't be horrible...there is alot of money and high draft picks spent on it. Our WRs are good. Our TEs are ok. Our RBs have talent, esp the two you mentioned. The one glaring weak link is at QB. Tannehill must prove that he can play better, will play better at critical times, and will become a leader. Its year five. What we saw yesterday...against the BROWNS, at HOME...its unsat.
The quarterback is the 15th rated passer, and 7th in passing yards. The rushing attack is 25th. And the quarterback is the weak link? Riiiiight.
Wedding gift so it was for 4 of us. And yes, but a large % of their following come 30 seconds south from KY. I have been their multiple times (we always seem to play them in prime time) and its always comical. Will you be tailgating anywhere? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
passing yards? Not sure how much that means if anything. Rodgers had like 200 yards passing yesterday and 4 TD's. I'll take that over a bazillion passing yards and 2 INT's.
no tailgating. I'll be coming from KY there are 5 of us going. 3 Dolphin fans and 2 Bengals fans. Thankfully the Dolphins normally play really well against the Bengals.
So would I, but if you're analysis after three games is that Tannehill is the weak link on offense when the running game is putrid then you're either not watching the games, or, well, you know...
Nah...until Tannehill's play settles the argument there IS an argument. You can't try and move the conversation to other inadequacies sadly. That'd be cheating. I don't like it any more than you but this season our boy is under the microscope and has to prove he's the guy. Not ruling him out, but you can't criticize peoples' "agenda" any more than they can yours in this situation.
I hope you are right adam because that one two punch of Murray and Henry along with Mariota against our strainer basket of a defense might not match up too well. Murray had 114 yards on 16 carries (7.1 ypc) and additional 41 yards on 5 receptions and Henry 45 yards on 10 carries (4.5 ypc) against a struggling raiders defense but our defense is struggling as well. But lets hope the extras rest will help out and get the defense performing better.
He has but i don't think you can completely shut down Green, but if you can force Dalton to go elsewhere we might be ok. Its going to be tall task and i'm more worried about Hill and Gio especially with how bad Jenkins have been playing.
Urbick played decent, right? I didn't notice him but CK actually thought he would get the nod over Steen. I feel pretty good about the line. We still can't set the edge on defense. Joseph doesn't really trust Maxwell's press coverage. Browns did well to key on Parker in critical moments...So did the Pats. They should anticipate this in Cincinnati and have some good decoy plays ready.
How many times did we see him drop 10 yards off the ball before the snap? Too many for me to count. I don't know, it also seems like our corners had a tough time getting off blocks in run support. Disheartening that we couldn't stop Pryor. I thought it was 2010 all over again. Instead Pryor filling in for Haden as the one Brown who beat us.
I'm actually shocked that we've run for a few more yards than the Bengals have. I think their chances of greatly increasing their number are a lot better than ours, though. We've somehow managed to allow only the 17th most points. But we're 30th in yards allowed, while the Bengals are 17th. We've had the most plays run against us, and we're dead last in rush defense, while the Bengals are a middle of the pack 20th, and they're allowing only 3.7 yards per carry, while we allow 4.3. Out best hope is creating turnovers, sacking Dalton, and moving the ball through the air.
Are you aware that Cincinnati is on the Ohio/Kentucky border? And that a signifigant portion of the market is on the South side of the Ohio river? The Indiana border is just to the West as well. My cousin lives on the KY side but calls herself a Cincinnati resident.
Every game I've been too its an Old Milwaukee and PBR canned beer fest. Most of the fans dont have any shoes on and roll their cigs up in their stained sleeves. I have no choice but to assume they are from Kentucky.
