The Bucs are looking for a WR...they are also willing to trade Jonathan Banks. I'd entertain letting Stills go for Banks and a fourth. We need to be playing Carroo more. We need mid round picks...

Sounds good on paper, but Stills is currently Tannehill's favorite target and I'm not sure if I'd do anything that messes with our offense at this point.

How's Banks been playing? I thought he was a tad overrated coming out of that school.

That's my feeling as of right now as well. Tannehill and Stills are starting to make a connection. I'd rather not upset that just yet.

Imo, this is more about Carroo, Parker, and the draft pick. In the off season, we are going to pay huge bucks to Jarvis Landry. Like Ajayi, Carroo needs more opportunities. I don't think DVP is the kind of WR Gase wants, esp at the price if we pick up his option. We need to get Carroo more reps now, build quality Oline depth with mid round picks...and still have two years to find that third and fourth WR. Banks played well a couple of seasons ago, better than Jamar Taylor. Maybe he can develop, maybe not. T-Buckley struggled for a few years, but was good for us in the right scheme.

No offense, but you're taking away Ryan Tannehill's deep target. I don't think that's wise.

We can't trade our deep threat, I wouldn't be opposed to trying out Banks though for the right price. I admit I haven't seen too many Bucs games but I liked him in college, why hasn't he played this year?

Parker is exactly the WR he prefers, the NFL, for that matter.

why are we so quick on trading a strength of the team? we have a bye week this week, and it's an opportunity to get this pass game going. teams will be stacking the box now, and will dare to throw on more one-on-one opportunities.

Jonathon Banks; apparently he has knee injuries, plus his contract ends this year.

Still on the other is in line for a huge payday ala Olivier Vernon, given the logjam induced by draft Caroo, I don't see Stills hanging around.

I could see offering a 6th for Banks if he can pass a physical he is 6'2".

This trade would not be about this year. Now, I am speculating that all Carroo needs is a chance and he'll be fine. We are going to have to make a decision on who we want at WR in the next couple of seasons. It'll be Landry and one other guy that gets paid. The others are going to be lower budget guys. Of the skill sets, I like Carroo's style. He's more like Landry than he is Parker or Stills. I think with another off season of him working out with Landry everyday, with a better understanding of the pro game, he's going to be a beast. Parker is more of a finesse WR. You can't keep them all. We've seen from Ajayi sometimes players need opportunities, even if the opportunities are forced up on them.

Anyway, being that most of you guys are FAR more knowledgeable than I am about the team (I am interested, but don't get to watch nearly as much as some of you), I'll say that you guys are probably right. I am just thinking about the next couple of seasons. Lets hope whatever decisions they make our offense continues to improve.

Interesting proposition, a WR for a CB. I want to see Carroo as well. Stills does the deep thing but his underneath routes are nothing special. Moreover his smaller stature and terrible blocking mean he's always going to be limited/inconsistent in what he does for you.

And don't talk to me about decoy routes. That's always the argument for fast guys. We heard about the "immeasurable contributions" of Mike Wallace when he was here and Ted Ginn Jr before him.

So in my mind, Stills isn't that great. We should be getting more looks at Carroo. That begs the question, why aren't we then? Odds are he doesn't know the plays as well and Gase would rather trust Stills on Sunday.

I for one disagree with Travis. At no point will Miami be stocked this year at CB. Howard is the only name I even like. It seems to me that Miami has a bunch of junk at CB. That said, there will be A LOT of solid, reliable and mid-priced free agents on the market and Tannenbaum tends to acquire CBs like that (as well as in the draft). I predict Miami acquires CBs in the offseason.

Lippett, Howard and McCain seem to be the only guys for the future...no reshad this year, this secondary is not a strength this year.

Okay, but you're still taking away a deep threat. I understand that Stills underneath game isn't all that, but not every Wide Receiver is going to be great at everything.

I wish I shared your optimism on corners. I like Howard too, but he's going to play his way through some rookie errors. We have no idea what we're getting with Culliver coming off injury and Benwikere got cut from the Panthers who have a horrible pass defense.

For the record, I'm not advocating the trade. I haven't studied the particular CB in question so I can't comment but according to others it sounds like he's got question marks and would be searching for a contract next year. Doesn't sound like an altogether great option.

Anyhow, to answer your question, I just don't particularly value Kenny Stills the WR. He's not great as a possession target and his blocking is just terrible. Look at it like this. Kenny Stills right now is as good as Kenny Stills is ever going to be. He's never going to be bigger, faster, more physical or better with his routes. He's a 4th year WR that can produce 600-900 yards with as much as a 19 or 20 YPC average. He can put up 3-6 TDs if his QB is giving him enough looks down the field. He did it in 2014 with Drew Brees in New Orleans and he's showing similar abilities now with Tannehill in Miami. He is a deep threat and not much more.

Offenses can utilize those types but by no means are they required or integral to the operation. To me, Stills has low-to-moderate value. There's nothing great about those numbers and he doesn't have the market cornered on speed. You can buy speed. It's out there. There's a reason New Orleans let Stills go. He's good, not great. WR is one of the most well-stocked positions coming out of college and rather than pay for production, the smarter teams (like New Orleans with Brandon Cooks and Michael Thomas) simply go and get rookies that can produce right out of the gate.

That makes Parker's lack of production all the more frustrating and it makes the idea of trading up for Carroo all the more infuriating but I digress...

Parker is under contract for 2 more years. Landry is under contract for 1 more year. Carroo and Grant are under contract for 3 more years. We've seen what those guys can do in college. So far, Landry is the only proven NFL WR. Parker needs to step it up. Carroo and Grant need to prove to the coaches they are reliable so they can get on the field!

I think that if we were going to make a trade it should be for Stephone Anthony. He led the saints in Tackles last year as a rookie with 112 but cant get on the field this year?
