Oh brother, SMH, I was against the signing of Wallace and his huge contract, just one in a long line of stupid contracts.

OK, so you will put aside TDs, but worry about him getting another 100yds so you can say he has 1000, wow, just wow, think before you hit "post reply".

    jeez

You just said it was stupid to get rid of Wallace, didn't you? So naturally after watching Wallace play 2 very mediocre seasons here you came to the conclusion that his contract was worth it and he should be kept, right?

You've either missed the point or are trying to twist the thought behind my words. I'm not putting aside the value of TDs for 1,000 yards, so try again.

1k yards is just a commonly used benchmark. It's not a real high benchmark for a #1 receiver that makes 12mill per season in an offense that passed for over 4K yards....but Wallace couldn't get there.

As for the 10 TDs. Again a lot of his scoring was due to pure opportunity. He's not a redzone threat because he lacks pretty much everything it takes to be one. He lacks jumping ability, savvy route running, able to work in small spaces, or even just pure will on contested balls. And we all KNOW that not many of those total of 15 TDs over 2 years were from deep ball connections.

Don't really have a problem with the tweet. Didn't trash anybody, just excited to play his old team.

Lol, we had already given Wallace the bulk of the money, do you even follow this team?

Still going on about yds being more important than TDs?

    More power to ya bro.

Was due 10mill in 2015 and 11.5 in 2016 and 2017. That's what I found to be true, anyways...So wtf you talking about Fester?

How am I going about yards being more important than TDs? READ what I wrote!

I heard that the Dolphins are leading the league in explosive plays. Running plays over 10 yards and Passing plays over 20.
That is pretty incredible considering what the season started out like.

Smh, he signed a 5 year 60mil contract, in which he got over half of in the first 2 years.

The numbers you posted are cap, not salary, it includes signing bonus, which he already got and it counted against the cap anyway.

So, very stupid time to let him go, waste of money and talent, and a big dead cap hit.

    Savvy?

As far as the TDs vs yds, maybe you should read what you wrote, lol, you are making some case that because he got 900yds instead of 1000 that that is some huge thing that he didn't accomplish, then you say that the 15 TDs had nothing to do with his skill, lol, had nothing to do with his skill, yeah, OK.

    What do you call that stuff you clean pigs with? Oh yeah;

Wow, Wallace just gained some respect from me, he at least seems to acknowledge that he was overpaid. :chuckle:

Shake your head all you want. The cap number is the only thing we as fans should give a **** about. The cap is what restricts teams from being flexible. You don't pay his salary, do you???

I made it crystal clear what I meant about his yardage and why he caught as many TDs as he did. I'm not going over it again.

Well, Im guessing he wishes Ryan threw the same type of deep ball then as he does now. Mike did his job in Miami, bottom line.

I don't understand the Wallace hate. People are saying he was force fed, I'm pretty sure I don't care if he was "force fed" if Tannehill threw for a 115 rating to him. People are still trying to call him a one trick pony yet he still managed to be useful to the tune of 10 TD's in 2014 and nearly all of them were in the red zone. People say he was soft, yet I remember several examples of him lowering his shoulder and fighting for extra yards.

Was he overpaid? Sure, he was paid to be elite, which he wasn't but he was still pretty darn good.

As I see this game, the Ravens are going to be throwing the ball a lot...and putting up great stats, but like Henne when he was our QB, without much of a running game, our defense will just have to bide our time.

I see 3 picks, 4/5 sacks and even a forced fumble on Flacco. Our defense is going to be all over Flacco like a cheap suit.

Tanny doesn't mesh well with speedy running go route WRs. Even with the improved deep pass. You look at the ridiculous metrics Stills had in NO and then he comes here and he's a bum.

Wallace was overpaid. I think all elite WRs are overpaid because LT and WR are overrated positions IMO.

But I give Wallace credit for working harder and becoming a more complete WR the second year.

Tanny needs Parker Landry and Carroo style WRs. Which is fine

Glad IAQ didn't play here with Wallace, so has no love for him and can happily tee him up on the deep passes.

Jizzing all over it with our 7th straight W.

I've backed Wallace because despite the common fan narrative, he did what he was paid to do in Miami. Put himself in position to make big plays. He gets a lot of hate from your ESPN stat guy.

But regardless....I hope Byron Maxwell throat punches him this Sunday.

I actually brought mine to the stadium when I traveled to Miami to go to the Steelers game, I brought it to the pro shop and asked if they could remove the nameplate and put "Parker" on in it's place, sadly they don't do that.

You should try your local sporting goods store, the one that makes up the jerseys for the high school and local sports teams.

He was traded to Minnesota(with his remaining contract), he wasn't cut. AFAIK, there is no dead cap money when you trade the player. Maybe I'm wrong?

You are. The team taking the player is not responsible for paying the signing bonus.

Yeah, my bad, he wasn't cut, but Taco is right, 3 years of signing bonus turned into dead cap space, we had crazy dead cap that year, over 20 mil, and Wallace's dead cap was spread over 2 years.

Wallace was much better his second year in Miami. However, he still couldn't catch with his hands, or run good routes, and he seemed to have terrible awareness of the sideline.

After year two, I was kind of on board with keeping him, despite his shortcomings.

I have a rule that I don't buy jerseys of guys we sign as free agents. Only home grown dudes.

Cam Wake is an exception because his route was different than just a regular free agent.

As for Wallace, other than quitting in the end, I don't have any problem with him. He played relatively well in his two seasons here. Had some drops but made some big plays. Parting ways was smart for all involved.
